Overview
Description
Villa Anna has been in the family for many many years. Originally built sometime before 1922, it eventually fell into disrepair. In 2000 we started on the task to fully renovate our home. After 4 long years of rebuilding, rewiring, plumbing and decorating we finally finished our complete rebuild and sympathetic renovation of our old family stone home. We feel that keeping the stone it has kept its old charm and period features and we have mixed this with some modern amenities to make the villa charming yet comfortable for your stay.Being built from local stone some 100 years ago the villa is very cool during the Summer unlike modern block built villas. Obviously, in addition, we still have air conditioning for your total comfort.
The Villa has 2 good sized double bedrooms which are bright and airy, a good size living room, dining area with large table, and a large kitchen area again with another small table.
The main bathroom has a shower (with enclosure) and toilet. Additionally next to the pool there is an additional shower room with toilet.
There is also internet access via Wifi and the speed last year was on average around 7Mb and 1Mb upload.
The villa is set in quite substantial gardens for the island set out on different levels, surrounding three sides of the villa as we are on the side of the hill.
We have very old trees, a small lawned area, a vegetable garden, olive and almond trees, a terrace from the lounge overlooking the sea and nearby Assos and Assos castle. And of course the large pool area again with magical views over the sea, Assos and across the bay towards Zola.
We have a cleaner, Vera, who comes in twice a week to clean the villa and change all the towels and linen.
The swimming pool is cleaned and checked twice a week.
We also have a gardener that comes in regularly to water the plants and keep the gardens tidy.

Leave ReviewPicturesque and Tranquil
By Webb family on 04-Sep-2025We loved everything about our stay at Villa Anna. The traditional stone built villa has high ceilings and shutters, making the villa cool and welcoming after a day by the pool or exploring the beautiful Island of Kefalonia. Anna is a welcoming, lovely lady who is kind and couldn’t do enough for us, answering our questions quickly. Upon our arrival, we were met with biscuits, cake, a large bowl of different fruits and a bottle of the local wine. Towels and bedding were changed twice during our week’s stay. We met the two visiting cats who are friendly and come and go during the day. The views from the villa are amazing with beautiful sunsets. The pool and surrounding area is very clean and well kept with numerous sun beds and different areas to sit. We especially enjoyed having our breakfast on the balcony off the lounge, looking towards Assos and beyond. Amazing place to stay, ‘thank you Anna - we hope to return to your homely villa and the tranquil island of Kefalonia’.
Traditional and spacious villa with beautiful views
By Anja Simpson on 31-Jul-2025We (two adults and two teenagers) stayed in Anna’s Villa for nine nights in August and we had a wonderful time. Anna is a lovely host, quick to respond, and on arrival we were provided with wine, biscuits, fruit and a homemade savoury bake. The villa is situated in a very quiet and peaceful location, and it has the most wonderful views over the sea and Assos. We could not get enough of the views and the amazing sunsets. The outside area is spacious and interesting, with the gardens over different levels, the lovely pool area and the large terrace. The pool itself was much larger than we expected and we spent a lot of time in there! The inside of the villa is also very spacious and the beds are super comfortable. The villa was nice and cool to return to on a hot day. The inside is very traditional and you can see personal items such as photographs, antique furniture and crockery, etc, but we felt that this made the villa charming and different. The quiet location means that a car is needed to get around. The closest taverna is 15-20 minutes walk away, along the main road, which is fine in the daylight, but some caution is advised after dark and we carried phone torches to be visible to approaching cars. We walked to this taverna four times during our stay as it provided nice food at great prices. There are other tavernas a short drive (or longer walk) away in both Vasilikades and Magganos, good choices all around and more affordable than eating places in Fiskardo, for example. We predominantly stayed in the north of the island (as we already spent a few days on Ithaka beforehand) and explored a number of beaches (Dafnoudi being our favourite), drove to Fiskardo and Assos, but also drove down to Sami to see Melissani Cave. Every day we were looking forward to coming back to the lovely villa in the afternoon, to cool down by the pool and enjoy the wonderful views. We would love to come back one day!
Incredible views, peace and quiet
By The Crosby family on 25-May-2025The views from the terrace and the garden of this villa are absolutely jaw-dropping: bright blue sea, white cliffs and a ruined venetian fort on the headland in the foreground. The villa is like a 1920s time capsule and is full of charm - it even has a gramophone! It's quiet and private, with no sounds but the chirping of crickets and the 'beeping' of Scops owls at night. We saw geckos, buzzards and hoopoes and lots of butterflies and there are lemons, figs, almonds and grapes growing in the garden - it's such a biodiverse and green place. Anna is an incredibly kind and attentive host and nothing is too much trouble for her. She made us some delicious cheese pies and fruit, wine and cookies were waiting for us when we arrived. She helped us arrange a taxi transfer from the airport (with the lovely Yannis Fioratas) and answered all of my questions very promptly. The gardener very kindly gave us one of Anna's lettuces from the veg patch, too! There's a friendly one-eyed cat at the villa, Athena, who was waiting for us every morning on the doormat outside the back door, but was very polite and didn't come inside! She provided lots of entertainment for the children and nice company when we were drinking our morning coffees in the garden. The pool is clean and a decent size, though unheated so we didn't use it as much as we'd hoped to because the weather was a bit mixed. The only slight negatives were the lack of worktop space in the kitchen for food preparation and that the kitchen could do with a few more basics like a bread knife, scissors and wooden spoons. Also because this is essentially a family home that is shared with guests there is quite a lot of stuff on surfaces, so in the smaller bedroom there wasn't really anywhere for the children to put their books and toys and only one free drawer for their clothes. Overall though, we had a brilliant week and would highly recommend this unique villa.
Just magical
By Claire and Miles on 05-Sep-2024We had the most special time in this beautiful villa, in part thanks to the owner, Anna, who goes above and beyond to make sure you have a home from home experience. And, also because the location is so peaceful. The perfect place to recover from a fast life. The villa is set with in stunning grounds and isn't over looked. Out the back is the pool with enviable views down to Asos and the bay where Myrtos beach is situated. Out the other side is a fabulously large terrace with far reaching open views of the sea. Perfect for dinner and perfect for Pilates! There are 2 taverna's in walking distance, both are good and we had great fun at the Greek night! But, we stayed in mostly and enjoyed the peace of the village and the nature that surrounded us. The views are so incredible, you'd be hard pressed to find dinner with a better view! It's traditional in decor and set in a local village, you will truly feel like you've moved to Kefalonia here! Thank you Anna x
Family Holiday
By Hayley B., Uk on 04-Oct-2021We’ve just spent two glorious weeks at Villa Anna with our two sons (ages 25 and 23). We all needed to switch off and relax and this was the perfect place! The villa is a real, traditional Greek home, kept beautifully by Anna and her team and it was an absolute joy to be there. The views from all around the garden are truly spectacular and I loved my Meryl Streep moment every morning, opening the bedroom shutters to views over the garden, pool and sea towards Mirtos! You do need a car and the second shower room and toilet outside were a definite bonus!
A special place to stay
By Chris S on 20-Jun-2022Anna''s villa is quite delightful in a beautiful secluded location. Spectacular views from the terrace and swimming pool to the west allowing you to wash the sunset overt he Ionian Sea -what a way to enjoy a gin and tonic! The pool is totally private, clean and very safe. The villa is really well equipped with plenty of utensils to do as much or as little catering as you want and everything works really well. We will almost certainly be going back!
