****PALAZZO UMBERTO*** This Winery is a historic building (1700 d.C) of great value lies in the medieval village of Poggiardo, among the best in the Salento, near the sea of Santa Cesarea Terme, Castro (3 KM) and the golden beaches of Otranto (KM 10). Behind the palace is a garden enclosed 'secret' and intimate, with a beautiful swimming pool set in white stone of Trani, with Jacuzzi. A pool is a citrus that acts as a natural umbrella and relaxing on comfortable beds. The old structure has a strategic position within each day you can choose a different beach of the most beautiful (140 km of beach). Inside you will find comfort, nature and confidentiality; out of the Baroque Piazza offers folkroristici events, festivals, exhibitions, musical concerts, wednsday markets, caffè and restaurant walking distance, bakery, folk dances of pinches, parties with fairy lights, nightlife, workshops, old chemist, airdress, etc. .. . Enchant architecture of the house of beauty and craftsmanship of the time of the original floors of the time ......The building of 400 square meters spread over two floors and an attic:
0 - ground floor: entrance, garden and orchard, swimming pool (with jacuzzi whirlpool and shower - foot-washing), relaxation area , living 80 m with librery, tv, music, sourraund, 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. Living room turns into a double bedroom en suite bathroom. Total capacity 5 bed (Possible 1 extra bed and 2 cots)
1 - the main floor: 1 living room with wi fi, sky tv, elegant lounge furnished with comfortable sofas and antique furniture room,1 dining room with homemade dishes, antique kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a beautiful local stone terrace with barbecue for fantastic al fresco dining . In the wide spaces of the living area are available on request other 1 comfortable beds for a total capacity of 5 on the first floor. ( possibile 1 extra bed in living room and 1 cot)
2- attic panoramic view on the castle: 1 double bed and 1 adjoining twin room for a total of 4 beds which feature a large bathroom with shower and icorner bath, a kitchen with laundry facilities and a fantastic 'Lamia' (terrace Salento ) overlooking the medieval castle for an unforgettable dinner under the stars.
Spectacular views of the parties folkroristiche with lights that shine on the fireworks and the baroque castle.

By Audrey Doylestown, Pennsylvania on 01-May-2025If I could give 10 stars, I would. Maria was extremely helpful arranging transport, suggesting guides, restaurants and tours. Also very quick to respond. The pictures of the villa do not do it justice. It’s really a beautiful authentic Italian villa setting, with its own lemon and orange trees! We made fresh juice every morning. The rooms were spacious and clean. It was perfect for my girlfriend’s 60th birthday celebration. So much space for everyone. The outdoor area was perfecto for relaxing and enjoying local wines. Maria also organized a chef for our birthday, with a cake! Grazie Maria, we will see you soon!!
FANTASTICA VILLA WITH POOL IN PUGLIA
By Bertil on 30-Sep-2024Fantastiskt fint charmigt hus, gammalt slottsliknande hus med inredda salar och högt i tak. Ett boende och upplevelse som jag verkligen rekommenderar. Kök och toaletter/dusch på varje våning allt mycket fräscht. Vi använde mest köket på mellanvåningen som var mycket välutrustat. Utanför köket en berså med vinrankor och druvor, med stort bord där alla fick plats. Sköna sängar för vuxna och barn (6 vuxna och 3 barn). Rikligt med handdukar även för poolen. Underbar pool med gott om solstolar runtom. Upplyst kvällstid. Innergården hade andra sittgrupper för gemensamt samkväm. Fin välskött trädgård med Lime- och andra frukter som vi provade. Parkeringsplats på innergård med automatiska dörrar. Runtomkring huset finns affärer, restauranger och annat på gångavstånd.
The best place !!!
By Therese on 04-Aug-2024Fantastisk boende mitt i Poggiardo. Innergården och poolen är fantastisk. Gott om utrymme för 12 personer. Sovrum och allmänna utrymmen var mycket fina. Köket var bra utrustat med mycket fina tallrikar, fat, kastruller och glas. Vi åt många härliga luncher och middagar under vinrankorna på uteplatsen. Ett bageri, fisk och kött butik ligger bara lite längre ned på gatan. Finns även en jätte bra mataffär nära som heter Conad. Poggiardo är en lugn liten by mycket nära havet, ca 10 min bilfärd till Castro och andra badställen. Maria var en fantastisk värd som hjälpte till och svarade snabbt på allt. Rekommenderar verkligen detta palazzo /Therese
VILLA DA SOGNO

Ci siamo goduti ogni minuto del nostro soggiorno, dai caffè mattutini nella piazza, rinfrescandoci in piscina e creando i nostri pasti italiani all'aperto. Era il posto perfetto per festeggiare il mio 60° compleanno con familiari e amici. Maria è stata l'host perfetta, organizzando il pranzo per 16 di noi nel magnifico cortile. Il giorno migliore di sempre!

Beautiful
By Craig on 01-Jul-2023There were 9 of us on a group family holiday. Poggiardo is a charming, historic and quaint Italian Puglia town. We found every body very friendly and helpful. The coast is nearby and beautiful. Food at the local supermarket (5 mins car drive) far better than anything we get in England. Local market on Wednesdays worth a visit too. The local Primitivo wine was also delicious. Lots of space for a large group, great swimming pool in private walled courtyard. Weather was fantastic, we dined Al fresco every night. Played some good golf at Acaya (40 mins drive) and tennis in Maglie (20 mins drive). 3 hour boat ride from Castro port, with swim stops in caves in cliffs everybody’s holiday highlight. Nearby towns of Castro, Otranto and Lecce well worth visiting. Maria was extremely helpful, friendly and good spirited. Would deffo recommend for a large family group.
