Steps lead up to the courtyard and front door. Spacious entrance hall & guest cloakroom, with utility room off. It provides the perfect setting for peaceful walking, hiking, canoeing, horse-riding, bird-watching, fishing and nature lovers alike. It is a great place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of busy beaches and resorts, ideal if you are looking for artistic inspiration & some chillax time ! And for those feeling slightly more energetic there are excellent dirt tracks ideal for mountain biking and running, or even a spot of windsurfing on the beautiful crystal clear lake water! Quite simply, you can do as much or as little as you desire.
Algarve's Beaches: The Algarve is renowned for its ample choice of stunning sandy beaches, and this villa is perfectly located to access all the very best beaches in the Algarve including surfers beaches on the west coast. Locally, you can choose from Meia Praia & Lagos, Alvor and Praia da Rocha, Portimao. They are all approximately 20 minutes drive away. Further west, there are 'private' secluded beaches and coves between Burgau & Salema across to Sagres. On the west coast there are several world renowned totally natural beaches ideal for surfing with long lines of rollers sweeping in from the open Atlantic. You will be spoilt for choice…but if we’re pushed to chose…try Arrifana, Carrapateira, Odeceixe, Amoreira and Clerigo
Local Golf: There are 5 golf courses in the local area. The most well known, Penina, was designed by Henry Cotton and has hosted some of the world's greatest golf tournaments. Penina is approximately 20 minutes drive away from Casa Do Lago. Palmares Golf Course overlooks some of the loveliest stretch of sandy beaches at Meia Praia. The course at Parque da Floresta is a more recent addition and Boa Vista is the newest designed as a championship course. Alto Golf in Portimao is also easily accessed. All the above golf courses are approximately 20-30 minutes drive away.

By Jen Blake on 18-Aug-2025We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The villa was spacious and well equipped and the pool was a big plus in the hot weather! I have mobility difficulties and found the steps up the the front of the villa a bit tricky but once inside, everything was on one level, with an open -plan kitchen/lounge area. The day we spent on Roger's boat was unforgettable. Roger and Jonny were such good company and the time just flew by. We agreed to look after Roger and Eva's cats during our stay and the kids loved having them around. They also enjoyed going to a water park called Slide n Splash. We did most of our shopping at the supermarkets in Lagos and cooked and ate at the villa. It was lovely sitting outside for breakfast and evening meals - there was always a nice, shady spot to be found, even when the sun was at its hottest. The bedrooms were well air-conditioned, and the beds quite comfortable. The walk-in shower was excellent and all of the bedrooms were en-suite, although one of the toilets was out of order, which was a bit inconvenient. Thank you to Roger and Eva for a great stay - it would be good to be back one day!

A lovely, light and airy villa
By Roger W. on 27-Oct-2018We visited for 2 weeks in early September - a lovely villa, in a peaceful location, in some lovely countryside. Very well equipped and comfortable. Spotlessly clean when we arrived. Helpful owners answered any questions quickly. Excellent sized pool surrounded by an interesting garden. Would happily rent again.
INCREDIBLE HOME FROM HOME
By Nicholas P. on 18-Jun-2017After extensive travel staying in hotels, villas and b&b's we must say that Eva and Roger where the perfect home owner managers that we have EVER had the pleasure to meet and become friends who made our stay at their villa home special. They have everything set up as if you where in your own home with extensive kitchen and utility room cleaning products, toilet rolls, beer and wine fridge (full when we met Eva who said help yourselves) we did replace what we used even though they said not to. They have an awesome dog Bella and cat Minnie who were a delight to look after. They do not have to stay but as we are pet lovers with dogs we said they did not have to go to the kennel or cattery. There is plenty of wildlife to capture on camera for wildlife photographers out there. I am a professional photographer and captured a Bonellis eagle parrying with another raptor. Iberian hares, red-rumped swallows fledging, golden oriels, azure winged magpies, palid swifts, stork, heron, little egret, common waxbill, gold finch, serin, white scorpion, several varieties of butterfly and dragonfly, bee, hornet, cheeky sparrows, jay, bee eater, the list goes on and all this within the property extensive 30 acre grounds and surrounding countryside. You could stay here without travelling being something for all tastes. This honestly is the best villa home that we have ever stayed in. Roger is an awesome Jazz trombonist and had the pleasure to listen to his band several times whilst on our two week break. Thank you Eva and Roger for your kind and friendly hospitality.
Beautiful villa with outstanding views
By George A. on 21-Jul-2016We has a wonderful week in a beautiful villa which provided everything you could possibly wish for. The pictures really do not do it justice, it is fabulous!Eva and Roger were great and provided us with lots of information about things to do in the area and restaurants to visit locally. Our day out on the yacht was one of the highlights of the holiday. The villa is close to Lagos and Alvor , where one of our favourite restaurants is, so a beach is within easy reach if you fancy a change from the pool. It was great to be able to feed the terrapins in the Lake, they are really friendly but watch your toes! The views were stunning and it was really peaceful both during the day and in the evening where you could sit out on one of the many terraces and watch the stars. The villa was also close to the kart track which kept our teenager amused. All in all we had a fantastic time and will definitely book this villa again next time we are in Portugal.
