One can sit and watch the sunrise or watch all types of boats, from fishing boats to pleasure boats or cruise liners sail or cruise past. Within walking distance and easy access to some of the nicest Lavada walks in Madeira and a short distance from two golf courses. It is an ideal location for those who want a resort holiday away from the busy city of Funchal. By Maureen & Michael Scott on 25-Jun-2025Had a brilliant holiday on the beautiful island of Madeira but the icing on the cake was this amazing apartment in Caniço top floor 13 stories up with a rap round balcony where you can follow the sun from sunrise to sunset or have all day shade if you wish. Canico is situated midway between the airport and Funchal and we think is the ideal location for exploring the island. The apartment is bright and airy spotlessly clean with a super modern kitchen, the bathroom has a powerful walk in shower and laundry. There’s a tv room with a smart tv with uk channels and even an Alexa. Down on the street there are a good selection of restaurants and a couple of mini markets and an amazing bakery that you must visit. Use the taxi provided the driver has perfect English and helps with your luggage and shows you around the apartment. Use the local modern buses they are a great way of seeing the island. Hire a car for a few days if you feel confident best for exploring the middle and north of the island go for an automatic it’s so much easier, lastly be sure to try a few glasses of poncha but not if you’re driving. Definitely want to return and this apartment will be number one

Fantastic apartment with panoramic views and great location
By Sylvia Hamill on 15-Jun-2025We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay in this lovely spacious well equipped apartment. It had everything - comfortable bed, powerful shower, tv room , reading room,fast internet, an Alexa for music, laundry facility and easy to use kitchen appliances. The icing on the cake is an amazing wrap around terrace with fabulous views of the ocean and the landscape in the surrounding area. As well as exploring the island and walking the levadas we enjoyed spending time in the local area. It was relaxing strolling along the promenade ,spending time at the beach and swimming in the sea under the watchful eyes of the lifeguards. There are plenty of local restaurants, well stocked supermarkets and the bus service to Funchal is located a few minutes from the apartment. Overall five stars 🤩

A Tranquil Retreat with Stunning Panoramic Ocean Views in Caniço de Baixo

This apartment offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, with the horizon stretching endlessly before you and Desertas islands in plain sight. Watching an uninhibited view of the sun rising and seting over Madeira’s southern coast from the balcony was truly spectacular. The calming sound of the sea gently lapping on the shore created a peaceful and soothing atmosphere throughout our stay. It was the perfect natural soundtrack for relaxing mornings with coffee or quiet evenings unwinding after exploring the nearby scenic walks and coastal spots. I would highly recommend this apartment which is ideally located with close access to cafes, restaurants and the local promenade for a truly brilliant stay.
