"It’s the airy hall that makes the first impression. Light and bright you’ll find lots of traditional features including mosaic floor tiles local stone and marble. The owner explained that this entrance used to be the garden next door!

I was prepared for a rustic Gozo farmhouse feel throughout but beyond the hall the home takes a dramatic turn for the contemporary with the most modern design furnishings and facilities. The result is real home comfort to demanding modern standards.

The living area is a bright open space where a state of the art kitchen and breakfast bar form an integral part of the lounge and dining room. Through the windows, the countryside views stretch for miles. You can see Victoria’s Citadel in the distance.

The inviting hallway takes you to the contemporary kitchen and lounge/dining space. Light reflected from the pool and Jacuzzi gives the lounge added calm. The kitchen is well-equipped but the very best part of a Gozitan summer is taking the dining outdoors so there’s a BBQ on the patio too.

There’s also a bathroom on the ground floor handy for the living space and the pool area.

Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor. It has a double bed and en-suite shower room.

The cream staircase opposite brings you to the first floor and 3 further bedrooms. 2 of these are double bedrooms - one with a large en-suite bathroom; the other with a Jacuzzi corner bath and balcony terrace to the rear of the house. There’s something magical about being able to wake to impressive countryside views of Gozo that stretch all the way to Victoria.

Bedroom 4 on the first floor is en-suite and designated a twin room with one single and one sofa bed. The sofa bed can sleep 2 especially if they’re children.

Take the spiral staircase to the 2nd floor to find Bedroom 5 with twin beds and en-suite shower. This bedroom has its own roof terrace with more dramatic far-reaching views to the Citadel.

Each of these Gozo holiday villa’s bedrooms are spacious, well designed and excellently furnished.

LOCATION: Santa Lucija Village

None of Gozo’s towns and villages are exactly bustling metropolises but even by their standards Kercem is small with a population of around 1,700 people. This Gozo Holiday home is in the calm and tranquil area of Santa Lucija on the outer fringes of Kercem.

The closest beaches are Xlendi Bay and Mgarr ix Xini. (4.5 (km away).

The nearest supermarket is 1.4 km away.

There is a local bakery The nearest restaurant is La Stanza in Triq l-Imghallem Victoria in 2.3km although Kercem does have a number of snack bars 900m from Kampnar. The capital town of Victoria has many restaurants.

Victoria is easily reached by hopping on Bus No 313 with the bus stop 5 metres from the villa.
