Description

3 Bedrooms (Sleeps 8) 2 bathrooms. Panoramic countryside views to the sea
Luxury villa built from Istrian stone and reclaimed oak beams and terracotta tiles. Private heated pool (8 x 4m) with Roman steps, lined with mosaic tiles and having a waterfall feature wall. Clear plastic safety cover operated electronically. Peaceful location at the edge of the hamlet, with panoramic views to the sea. Landscaped gardens with tile-capped stone walls all round and wrought iron gates to parking for 2 cars. Tastefully furnished to the highest standard, including American side by side fridge/freezer with chilled water and ice dispenser and canvas pictures of local flora and fauna. Wireless internet. Air conditioning in each of the bedrooms. Double glazed windows and doors with traditional external wood shutters with outside access from each bedroom, central heating throughout and traditional Istrian open fireplace giving our villa a welcoming rustic charm.

The villa is enclosed within stone walls and is therefore safe for families with young children. Having found the pool to be the focus of the holiday, we recently replaced the original liner pool with a beautiful tiled pool. To extend the swimming season we added heating, which is rare in Istria but extremely useful, even at the height of the season if you favour a morning swim. Most importantly, having young children ourselves, we were concerned about pool safety and had a Roldeck safety cover installed. Being clear plastic, it retains the beauty of the pool and allows you to appreciate the lighting in the evening. It is fully automatic - just a press of a switch in the villa. It has already proved its worth, our young nephew having fallen but kept safe from the water. The large steps to the pool allow room for paddling or just relaxing! We also love eating outside and have added a stone-built barbecue and shaded dining area for fantastic al fresco dining with the most stunning sunsets.

Super zum entspannen abseits des Urlaubertrubels

By Michael Kraut on 13-Sep-2019

Wonderful Villa

By Matthew Blake on 26-Aug-2019

We had a wonderful holiday renting Vilu-Miran in August. The villa is well located in a very quiet hamlet and just 20-30 mins from Porec, Rovinj, Vrsar and Pula, as well as two excellent water parks. We loved being able to visit these beautiful towns and then come back and chill by the pool. The villa has lots of space (ideal for an extended family) and is very well furnished with all the necessary equipment to make staying there a breeze. It was also spotlessly clean and the air con worked well (particularly important in August). The outside seating and BBQ areas were also lovely and it was a perfect spot for lunch in the shade before getting back to sunbathing or jumping in the pool. The owners were very easy to deal with and quick to answer any questions we had. We found this area of Croatia absolutely perfect for our family (with two girls aged 12 and 9) and the children loved the water parks and beaches, with a multitude of water sports on offer, and we all enjoyed eating dinner in the picturesque old towns. The Adriatic Sea is also great for swimming in and incredibly clear. We also took a very enjoyable (and easy) day trip to Venice on the catamaran from Porec. There’s just so much to do here. In summary, a great villa in a lovely location, responsive owners and a perfect holiday destination.

Excellent villa near Sveti Lovrec

By Peter McCormack on 06-Jul-2019

We spent two weeks here in July 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa is very comfortable, set in the quiet hamlet of Mofardini. The cover on the pool means that the water retains its warmth overnight - it's the only pool we've come across where entering the water is like going into a mildly warm bath. There is a small supermarket in Sveti Lovrec, which also has a good pizzeria (San Lorenzo). Do not miss the local agriturismo-restaurant, the Konoba Tomazeva, between the villa and Sveti Lovrec. The villa is a good base for visiting the coast, including Porec (which has the nearest larger supermarkets) and Rovinj. We enjoyed a trip into Slovenia to visit the port of Piran, but be prepared for half hour queues at the border each way (it's not like driving between Schengen countries). Best of all was a trip to Motovun, with superb views from its hill-top position. Fans of "Kelly's Heroes" should not miss nearby Vizinada, which was used for filming many of the scenes set in war-time France.
