Description
DescriptionModern, four-bedroom villa, all ensuite, with a fifth bedroom with 2+2 twin beds and private bathroom on the basement level, 5 bathrooms + ground floor toilet in total. Wi-Fi boosters throughout with good connection on all 3 levels of the house and garden.
There is a sizeable pool, full AC cooling and underfloor heating. Located within a new development with some villas still being finished in the village of Portelas, in the village there is a local shop open 6 days a week and 3 bars / cafes that do traditional Portuguese food and bbq fish, prawns and meat with drinks at lunch and dinner times. The village is a 3km and a five-minute drive from the beautiful town of Lagos and 10 minute drive from Mia Praia Beach with many others close by. Known as the jewel of the Algarve, Lagos has countless bars, restaurants, marina, beaches, old town, pointe de Piedade, etc. Multiple golf courses within a 10–20-minute drive of the villa, even more within 30 minutes.
Exterior:
Driveway, 2 car port, front garden, big side patio with fixed standing unit with sink and surface for BBQ, BBQ grill, 10 person tables, chairs and Umbrellas, L shaped private swimming pool, 11 meters by 7 meters, attractive garden and 6 sun loungers.
Interior.
Ground floor Living area: 2 huge windows above and beside the front door allowing for views of the mountain of Monchique from the wide L staircase and upstairs landing. Expansive open plan living area with well equipped kitchen. Dining area that seats 8 comfortably with space and chairs for 2 more, lounge area with 3 sofas and 55” smart TV, with apps for all your favorite streaming and local Portuguese cable tv option. Four large sliding doors spanning the entire downstairs give incredible light and pleasant ventilation / breezes through the house.

First floor:
Master Bedroom 2: Kingsize bed with walk in dressing area, double glass sliding doors give access to front balcony, single glass door gives access to rear wrap around balcony.
Double Bedroom 3: Double bed with walk in dressing area, double glass sliding doors give access to rear wrap around balcony.
Twin Bedroom 4: Twin Beds with fitted wardrobes, double glass sliding doors give access to rear wrap around balcony.
Basement:
Garage area: Large open plan area used as games room and gymnasium, skylight window gives light from garden patio. Table football and table tennis at one end, at the other end is modern gym equipment and machines, cross trainer, bench, weights, resistance bands and yoga mat for good variation and all-round workout. Large garage door which, when opened, brings a breeze all the way through the basement and up the stairs. There is one mountain bike for cycling. It takes between 10-20 minutes to get to Lagos, beach equipment.
Twin Bedroom 5: Twin beds with two pull out additional beds beneath. Wardrobe unit with drawers, shelves and hanging rail. Note: This is a basement room without windows, potentially perfect for kids to sleep in and stays lovely and cool. Private bathroom adjacent to the entrance of the bedroom.
The villa is modern, spacious, airy and light, based on a new development in Potelas, a small village 2km from Lagos Marina and large Pingo Doce supermarket (5-7minutes by car) and 3km from Lagos Old Town Center (7-10 minutes by car).
Portelas has a local shop open Monday to Saturday and 3 cafes / bars that serve breakfast, Lunch and dinner, with beers and wines, traditional Portuguese BBQ with fish / meat / prawns and chips / rice / salad etc and also soups / set menus at a lower price than the restaurants in town, the foods pretty good and its local prices not tourist prices so we like it.
Check-in is at 4pm with check out at 10am, but we will try to accommodate flight times where possible. A damage deposit will be required of £500 which will be fully reimbursed within 1 week of your departure. Preferred change over day is Saturday during high season.
30% deposit of total rental value must be paid, where possible, 7 weeks in advance prior to arrival date with remaining balance paid no later than 45 days prior to arrival date.
A 70% refund of your deposit will be given if cancelation of your booking is made 45 days prior to your arrival date.
If booking is made with less than 45 days prior to arrival date, the full balance must be paid upfront in order to confirm and reserve, no refunds will be given once paid.

By Emily on 09-Aug-2025We had a great holiday in this villa. The space is great for young families, the pool, outside area and living space work really well and huge space. Sam met us on first day with a warm welcome. We had a few issues with showers that Sam sorted straight away. All the communication leading up to the holiday was well managed. We have been to the resort Lagos many times, this villa does require a car or uber to get into town, but plenty of space for parking or Ubers easily accessible. Great restaurant at the bottom of the hill.
Fantastic luxurious villa
By Byrne Family on 24-Aug-2025We had a fabulous week long stay in Villa da luz, everything we needed was there with lots of space for our group to enjoy - table tennis, pool, gym. The process of booking /payment was managed efficiently by Simon, as was any response to questions we had on the lead up to our stay, so easy to deal with. Samantha was very responsive and friendly. The restaurants close to the villa (2 min walk) were very good and excellent value.. We went into Lagos most days too, which was just a 4 minute uber ride from the villa. Would highly recommend a stay here and we look forward to returning back soon.
Fantastic place to stay
By Ian kennedy on 01-Aug-2025This was a great place to stay and we honestly couldn't find fault with anything other than to perhaps suggest they leave a few more mugs in the cupboards!! The villa is enormous with plenty of space and fantastic clean modern decor. The pool (and all the pool toys left there) was a real bonus being both large enough for swimming but also having shallow and deeper ends for young and older children alike. Lovely quiet location with a 2 minute walk down to a small cafe and bar and another two minutes to another cafe and small shop. We took ubers into Lagos each day that cost around 5 - 6 euros on average and only 8-10 minutes to get there. The owners communication was perfect and the property management owner, Samantha, came round just to make sure everything was fine and we ended up chatting about all sorts for 45 minutes - very friendly and very helpful! Great place in a great location !

A wonderful, clean and spacious villa
By Dom on 24-Jul-2025Just returned today from a fantastic week at the villa. Simon was very responsive and answered all of our questions. He also ensured that the deposit was returned to us, in full, on the day we left. The villa was clean, spacious and perfect for a family group with a well equipped kitchen, good bbq, games room and pool, Sam, who manages the villa came to see us on our first day to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend and hope to return in the future!

Super spacious, modern, very clean & tidy, air con throughout, great WiFi and with a fantastic host in Simon and Manager in Samantha. Was very conveniently located with major shops, restaurants, coffee shops and beaches all within 5-10min drives. Was also segregated enough to enjoy some privacy. We will most definitely be returning and highly recommend.

Week at Villa de Luz
By Hayley on 26-Jun-2025We have had the most amazing week at this beautiful villa. The villa had everything you need and more and it is furnished to a very high standard. It’s in a great location, only 5 minutes drive to Lagos and there is a shop, cafe and restaurant 3 mins walk away. The communication from Simon and Sam, the property manager was brilliant. We had one small issue and it was dealt with immediately. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the villa and we will definitely be back!
