We had a 14 night stay at Villa Anna in Kothreas at the end of September. Along with everyone else, we loved the location and setting, being perched up on the mountain side overlooking Assos in a very tranquil and peaceful setting and being West facing getting the last of the sun and some spectacular sunsets. Again as others have commented both Anna and Nezi next door couldn't be more helpful and are a delight. The welcome pack is both delicious and enormous. We told Anna we don't eat meat so had an abundance of vege offerings, fruit, wine, bread, milk and various savoury items along with her homemade jam. We ourselves run a luxury holiday cottage business in Cornwall so we sort of expect to find similar to what we provide and the villa didn't disappoint. Ok, there are some Greek specific things that are a little different to what we would get back home, but that aside the place villa was perfect. It is nice it is, as others pointed out, a home as opposed to a holiday home with nice personal touches inside. The pool, although very cold at this time of year, is a very nice size and depth and has great views. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay in Kefalonia with Assos only 10 mins away and Fiskardo just 15 mins. Being a little higher up, the temp was that little bit lower, which was nice, and also less mosquitos than further down the mountain. This was our 4th time on the island and the best place we've stayed in by far. If we went back for a 5th time, we'd be sure to contact Anna to stay again. Just back from a fabulous week at Villa Anna. It is more beautiful than the photos show and everything everyone has already said in the other reviews is all true! Thank you Anna for the homemade mousaka, cookies and delicious jams. Incredible views, lovely gardens and total privacy, peace and quiet! Easy to get to Fiskardo for evening meals (15 mins drive) and there are lovely local tavernas on the beaches and at Assos. Brilliant place to stay to explore the north of Kefalonia. We hired a small boat in Fiskardo, walked up to Assos Fort and snorkelled in the local bays. Perfect holiday and Anna and Nezi could not be more helpful.
Welcomed by amazing spread of homemade treats, cakes, pie made by Anna plus wine to wash it all down with was a beginning of a wonderful stay at Anna’s Villa. The villa itself had a lovely homely feel. It was clean, sheets and towels changed twice a week, lovely good size pool also cleaned twice a week and views to die for! Sun-downers whilst watching the sunset and almost no light pollution so star gazing was incredible. Anna, although not based on the island, was very helpful and a fantastic hostess, excellent communication, could not do enough to make everything perfect for us, I left the villa feeling like I have gained a friend. The location is fantastic, based on the North of the island it was only short drive to Assos, Fiskardo, many good local shops, tavernas/restaurants and beaches. Perfect quiet spot to relax.
