Description

A traditional Turkish Cypriot cottage in Upper Ozankoy with a large secluded and quiet garden, a private 10 x 5m swimming pool regularly maintained by Cyprus Pools Ltd, vine terrace, stone arched veranda for shaded summer living and lovely sea and mountain views.

Situated on a quiet road up to Bellapais with its lovely Abbey. The garden is surrounded by stone walls or hedge, so is secure and private and contains many citrus trees, avocado, peaches, apricots, figs etc, as well as flowering shrubs and palm trees. There are some large cypress trees giving welcome shade in summer. The house has a sitting room with open fire, a dining hall, a kitchen and downstairs toilet. Upstairs is a large sun deck and 2 en-suite bedrooms with an interconnecting lockable door. There is an outside staircase and a steep inside stairway.

Next to the pool stands the Winter House , built recently to make the most of the winter sun. This has now been extended to provide self contained accommodation for two, with a sitting room, small kitchen and a double bedroom with ensuite shower room. This makes for ideal two generation family stays, or more space for larger families. These two houses are never let independently. If guests need the winter house accommodation, making a total of beds for six, then an extra £200 per week should be added to the listed price.

The garden is large, leafy and secluded and contains quite a few interesting plants. The house was built in Ottoman times, and was modernised in the 1990s.

Petit Ménage Ozankoy

By Eoin J Lawrence on 14-Sep-2019

My wife and I stayed here 14-24 September inc. we have stayed in Northern Cyprus on numerous occasions and this cottage has been the best by far. It’s location was ideal for us (though we did hire a car) As for the cottage itself it met our needs completely it’s design afforded a lot of shade if needed though also plenty of sunshine areas especially around the pool. There are a couple of good restaurants in walking distance and a lot more within a short drive. It is also handy for the harbour town of Kyrenia. All arrangements from the initial rental to hiring a car were easy Pauline the owner was very good to deal with. Everything went according to plan from our arrival at Larnaca airport yo our departure. Pauline’s local agent Kemal was a delight to deal with and everything happened as arranged. We are regular visitors to this part of northern Cyprus and will definitely look to rent Petit Meanage again in the future

We spent a wonderful week at this property, a quirky authentic villa set in a really lovely garden. The pool was great.Good location for exploring the local area. Pauline, the owner was very helpful with all her communication. Would definitely visit again.

Peaceful and relaxing

By Gillian Clark on 14-Jun-2019

I stayed at Petit Menage for the last two weeks in June this year and really enjoyed my time there. The house is a home not a holiday let, with everything that you would find in your own home - sauces, spices, cooking oil in the kitchen cupboards, cleaning materials etc., and even a pair of binoculars in the lounge. Anyone expecting large picture windows and a large airy lounge will be disappointed. As this is an old renovated cottage the walls are thick and the windows small and therefore downstairs (lounge/dining room) are quite dark, but furnishings are comfortable and in keeping with local tradition. However, with wonderful weather at the end of June I spent all my time outside, wandering round the lovely (large) secluded garden or in and out of the pool. The Winter House by the pool has a fridge and kettle which I found very useful. A car is really a necissity unless like trudging through the summer heat carrying bags from the supermarket. There are small shops and a butcher in the village but it can still be a tireing walk in the summer. There are also several good resturants nearby, including Errol's which is the nearest and very convenient - the food is reasonable and the service is friendly. I've stayed at at least eight other villas in Ozankoy and I think Petit Manage is my favorite. Would I stay there again? Like a shot! What did I like best? The privacy, the large garden and pool and efficient aircon in the bedroom!
