There are two comfortable bedrooms - both have superb views . A 3rd bedroom could be made available, but please check for details. The master bedroom has a fantastic double aspect and a large four poster bed. There is also a high quality folding bed, available as an optional extra, which can be placed in the large master bedroom if needed. A cot of of Italian design is also available - for which there is no charge, but we ask you to bring your own bed linen for this cot. Bedroom 2 has two single beds. Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the house or outside on grassy areas, thank you. We are also very sorry to say that pets are not allowed even though we are great lovers of pets ourselves.
The shower room is of very high standard.
There is a large farmhouse kitchen / dining room and lovely lounge with French doors which open onto the superb veranda where you can wine, dine and enjoy fabulous views of the valley and the mountains and the beautiful pool (kidney shape 10 m x 5 m) (open around 15 May until end September) from which there are more breathtaking views. The nearest restaurant (excellent food and ambiance) is 2.3 km from the house.There are about 20 restaurants within a 15 minute drive.
The local village is 8 - 10 minutes away. There are two general stores, a bar, newsagent, pharmacy, post office, ATM, bakery, hairdresser, and laundry.
The local town of Fossombrone has everything, and there are about 15 restaurants. The Blue Flag beaches of Fano are 30 minutes away by car. Fano has 140+ restaurants !
All rooms in the house have great character and all have restored beams. In the lounge there is a DVD / VCR/ FM system and a movie library of about 250 classic and top rated films.There are many board games etc. There is a superb new professional table tennis table in the large covered portico - so you can play all day, in all weather. There is a boxed set of Boules by Jaques of London. And don't forget the beautiful pool ! We have a new stone barbecue with a unique charcoal burning system which allows you to cook within 10 minutes of lighting. It really is simple to light and very efficient for cooking at different height levels. We have a one acre garden which is surrounded by our 7 acre corn-field. It is located in a spectacular rural position but close to our local village and to the towns of Fossombrone, Urbino and Fano.
We do not have a telephone line at Casa Rosa, and therefore don’t have 'full' WiFi. Many of our guests enjoy having a digital detox but there is MiFi (mobile WiFi) available, providing up to 1GB of complimentary access . This will provide access for low level usage, although may not be sufficient for streaming. Personal devices pick up mobile signal independently. There are numerous local WiFi spots available in our nearest town (Fossombrone) and one at the bar in our nearby village (Isola di Fano).
This Province of Pesaro-Urbino has masses of culture, superb countryside and lots of places to visit and things to do for children.
Fano - for great beaches in a beautiful town go to Fano . It is only 30 minutes by car to Fano's Blue Flag beaches and the town is a gorgeous part Roman and Renaissance town rich in art and architecture. There are many lovely shops, bars, about 140 restaurants, several beautiful squares, big street market every Wednesday and Saturday and a superb fish market every day. There is a busy fishing port and a huge modern marina. The beach areas are particularly appealing to children because there is everything there for them to do. There can be no better place to eat ice cream than in Fano, which has so many ice cream bars! A very elegant town, with restaurants everywhere - you will undoubtedly fall in love with Fano -so will the children.
Caves of Frasassi - Our visitors’ No 1 place of interest, including its popularity with children. A stupendous cave system with multi-lingual guides to escort you along its many well constructed pathways which lead through the incredible caverns. Urbino -The Renaissance jewel, equal in importance to Florence at that time. This is the home town of Rafael (you can visit his house) and the Court of Duke Federico da Montefeltro. A beautiful town and architectural gem - a 'must do' for lovers of culture! Aquafan - a fantastic water fun-park for all ages - voted 'tops' by families with children, but also fun for adults. Walking - immediately you leave the house you have a choice of lovely walks with spectacular scenery.
Eating out - This is a truly gastronomic Province with so many good places to eat that you are forever spoilt for choice! There are about 20 restaurants within a 15 minute drive. The nearest restaurant (excellent pasta and meats) is 2.3 km away. Fano has 140+ restaurants! Roast meats and home-made pasta are a speciality of this Province, and because there are a number of commercial fishing ports on the Adriatic coast, including in particular Fano, there are many restaurants specialising in fish, serving the most wonderful dishes (grilled, fried, baked, risotto, pasta). This area is renowned for its Brodetto (fish soup). In Fano and surrounding towns and villages (including our local area) the annual International Brodetto & Fish Soup festival is held from 12 September to 12 October. Excellent places for pasta and pizza are to be found everywhere so you can eat well without spending a lot and all within easy reach by car! All restaurants welcome children and make a special effort to ensure that their needs are looked after. You can eat truffles in many restaurants because nearby Acqualagna is the truffle centre of Italy. There is a White Truffle Festival in October / November every year when many Italian and International gourmets attend this important gastronomic event. There are cookery demonstrations by top chefs and you can buy produce from all over the Le Marche Region. There is also a special marquee where Sommeliers advise you of the best wines to taste. Best known Le Marche wines: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico and the superb Lacrima di Morro D'Alba (the vineyard is located to the north of Ancona). Other wines from the Region are Rosso Conero, Sangiovese, Bianchello del Metauro. There are vineyards all over this beautiful Region, many of which are within a 30 minute drive and open to the public and where you can buy their wines. There are two vineyards within a 10 minute drive of the farmhouse. You can also buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the many local producers.

Bird life is amazing, with Redstarts, Warblers, Red backed shrike, Green woodpeckers and Golden Orioles, also jays and buzzards. There are binoculars and a tripod to view all these from the veranda and reference books of birds in Europe. In the Gola del Furlo (about 30 minutes away by car) you can see Golden Eagles and many other bird species.
