Description
Our House of Swallows is 2km along a quiet hillside track 10 minutes from Castiglione Messer Raimondo/ Bisenti in beautiful unspoilt Abruzzo. Surrounded by 60 olive and many fig and fruit trees, it also has a stunning 14 metre swimming pool which is a particular feature of the house. Proximity to the best local agriturismo (incredible food and prices), which is 400 metres along a quiet track, makes it the perfect holiday destination. Every evening 100s of swallows swoop down over the cool water as you sip your delicious glass of Italian wine on the terrace! Very good wifi.All 2025 reviews are listed on our own website.
Rondinelle is set on its own along a quiet Italian track, with only an occasional tractor passing by. However, the wonderful village towns of Bisenti and Castiglione are both approximately 10 minutes in each direction where you can do all your shopping and eat very well in wonderful simple Italian style. There are small local markets, bank, butchers, cafes etc etc.
There are wonderful walks in every direction from the house. Beautiful wild flowers in Spring and lots of wildlife and the National Parks are stunning and a 50 minute drive away. Snow capped mountains in the background and a distant view of the Adriatic from the top of our hill behind the house. We always visit our favourite beach club, on our Italian trips.
Atri and Penne are beautiful historic towns approximately 30 minutes away, where you can visit and enjoy the Roman ruins and beautiful Italian hilltop towns.
The farmhouse consists of 32ft kitchen with 2 large fridges, 6 ring gas range cooker, dishwasher, walk in larder with chest freezer, drinks fridge, utility room with washing and drying machines, cloakroom, dining room which is open plan and leads through arches to a 40ft sitting room with open fire and French doors out to the terrace. There is an additional sitting room with 47"" flat screen TV/ all satellite \TV channels.
A large terrace at the front of the house overlooks the pool/views with an attractive covered gazebo for lazy lunches and long dinners and a lovely sitting out area with large gas BBQ lovely bamboo and rattan seating for drinks watching the sunset.
