Here is a sample review from a guest who stayed for one week in the summer of 2018, as part of the family who booked the villa:
'Ciao Brian
We have had an absolutely amazing holiday, at Villa Casciano.
The house was perfectly suited for 2-3 families. The rooms were spacious and bright with beautiful views of the garden, pool and landscape.
The large new kitchen was great, equipped with all the things we needed. We loved the pool, the way it was perfect for both children as well as adults; we used it all the time. The villa is situated perfectly, close to supermarkets and restaurants. We loved the fact that it felt like we were the only tourists in the area. Furthermore Andy was very helpful regarding any questions we had.
Best regards, Jane and family'.

By Belinda Frankel on 13-Jul-2025We were a group of three older women looking for a clean comfortable rental to use as home base as we explored the region. The house was idyllic, overlooking hills of sunflowers and flax. It was beautiful, serene and each evening we had a glass of wine and enjoyed the view. The pool was essential as there was a heat wave during our stay and it cooled us down every evening. The house is situated to visit caves, the coast and several interesting small towns. The house itself was as described, simple but very comfortable and clean. The house manager was responsive and helpful.
Would highly recommend
By Oliver Slape on 01-Oct-2025As a group of friends travelling with kids, we loved our stay here. The villa is a generous size, the views are beautiful and the pool was great. It's an old property with a lot of character, located in a peaceful rural area. You can tell that the renovation of this place is an ongoing labour of love. The massive kitchen/dining area has been finished to a really high standard. It's where we spent most of our time when not in the pool/garden. A couple of the bedrooms are still a little more rustic, but personally I quite liked that. I wasn't expecting a pristine hotel suite. The surrounding area isn't particularly known for tourism, so the pretty hill-top towns and villages nearby were rather sleepy, but still very welcoming. The local Abbey is also a pleasant place to go for a walk. And they have amazing ice cream and a lovely bar/café for evening drinks. There's also a local produce shop which was great for buying fresh fruit, vegetables, wine etc. Both the owner and local property manager of the villa were very helpful and responsive throughout booking process and during our stay. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic villa in Le Marche
By Chris Ritchie on 01-Jul-2025Villa Casciano is a superb property, expertly designed and maintained (a big well done to Brian for the restoration and to Andy, the friendly property manager!). We loved the house itself which perfectly suited our party of 11 guests. There are lots of lovely places to sit around the house but the heart is the huge kitchen and dining area (which includes yet another sitting area) which made meal preparation so much more pleasant than the usual quite small facilities which we have found in the past with other villas (even otherwise large ones). We also loved having the stunning pool area just beside the house (no toddlers to be concerned about in our party as they have all grown up!) which made it easy to go in and out for books, sunglasses etc (all the things you forget to bring and then have to trek back for if the pool is more distant). The views from the pool and around the villa were endlessly rewarding (again, plenty of sitting areas in the large garden area surrounding). The nearby village of Petriolo is a little gem and we particularly enjoyed the Bar Centrale which never seems to close so that you can enjoy an early morning cappucino and also a late night drink or gelato from its panoramic terrace. Just a little further away is Mogliano, which also has a useful kiosk from which you can fill up water bottles with spring water (either still or gassata). Further afield, we got to Macerata, Loreto, San Severino, Ascoli, even Castellucio and Lago di Fiastra. Excellent!
An Excellent Villa in a Beautiful Part of Italy
By Robert Murray on 02-Aug-2025Villa Casciano is simply superb! It is large with plenty of comfortable well furnished rooms in which to relax, comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. The kitchen and dining area is a lovely space for a big family meal. The villa easily accommodated our 3 generation family of 9 with plenty of room to spare. The outside area with it's lovely pool, is also well resourced with plenty of sun beds with cushions and a patio table for al fresco dining. We loved the flowers in the plant pots. The youngest generation delighted in the lizards, geckos and salamanders they regularly saw in the garden, most were named by them, "Big Barry, the shy Gecko" lives on the wall outside the the sun room was a favourite. The cleaning service after our first week was a welcome treat to have clean bedding and towels. The villa manager is very helpful, if needed and is not intrusive. The local area is stunningly beautiful with amazing sunrises and amazing views. I had a great chats with the macellaio and panettiere in Petriolo, the nearest village which is surprisingly well resourced and the locals are friendly and tolerant of my mangling of their language. We really recommend ristorante Le Perle who seamlessly accommodated two of my family with food intolerances that most places in the UK struggle in meeting without resorting to very basic items. If you, like us, seek a villa in rural Italy and away from the mass tourism areas Villa Casino is for you, I can't recommend it highly enough.
