Head to Corte Campedella

By Anonymous on 25-May-2015

We have recently returned from a wonderfully relaxing week’s stay in Apartment 5A, Corte Campedella. We warmly recommend the apartment to anyone wanting a comfortable and quiet retreat, away from the busy lakeside properties. The apartment has been decorated with care and was clean and well maintained. We particularly appreciated the well appointed kitchen/dining area. Its location provides seclusion and quiet, yet is the perfect base from which to explore – a car being essential. It is only 12 minutes from Lake Garda. We were able to make day trips to Verona, Mantua, Vicenza and even as far as Padua during our stay. We particularly enjoyed visiting nearby Solferino. Linda, the owner was very helpful prior to our stay and thoughtfully provided recommendations for local restaurants, one of which we enjoyed on our final night. We didn’t use the pool, but for those favouring leisurely afternoons or somewhere to cool off after a hot day, it certainly looked inviting. If you are looking for somewhere to be based off the more tourist trodden routes, whilst being ideally situated to visit them, head to Corte Campedella.

Home from home

By Lyn Carter on 17-May-2015

What a wonderful holiday we had! The apartment was very clean and extremely well equipped, especially the kitchen. There was also a large DVD collection in the living room which was great to entertain the children before they went to bed each night. The mattresses on all the beds were comfortable, even the fold down bed that the youngest of our three children slept on. With 5 of us in the apartment it was good to have two en-suite shower rooms. The pool was a really nice size and quite often we had the pool to ourselves which was lovely. It was so nice to relax by the pool and watch the swallows dive bombing the water as the sun was going down. The setting is so tranquil, amongst the vineyards, and yet the hustle and bustle of the lake is just a 15-20 minute drive away. We ate in most nights but it was great to have the pizzeria/trattoria just a few minutes walk away at the end of the road so that we could have a local glass of wine and not worry about having to drive home. The owners of the pizzeria were so welcoming and in typical Italian style, were very kind and attentive to the children. My husband and I, being wine lovers, did some wine tasting at the local vineyards which was one of the main reason we booked this apartment and we were not disappointed. We are so glad that we didn't book an apartment directly on the lake as it was so nice to come away from the tourist trail that we experienced during the day and back to the serenity of the "true untouched Italy" which we found at Bande, Cavriana. Apart from visiting the lake during our stay we also took the train to Venice, Verona and Milan from Desenzano. Car parking was free at the station which was a plus! We can't recommend this apartment highly enough. Linda was very helpful prior to our departure providing us with recommendations of places to eat/visit. There was a comprehensive information booklet in the apartment and many leaflets on local attractions. We will definitely be recommending to friends and family and hope to return ourselves soon! Thanks again.
