Description

Villa Near Montone, Umbria, Italy. Peaceful and secluded yet a tranquil walk from the beautiful hilltop town of Montone.
Stunning country home, ensconced in over twenty acres of private grounds, Casa di Luce nestles into a hill in verdant Umbrian countryside, a few minutes from the beautiful ancient hill top town of Montone. Surrounded by lawns, olives, woods and a mountainous horizon, anyone staying at Casa di Luce will appreciate the superb views and the special sense of peace and calm.

The villa has been lovingly restored and decorated in a modern chic style that blends seamlessly with the traditional stone walls and ancient wood beamed ceilings. Special attention has been paid to indoor lighting to create an intimate, but open and airy space. Swimming in the infinity edge pool, with a glass of wonderful Italian wine at hand, or just relaxing after a hard day of visiting idyllic local medieval villages and towns, Casa di Luce is ideal for friends and for families in search of a place of style, beauty and tranquility.

This villa is perfect for friends or families as the reception rooms are large and allow plenty of private space. The outdoor deck, by the kitchen garden, is a dream for watching glorious sunsets with a cocktail or the shooting stars at night. The covered loggia is perfect for barbecues and outside dining.

The ground floor has cool tiled flooring and is seamlessly open plan in the living areas. The entrance hall leads to a small office with a library for guests to pick and choose from, TV/video games room, comfortable drawing room leading to the pool with a traditional fireplace for cooler evenings and a huge well stocked kitchen/dining room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the valley below. A well equipped utility room leads off from the kitchen. On the other side of the entrance hall is a double bedroom suite, with a dressing room with a beautiful claw-foot bath and chandelier and a separate shower room and doors leading to the garden and its own patio.

The wrought iron staircase leads to the upstairs bedrooms and master suite. On this floor there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, each with their own bathroom opposite, and the master suite with its own dressing room, superb bathroom, fireplace and a wrought iron staircase leading up to the tower room with views across the valley and sleeping for an additional 2 people if requested. The master suite has its own intimate private patio and outdoor staircase leading back to the front gardens. All bedrooms (and the tower room) have remote controlled ceiling fans for warmer evenings. All bathrooms have a hairdryer.

The surrounding gardens and Olive grove are awash with gorgeous plants and flowers. The pool area is stunning, loungers, hammocks and so much more! The pool annex hosts a table tennis table and secluded area for a spot of yoga or croquet; the kitchen garden is planted from May - September.

Umbrian dreams come true

By Gordon Rustin on 18-Jun-2022

Our family ranging from 5 months to 73, had a perfect week at Casa di Luce. From the moment we arrived we were enchanted by the beautiful setting of this villa with spectacular views from its elevated position over the classical Umbrian countryside. The owners have taken such obvious care in designing and decorating the villa gardens and pool area. We so enjoyed having breakfast in one area perfectly shaded by two trees from the morning sun. The views of the setting sun over the hills from the other covered eating are so memorable with Jasmin cascading down three pillars. We had no issues with the many steps inside and outside the house which are necessary for a house built on a hillside. It was thrilling seeing the views from the large infinity swimming pool. The charming village of Monotone is less than 5 minute drive away and the excellent prepared food shop Lo Speido and supermarket only 10 minutes away in Umbertide. What a find

I already want to go back!!!

By TJLDJL on 01-Oct-2019

My family stayed in this house for a week in July, 2019 and we all fell in love with it. The house is so beautiful, clean, spacious, & comfortable. The yard is huge and the pool is heavenly (seriously- the views from the infinity pool are amazing!!). Even the bathrooms in this house are wonderful. The landscaping/design/artwork both inside and outside is gorgeous. The owners clearly put their hearts into this property. I cannot recommend this house enough The town, Montone, is wonderful as well. Great people, great restaurants, and so very charming. I already want to go back!!! Left on Jul 24, 2019 for a stay in Jul 2019

Stunning villa a truly special place

By Simon Y on 23-Aug-2019

Left on Aug 23, 2019 for a stay in Aug 2019 We could not be more happy with our stay and experience at Casa Di Luce, it is a beautiful stylish property. Created with love, it feels like a family home, and has everything you'd hope for to make the stay special. The property is really spacious and stylishly decorated, and feels like a really special place to be. Outside is equally spectacular, the views and sunsets are incredible, the gardens and pool are gorgeous, and it has some lovely touches like a vegetable and herb garden we were told we can take fresh produce from. The local medieval village Montone, it stunning, and has lots of lovely restaurants. I could not recommend Casa Di Luce more, it will exceed all your expectations.
