Villa Gioiosa was amazing loved loved loved it the space, the pool, everything, Carmelina and family were fabulous hosts, just like family. We had a fantastic Pizza night, where we all made our own pizzas, there was massive amounts of food all served beautifully, olives, salami, mortadella, arancinin, red, white & rose vino and much more. Loads of choices on the pizzas, tasty lemon sorbet and espresso coffee for afterwards. Kids loved the play area, toys and pool. Washing machine was a bonus too. Fantastic trips out to the shops, Piazza Cavour, churches and views of the old town, Temples of Agrigento, San leone beach and Naro Cheap taxiing from Carmelina and Salvatore too. Everything was very relaxing and really lovely. Hope to come back soon Love from us all
Where do I start!?! Booked this villa due to the fantastic amenities for families. I''ve been on many villa holidays and this villa, by far is the most equipped for all the family. Arrived at villa and was welcomed by Carmelina and Salvatore who then gave us a tour and explained the alarm etc. Even though the alarm was explained to us, it was no bother to phone Carmelina and ask her to tell us again when we needed to put it on lol! We were probably too excited to take everything in when given the tour Carmelina would let us know when Salvatore, her husband was going to come and clean the pool. We didn''t need to be at villa for this, so no problem at all. Carmelina is a fantastic owner and doesn''t interfere with your holiday, however one call or text (I''m a texter) away and she was available for you. Unfortunately we didn''t do pizza night which is offered by Carmelina and looks delicious because with my 2 girls they are so fussy and didn''t want to eat al fresco or anything that was on offer so we reluctantly declined. My girls are that fussy I even sourced the nearest McDonald''s which is approximately 10mins away by car. And this leads me onto the need for a car. Initially we were going to get taxis however due to some family members pulling out of holiday we decided to rent a car for the 2 weeks which for me was the best thing the town isn''t far away, however having the car to explore is really recommended by myself. I really could write a small essay on the villa and Carmelina but I don''t want to bore you. So long story short is we''re already discussing with family about returning next year!!! I personally asked Carmelina if I could stay and work as a cleaner for her truly loved our stay and was sad to leave. I''ve kept in touch with Carmelina as she feels like a true friend now. She even remembered my youngest daughters birthday and got her a gift now that is going above and beyond!!! Oh I better mention that the villa is fantastic and everything is great washing machine, cookers, ironing board, iron etc everything is fab. Can''t wait to return
This was our first holiday to Sicily, our daughter, her partner and grandchildren have been on several occasions, staying at Villa Gioiosa with their friends and have always spoken about how lovely it was, so when asked we decided to join them on a family holiday this year, along with some of their friends, (who stayed at nearby Villa Radiosa) and we were pleased we did. A hamper of supplies such as biscuits, bread and wine was awaiting us on arrival, which was a lovely touch. Carmelina and Salvatore were great, prompt at sorting any issues we had out, even going as far as ordering pizzas for us and delivering these themselves when the local pizza delivery van was unable to deliver. Carmelina gave us “newbies” a tour of Favara, pointing out all the lovely shops and showing us views across the town where we to took some excellent photos and ending with a visit to the local vineyard/winery where we purchased some excellent local wines. We had a wonderful time, the villa was relaxing and peaceful, although there were eleven of us (5 adults, 6 children) there was enough room for us adults to have “quite time” when we needed. It was 5 minutes drive to the local shops where there was a couple of large supermarkets with all the supplies we needed. We had days trips out to the nearby beach and the Waterpark at scivolandia cammarata, where we all had a fantastic time. Never had so much lovely tasting gelato in my life! We would definitely recommend a stay at Villa Gioiosa, in fact, we have being telling all our friends and colleague, looking for a safe place to have a family holiday all about it. Ann & David
