Description
Set in the heart of the breathtaking Orcia Valley, Villa Le Fontanelle offers a truly exceptional stay for those seeking relaxation, history, and the beauty of Tuscany. Overlooking this UNESCO-listed landscape, the villa sits near the famed Via Francigena, a medieval pilgrimage route, and offers postcard-perfect views of the charming town of Pienza, framed by an ancient oak tree—one of the oldest in the Val d’Orcia.Villa Le Fontanelle was lovingly restored by the Gonzi family in 2003. Drawing on their experience from previous renovations, they preserved the home’s original charm while adding modern comforts. From terracotta floors to antique Tuscan furnishings, every detail reflects a respect for tradition combined with luxurious touches.

The villa's landscaped grounds are designed to complement the natural beauty of the Orcia Valley. A spacious lawn allows for unobstructed views, while terracotta pots with geraniums, wild roses, lavender, and rosemary surround the villa. Sublime
By Polantine on 02-May-2020After viewing numerous properties, I chose Le Fontanelle also helped by the positive reviews, and the place did not disappoint expectations! ||The property is very beautiful, tasteful, well-kept and clean, 5 minutes by car from Monticchiello, a small and delightful village, and 10 minutes from Pienza. In an ideal position to relax and regenerate while being immersed in greenery and silence. ||The room and bathroom, as well as the common areas are large and comfortable. Breakfast is a pleasure for the sight and the palate, served in a bright and welcoming room, with homemade desserts, cakes, biscuits and jams. ||But what made the stay so pleasant was also the sweetness, kindness and availability of the owners, who immediately welcomed us with warmth and with whom it was pleasant to have nice chats. Serena and her husband know how to convey their love for their land and their work, making you want to return to Le Fontanelle as soon as possible.||I would say a very successful birthday present for my partner

Great first leg on our Italian Honeymoon
By Debra on 29-Jun-2013We stayed at Le Fontanelle in June 2013 for our Honeymoon. Our flight to Italy was cancelled so we missed a day and a half in Siena, but the hotel really made up for it. They upgraded our room, gave us a great bottle of house wine and olive oil, and really just made us feel special. Views from the hotel are amazing and the staff are really welcoming and friendly. Would love to go back here and would highly recommend to anyone.
