Description
Villa Mema is situated on a hillside of the harbour of Agia Efimia, a colourful yachting harbour with numerous little flint bays with crystal clear waters, little shops, friendly taverns, cafes and bars. The secluded and elevated position of the property makes the villa to a truly magical place for your holidays. Breathtaking views from every corner of the house across the bay of Agia Efimia, the Ionian Sea and the neighbour-island of Ithaca. Just a breath away from the centre of the village and all its entertainment facilities but still a peaceful and tranquil location offering a lot of privacy.The Villa (110m²) is built in accordance to the island's architecture. It is well equipped and tastefully furnished with selected traditional furnishings of highest standard and comfort. No surprise that the film star Penelope Cruz chose this place to stay during the filming of 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin'.
Outside, there are two large front terraces offering privacy and stunning views to the harbour of Agia Efimia and the sea. The pool terrace is equipped with 4 relaxing sun beds. Pool and front terraces are surrounded by different patios with shaded relaxing areas and decorated with a variety of lovely Mediterranean flowers such as oleanders, hibiscus, jasmines, roses.
The villa is arranged over 2 levels. On the ground floor, there is a well-designed spacious living room with air-conditioning, an open-plan dining kitchen and a bathroom with shower/wc. A staircase leads to the upper floor: here are 2 bedrooms (one with double bed and one with twins), with air-conditioning, balconies with superb views over the bay of Agia Efimia and a bathroom with a small bathtub and wc. The windows and balcony doors of the bedrooms are equipped with sliding mosquito/fly screens. A safe, a baby bed and high chair, pool towels, a charcoal BBQ, as well as wi-fi internet access are also provided and free of charge.
If you wish, we can arrange a taxi transfer for you from the airport or port of Kefalonia to Villa Mema and return.

By Carolyn Vieira on 10-Aug-2025When we pulled up to Villa Mema that first night we were taken aback at just how beautiful it was with all the pretty lights and the view of the beautiful lit up harbour. The Villa is secluded but within easy walk of the quaint, authentic, pretty village which has beautiful restaurants and bars. Mema was a wonderful hostess; she met us on arrival and was so warm and friendly. She had left us some groceries which was very welcome. The villa had everything we needed and the air con was much needed. Lida at Kefalonia Holiday Homes was marvellous during the months to the lead up of our holiday. She was in touch helping us with enquiries and making sure everything was in place. It was great to have that communication and personal touch. We will definitely return to Villa Mema. Our friends and family who saw the photos have asked us for the details as they want to go. Thank you all for making our holiday a wonderful & memorable one!

The warm welcome from the landlady ‘Mema’, the warmth that can be felt down to the smallest detail, the cleanliness and a few nice touches in the fridge exceeded all expectations.I can only give this accommodation five stars, anything less would not do it justice.Everything was really perfect, from the organisation to the friendly contact with Linda and Mema's warmth.Many thanks, best regards from the Springer family from Germany
Fantastic Villa
By Lisa Yorke on 12-Jul-2025Just returned from a fabulous 11 nights at Villa Mema. The villa was lovely and the views from the pool spectacular. Location is perfect - very private yet a few minutes from the lovely harbour with all its lovely restaurants. We will definitely return!
Villa Mema - A perfect place!

It's so close to everything you need yet set in an idyllic location that not only offers fantastic 360 degree views but is so peaceful. The pool is an added bonus and all arrangements were perfect. Fabulous villa
By Katie and Tim on 31-May-2025This is the most wonderful villa, gorgeous views of the harbour. Great pool and veranda, Mema was delightful and everyone in Agios Effimia incredibly friendly. Beaches, Yellow boat hire, tavernas and views fabulous. Couldn’t have been any more perfect. We are planning our next visit.
