QO aka Quinta das Oliveiras is located in Lagos on the Western Algarve, Portugal. Regarded as one of the finest Quintas within the region the property could be best described as an eclectic mix of Portuguese elegance and ‘old school’ glam. Nestled in the hills of Calicas, overlooking the historical city centre and the Atlantic Ocean, QO offers the perfect secret escape for those that just want to kick back, relax and enjoy…Approached via a 300m tree lined gated driveway, upon arrival you are met by QO’s imposing yet classical lines. Designed by Mario Martins, one of Portugal’s most highly revered architects, the property embraces many original and traditional Portuguese features, whilst retaining a feel for modern living. The stunning 2.5 acre tropical gardens which circle QO are mature, well manicured and rather magical. Within the grounds sits a tennis and pickleball court court and four hole putting green. The main terrace space includes a large swimming pool, pool side bar with BBQ, pool table and table tennis table. There is also an enclosed play area for children with trampoline, play house and fairy garden.
On entering the property you are met with a grand staircase, patina designed wall and a swinging chandelier. The interior offers a sense of colour and playfulness which is further supported by the vibrant contemporary artwork throughout. QO is in itself a character that offers both a sense of uniqueness and a lifetime full of wonderful holiday memories.
The property provides complete privacy whilst being only 3 minutes from the golden sands of Meia Praia/Lagos City Centre - and only 45 minutes from Faro Airport.

From the unique interior design touches to the spacious grounds, including a huge in-ground pool and outdoor bar, every detail felt thoughtfully curated. The home struck the perfect balance between style and comfort — plenty of room for everyone to relax, gather, and enjoy each other’s company. The common areas were beautifully designed for both connection and privacy, and the outdoor space was a true highlight — ideal for morning coffee and pickleball, afternoon lounging, or evening conversations under the stars. Our host/owner TJ was attentive and responsive, making the entire experience seamless from start to finish. I highly recommend it.

TJ was such an incredible person to work with—friendly, responsive, and great at managing expectations so everything went smoothly from start to finish. He also connected us with the best florists, caterers, and shuttle drivers. Nuno the shuttle driver effortlessly transported our large group throughout the stay. Every detail was handled with such care that we truly got to relax and enjoy our wedding. Our guests also gave us the best feedback and are still talking about how magical it all was. Highly, highly recommend!

The layout was excellent for our group, with a self-contained apartment on the ground floor offering ideal suitability for young children etc. The views and location are perfect, with peace and tranquility allowing for good night's rest, all while being within walking distance of town centre and beaches. We made use of all facilities to include full size tennis court, mini golf, swimming pool and the outdoor bar area. Everything was kept perfectly with cleaners and gardeners attending regularly, although not intruding on our privacy. The host TJ couldn't have done enough, entirely through the process from making initial payment right until we left. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking a luxury break away. Wonderful Week of Birthday Celebrations
By Ellie Davison on 29-Jun-2024I would highly recommend booking a stay at the QO villa. Everything was just as advertised and TJ was very easy to organise things with. The yacht charter and caterers that TJ recommended were also great. Our yacht charter with Marina Boat Charters was definitely a highlight of the trip. We also loved the cinema room - this quiet oasis meant that I was able to escape from the heat when it got a little too toasty outside. We also had fun playing tennis (badly) and the putting green. All of the rooms were very clean, nicely decorated and we had plenty of space to spread out as a group of 7 adults. The location was good - very private, yet a 25 minute easy walk to the beach and local bars / restaurants. I have already suggested this property to a friend who is organising a 50th birthday next summer!

By Jodi on 09-Jun-2024If you are looking at this property and it’s available, book it, you will not be disappointed! TJ the owner is such a delight to deal with. He responds to questions and emails very quickly. He meets you on arrival to do a tour of the villa. QO is in a great location, we used Ubers during our stay and the ride into Lagos town, under 10 minutes and to the large Pingo Doce supermarket and the lovely sandy beach with the board walk 5 mins drive away. QO is very tastefully furnished and all top quality, it has plenty of everything you’ve ever wanted. A welcome pack was left for us and honestly we didn’t need to shop for a few days! We were a family of 14 to include, grandparents, parents, children and a baby and the villa had more than enough space. Outdoor space is fabulous too, it has a bar, BBQ, fridges, freezers, huge dining area, grassed area, sofa area, 2 other seating areas, 4 hole chip and putt, tennis court, pool table, table tennis and of course the swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers. Can’t thank TJ enough for letting us rent his beautiful villa, our family made very special memories here - we wished we stayed longer!
