“We should have guessed this villa would be a bumper bonanza holiday home. Alongside it’s sister property, Nirvana, next door, it offers superior class. Nestled above the tranquil and picturesque valley of Dahlet Qorrot with an oasis of palm trees, the villa has an extensive private pool terrace to enjoy many uninterrupted hours.

It may feel like a mini oasis but is ideally located, approximately a 5 to 10 minute walk into the village of Qala.

The villa itself is an extension of the superior outdoor space. A bright open family living space is linked by pretty limestone arches. Traditional local farmhouse features are blended tirelessly with moden amenity and distinctive boutique style furnishings.

Each bedroom has a boutique style hotel feel and comfort.

There is one key appeal to guests with mobility challenges or small children. The villa is situated on one ground level – no stairs!

PROPERTY DETAIL

Ground floor:

Through the front door is a lovely picture of limestone arches. The space is open plan with two narrow arches leading to a dining table extending into the family lounge with flat screen TV. Terraced doors highlight the pretty landscape.

Through another limestone arch, a contemporary cream Mediterranean painted kitchen is well equipped with a feature island.

There is a family bathroom with a shower and laundry room here as well as the three bedrooms.

Bedroom 1 has a King-sized double bed and ensuite bathroom.

Bedroom 2 has two single beds.

Bedroom 3 also enjoys a King-sized double bed.

Outdoor Area:

A large, pretty terrace surrounds the private pool. This is a considerable size 9.5m X 5m with sun loungers, and 6-seater dining table for those outdoor dining occasions.

A charcoal grill is on hand for the must-have BBQ. A second parasol provides additional cover for the hotter weather.

Additional information:
AC in the bedrooms and living space. These are operated by coins on a pay-as-you-use basis.

Location: Qala

Qala can be found at the easternmost edge of the Island. The name meaning 'port' most likely refers to the bay nearby and popular swimming area of Hondoq ir-Rummien. Stunning views across the sea to Malta and the tiny Island of Comino are a treat – best seen from the small courtyard of the church Il-Maddonna tal-Blat (Saint Mary of the Rocks). The ancient history of this settlement which dates back to the earliest time is also worthy of note (though the present settlement dates back to around the 1650s). Legend has it that the little church here was deliberately built facing neighbouring Island

Comino enabling Comino's inhabitants to follow Holy Mass from across the sea if the seas were too rough for a priest to cross to them. As for Qala's shoreline aside for a few sheltered inlets (like Hondoq Ir-Rummien) the coast is largely rocky with several interesting caves.

The prettiest of these is Ghar Minka, which can only be accessed by boat. Qala village square has developed into a little haven of restaurants and bars that seems to extend every year. It has quite a lively local atmosphere - laid back, of course.
