Description

Beautifully located in a peaceful olive grove and surrounded by mature gardens, Villa Oliva is a lovely 4 bedroomed villa with a lovely private swimming pool. Consisting of a living room, dining room, spacious kitchen area, and 4 bedrooms there is plenty of room to relax in comfort.

Externally, the large garden, surrounded by olive groves lends itself to outdoor living, with shaded areas outside the house for al fresco dining or relaxing whilst taking in the sumptuous view.

The house is just below the tiny village of Campo, and a few minutes drive from the small town of Gallicano. The ancient and beautiful festival town of Barga can be seen from the house, and it's only a few kilometres drive from the market town of Castelnuovo. The classic "art" city of Lucca is an easy drive, as is Pisa and Florence.

Garfagnana is 'Hidden Tuscany' at its best. With its' stunning scenery it is the best area in Tuscany for walking and outdoor activities.

Villa in Olive grove

By Cornelia on 03-Sep-2025

The villa is beautifully situated in the middle of an olive grove. Very nice hosts who provide you with everything you need. The house is very well equipped. We had a lovely week and would book there again without hesitation.

Lovely

Lovely Villa with stunning views of the area and wildlife. Easy drives to Pisa and Lucca with also closer medieval villages to explore. We loved Barga and its restaurants and Castelnuovo Di Garfagnana . Villa is a lovely traditional villa that is well equipped and spacious. Has everything you need. True that the Road to the villa is windy and narrow but managed to drive our SUV hire car up to the villa without difficulty as there are plenty of passing places. Pool and surrounding clean and pleasant with plenty of shade if needed. Hosts very friendly and helpful."

Villa Oliva

By Heikki R. on 08-Jul-2025

We stayed one week in Villa Oliva and experience was fantastic. House is located in the middle of olive trees with oustandibg view over valley. Kitchen was well equipped and it had enough berooms for our needs (four). Pool was great to have because ”coldest” day during our stay was 32. You can easily do a day trip to Lucca, Pisa and Florance from here so location is quite central in case you want to see some great cities of Tuscany. Extra credit for good restaurant recommendations, easy check-in/-out process and great hosts. I would recommend reading guidance how to drive to the house carefully. I trusted navigator and Google obviously does not take into account that road has to be wider than 130 cm to be drivable with car . So read the information you’ll receive before coming to the house to avoid unpleasent surprises.

Relax from the start

The entire complex and property are maintained with great attention to detail. Even as a small group, we lacked nothing in the house itself. We were even greeted with a small Italian food basket and homemade olive oil. That's how you arrive in Italy. ;) The journey, sometimes along small and very narrow streets and paths, is a bit challenging, but you quickly get used to it. The house is ideal for relaxing days by the pool; the pool offers plenty of shady spots, and you can work off some energy playing table tennis and then cool off in the pool. An absolute must in the evening!... enjoying the unique view on the terrace. The owners quickly attend to all requests and fully respect your privacy. For example, pool cleaning and garbage disposal were taken care of before 8 a.m. One small area for improvement would be the insect protection on the upper floor; a similar solution to the one on the ground floor should be installed. However, this can be compensated for with insect plugs (which were also provided). All in all, we would book this accommodation again at any time. Thank you for the great days!"

Perfect

A Perfect Tuscan Escape. We had a truly memorable stay at this beautiful villa in Tuscany. It was perfectly suited to our family, with spacious and well-appointed bedrooms and bathrooms that made for a very comfortable base. The outdoor spaces were particularly impressive—plenty of room to relax, read, or simply enjoy the peace, with several little sun traps, offering a new favorite spot every few hours. The pool was clean, well-maintained, and ideal for cooling off after the various activities we discovered through Friends of Tuscany including mountain biking, wine tasting, trips to various towns and villages and a wonderful lady who came to the villa to teach us to make ravioli and cook for us. A major positive is the view. Looking out across the valley was like watching a living painting. As the sun moved through the sky, shadows flowed across the tree-covered hills and revealed different details of the villages and buildings tucked into the mountainsides. It was endlessly beautiful, and we often found ourselves just sitting and watching it change.A truly special place to unwind and enjoy the magic of Tuscany.

Fantastic view

Had a wonderful time in the very well equipped holiday home. The access road is narrow and steep, but once at the house the view is really magnificent.
