Under the 150 year old Olive tree there is a fabulous BBQ area to chill on a sunny afternoon with yet another lovely Marble table for dining, you will be spoiled for choice, under the carved antique pergola is a chill out bed.Please note that a refundable breakage bond of £1000 is payable before arrival and optional pool heating is £200 per week,for wedding parties there is a £1500 supplement .

By F Kelly on 20-Apr-2019Having just returned from a week at Le Roque we are all struggling to cope with being back to reality!! Based on the photos alone our group of two families were both very much looking forward to our trip but what the photos fail to properly convey is the sheer scale of the property - it really is huge. I can't recall the last time I really needed the guided tour of a rental property - I sometimes felt like asking google maps for the quickest route to the pool. The property is fully loaded with everything you could think of - my usual complaint of insufficient crockery/cutlery/towels etc was never going to be aired here with a large and properly equipped kitchen. Throw in the couple of large TV spaces, the pool table, table tennis table and large heated pool and the fact that the weather wasn't as good as we might have hoped for was never an issue, particularly for the kids. Throw in the lovely restaurants within walking distance (Julias & Alfanzina were fantastic though I'd give the Lighthouse a miss) and everything really was catered for. An absolute gem, I really do look forward to my next stay at Le Roque which will hopefully be sooner rather than later. Date of stay: April 2019
Luxurious villa
By H Cowell on 08-Jun-2019We have just returned back from the most amazing stay for my friends 40th birthday. 5 stars does not do the villa justice. It is high end luxury with special touches that make the stay feel really personal. Sam the owner was so helpful and put us in touch with a chef to come in and cook, Mario who was at hand to help out and transfers from the airport and she even organised a cake for the birthday girl, which was delicious. We literally could not fault anything about it and feel that now any trip will be very poor in comparison. Thanks again for such a memorable weekend which will be extremely hard to beat.

By carolyn c on 19-Jun-2019Sam, I wanted to say an absolutely massive thank you, firstly for having such an utterly amazing villa, which was out of this world, secondly for all your help in the run up to our trip and thirdly for the wine, the AMAZING cake and all the little extras you left for us to enjoy. It was without a doubt the most special place each and every one of us have ever visited. We loved all the seating areas, the roof top terrace, the views, the sun loungers, pool, music system... absolutely everything! The villa was absolutely spotless on arrival, and the attention to detail with decor, fixtures and fittings was just beautiful. You really have a great flair for interior design. We used a pizzeria called Mona Lisa, who came in to cook us authentic pizzas one night, and At De Bruin who you recommended was the icing on the cake, the BBQ was the best we have ever had, and they were so professional, and the food was super! We felt like we were rich and famous having such a treat. Mario was fantastic, so friendly, and explained everything swiftly yet was so informative. He contacted me during our stay to check everything was ok, which was so nice. We are already planning our next trip to come back to Le Roque, as to be honest I don’t think we will ever find anywhere as fabulous! Date of stay: June 2019

By jacky on 22-Sep-2019Sam - thank you for an amazing stay. Your Casa Le Roque is beautiful. The Hamper was very welcoming and our congratulations cake was a lovely gesture, very yummy too! We booked last year and through that time you kept in contact, giving me lots of recommendations for our upcoming Wedding. A perfect Host. We held our wedding at Le Roque with our family and a few close friends all staying for a week. What a truly amazing Villa, words and pictures cannot describe how truly beautiful It is and the most perfect setting for our Wedding, memories and amazing pictures all of us will have forever. Bon Bon Catering provided our wedding breakfast. They served, fed and watered us well on our day. They even set up the chairs for our ceremony which was very much appreciated. Le Roque is fully equipped, so no need to go anywhere except for supplies and to see the beautiful beeches. We only went out 1 night for a meal, but couldn’t wait to get back and relax. Our group age ranged from 2-76 years, everyone commented that they had never been on such a relaxed holiday and laughed so much. There was so much space, you could hide away on one of the beautiful terraces, games room or cinema room, so something for everyone. Supermarkets, restaurants, beach are within walking distance. You can even get lovely take away pizza’s from Mons Lisa. Hiring a car gives you more scope to visit the larger supermarkets and to go into Carvoiero town, but there are plenty of Taxis, Mario is very helpful with anything you need or want to know. Even better than could be imagined
By Chris B on 05-Jan-2020We stayed for the last week in May, half Term week, to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren. It is a wonderful house for a big family get-together with lots of space to allow for quiet time, although the focus of the week was around the lovely swimming pool. It is 5 star standard and even our 18 month old Freddie had his own bedroom, bathroom and private terrace! It's very easy to book, with Sam providing information and then Mario there to help when we arrived and throughout the holiday. Slide&Splash nearby was the great attraction for the youngsters and we enjoyed Julio's restaurant just along the road. We would just love to go again - a very special place.

By j bekkering on 02-Oct-2018Left on Sep 24, 2018 for a stay in Sep 2018 We had a wonderful time in Portugal last week, which was in large part due to the beautiful villa "Le Roque"! We are a family of 10 adults and 2 small children and we couldn't stop commenting on how wonderful the place is. There is an abundance of space and things to do around the house. We spent our days swimming, lounging by the pool, playing pool / ping pong, having amazing chef-made dinners on the upper terrace, playing cards well into the night in the wonderful covered sitting area in the backyard by wood fire... It's a shame we didn't stay for a few more weeks because there were just so many nice lounging areas scattered all over the property that we didn't even get to. The villa is perfectly located, beach within walking distance and a few of us played golf daily on the par 3 course directly located behind the house. The owner & caretaker also left us with plenty of recommendations for things to do in the area and a detailed instruction manual for the house. This villa is great for both a large group of friends who want to be able to spend some time on their own too or, like us, a family that wants to spend a lot of time together. Kids will love the swimming pool and all the huge TVs around the house. All spaces are big and clean and we had plenty of towels, which were replenished halfway during the week. Together with the beautiful weather, Le Roque and its owners made our stay unforgettable. We hope to return next year!
