A traditional Turkish Cypriot cottage in Upper Ozankoy with a large secluded and quiet garden, a private 10 x 5m swimming pool built in 2008, vine terrace, stone arched veranda for shaded summer living and lovely sea and mountain views. Situated on a quiet road up to Bellapais with its lovely Abbey. The garden is surrounded by stone walls or hedge, so is secure and private and contains many citrus trees, avocado, peaches, apricots, figs etc, as well as flowering shrubs and palm trees. There are some large cypress trees giving welcome shade in summer. The house has a sitting room with open fire, a dining hall, a kitchen and downstairs toilet. Upstairs is a large sun deck and 2 en-suite bedrooms with an interconnecting lockable door. There is an outside staircase and a steep inside stairway. Next to the pool stands the Winter house with comfortable seating , built recently to make the most of the winter sun. The garden is leafy and secluded and contains quite a few interesting plants. The house was built in Ottoman times, and was modernised in the 1990s.

What an absolutely fantastic property. We had a lovely restful week in Petite Menage- the house itself is quirky with plenty of space and absolutely spotless. The star of the show was the wonderful gardens with fruit trees aplenty (oranges, lemons and grapefruit when we were there) and cleverly placed outdoor seating to get the best of the sunshine throughout the day . The pool and pool house is also a fabulous addition to the property. Pauline is an absolute delight to deal with, clear instructions before arriving and helpful hints - if you are a coffee lover, bring your own, thanks for that hint! We had such a relaxing holiday and will definitely be back. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a property in the area - short walk to restaurants in the evening but recommend a small car for getting around Northern Cyprus - ask Pauline for Kemal’s number - he’ll give you a good deal for taxi from Larnaca airport and car hire. Thank you Pauline for letting us share your wee bit of paradise.

We have just spent a month at the above property and it was a delightful time.. Petit Menage is a very traditional rustic property. If you like modern, this is not for you. The property is very quirky which we loved and has a very lush garden full of fruit trees and beautiful flowers leading to the pool. The pool area suits everyone's needs as it has plenty of shade as well as providing for people who like to sunbathe. It is a very secluded area. We were blessed with beautiful weather in September so spent most of our time outside. One difficulty was the internal stairs. Again, they suit the property but are not suitable for anyone with a disability. There are external stairs which take you up to the upstairs terrace where one can access the two en suite double bedrooms if need be. Pauline, the owner, was very friendly and approachable as were the local family who look after the property. A hire car is essential. There are several good supermarkets and restaurants in the locality.

We loved the cottage, it had everything we needed when on holiday. The pool & the pool (winter) house were ideal for those lazy days in the sun, which was most days.
We had an issue with the water supply one day but after a call to Kemel a plumber arrived within 30 minutes, great service, if only it was the same at home!. We loved the village of Ozankoy, the bars & restaurants
All in all we had a great time.
A Beautiful Place To Stay

This is an amazing place to stay. The cottage has striking traditional features and is comfortable and very well-equipped. We felt as if we were welcome guests in a much-loved family home. The large garden is beautiful - full of flowers and fruit trees - and the pool is stunning against the backdrop of the mountains. A dip in the pool was a wonderful treat after a walk or a trip, and we also swam before breakfast at the sweet Karakum Plaj, where there is a spirit of camaraderie among the small group of people who like to pop down there at 7.30 in the morning while the sun is still rising in the sky.
The village of Ozankoy is attractive - full of flowers and with friendly people, nice places to eat. We enjoyed the lahmacun fro the little cafe opposite the mosque, as well as the views and Cypriot cooking from Five Fingers restaurant. Ozankoy is also a great base for visiting the area and getting to know it. There is so much to see within reach of the cottage - classical sites, Crusader castles, Byzantine monasteries, the ancient city of Salamis, deserted beaches - but I will leave that to the guide books.
This was our second stay at 'Le Petit Menage' and we have had two wonderful holidays in this beautiful house. We would love to return and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
