“We were looking forward to viewing this villa having been impressed by its beautiful pictures. Could it possibly live up to these or was it just cleverly edited photography?

The external front door led us into a small entrance hall with an internal yard to the main farmhouse door. We only had to open it to draw breath. The terraced windows were a picture frame surrounding a beautiful canvas. It began with water flowing seamlessly from the pool toward an iconic view of
Ta Pinu (Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu). A Church of international aclaim sitting perfectly in Twilights trajectory.

The infinity pool and pretty garden terrace have uniterrupted “front of house” views. Adjacent to the pool terrace is a large feature dining table with canvas top. In direct line of sight to the church, it makes a classie excuse for “dining out”. The peace and tranquillity of Twilight equal those of Ta Pinu.

Behind the dining table we find a five seater jacuzzi/ hot tub which promises the ultimate holiday top up.

Inside, a lounge, dining and kitchen space are finished with a homely cottagie feel. A pretty country dresser sits next to a dining table and open plan kitchen. The white painted finish gives the living space a distinct Mediterranean feel.

The entire farmhouse is elegantly and comfortably finished with stylish detail.

FARMHOUSE DESCRIPTION

Ground Floor:

he outer front door opens into a small entrance hall with 3-seater-bench and jardinière. Pretty limestone arches with 3 steps lead into an internal yard with outdoor seating.

Ahead, the inner front door brings you to a homely lounge with terrace views of the Infiniti pool and Ta Pinu beyond.

The lounge has a large plasma screen TV, settees and log fireplace.
The fully equipped kitchen includes an oven, stove, microwave, fridge, Freezer, dishwasher, espresso machine, coffeemaker, and 19-litre water-keg dispenser

There is laundry room with washing machine on this floor, together with a family shower room.

First Floor:

Bedroom 1 has two single beds, ensuite shower room and Bedroom 2 also has with two single beds and ensuite shower room.

Bedroom 3 has a lovely with king-size bed, full ensuite bathroom and window overlooking the pool and stunning views.

Bedroom 4 also with a king-size bed, ensuite bathroom and balcony promising the same landscape views.

Outdoors:

The Infinity Pool is pool is 3.6 m x 8.8m with 7 sun loungers.

A 5-seater jacuzzi Hot Tub is also available on the garden terrace adjacent the 10-seater outdoor dining table with Gazebo.

An inbuilt stone BBQ is also next to the jacuzzi and dining area.

A lovely mature garden completes the outdoor space.

LOCATION, Ghasri

If you take the Victoria-Gharb road to the Aqueduct and fork right, you will find the smallest village on the island nestled between the hills of iz-Zebbug and Ghammar.

The village of Ghasri sits amongst the fields and valleys of rural Gozo near to Victoria’s commanding Citadel and close to one of the best swimming spots on the island. Worthy of a stop is Tal Gordan a flat topped hill with an iconic lighthouse. At 180 metres above sea level, the Lighthouse towers over the village and stands proudly on top of Gurdan Hill. Inaugurated in 1853 the Lighthouse’s beam could be seen as far as 50 kilometres away so affording a fantastic 360-degree view when you get there. It’s a must for ramblers.

From Ghasri village square a road leads to the fabulous valley of Wied l-Ghasri 2.3km away from your Gozo holiday farmhouse. The Wied l-Ghasri area is a marvellous place for country walks or rewarding cycle rides, especially in winter and spring. The valley ends at the sea wedged between high cliffs where a secluded inlet makes an ideal spot for swimming snorkelling, and together with the sea surrounding it, a very popular spot for diving.

On the way be sure to stop at the charming old chapel dedicated to the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The two shallow bays of Xwejni and Qbajjar are both 4.1 Km away. Next to each other they have small pebbly beaches and rocky stretches that lead to clear blue water. Excellent for swimming they are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike and are popular with divers especially beginners. You’ll also find a few fishing boats here and a couple of bars and restaurants on the sea front.

The feast of Ghasri is celebrated on the first or second Sunday in June and is dedicated to Corpus Christi. Victoria has two big feasts, one in the third week of July and the other on 15 August.

The 308 bus will bring you to the centre of Victoria, where you will find a wide range of shops cafes,bars, and restaurants - and a wealth of history.
