Description
This sympathetically restored hilltop farmhouse has sweeping views of the valley below. Torricella offers the perfect Italian villa experience, with its beautiful farmhouse kitchen, adjoining loggia for eating or relaxing al fresco, pizza oven and barbecue, a wonderful drawing room with enormous fireplace, and the stunning pool set in herb-scented gardens.Restored by a local builder and craftsmen, using reclaimed materials where possible, the house incorporates energy saving systems to minimize the impact on the environment. While remaining true to its Umbrian farmhouse roots, Torricella provides luxurious holiday living, and is equipped with all modern amenities. Very spacious, with plenty of communal areas, it has four main bedrooms, and additional rooms with sofa beds. For children there are cots, high chairs and a buggy, as well as an abundance of games for all ages. The grounds surrounding the house are wonderful for walking in.
Torricella is situated in the upper Tiber valley area of Umbria in the middle of Italy. For those who like to combine relaxation with sightseeing, there are many picturesque towns within easy driving distance. The major cultural centres of Rome, Florence, Sienna and Pisa are a day-trip away, with beautiful towns such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio and Cortona (to name but a few) being an easy half-day visit.
For the adults, think of Wine Tastings, Cooking Courses, Italian Classes and Chefs at the House. We can also book for you various other activities including Pilates or Yoga Classes, Truffle Hunting, and Babysitting or Child-Care with Activities.

We can tell how much love and care has gone into restoring this beautiful property - what a fantastic job you have done! We had the best week, relaxing by the pool, visiting beautiful towns and cooking, eating, drinking and relaxing! The kitchen facilities were exceptionally and we were made to feel at home. Thank you so much, we have created some wonderful family memories here and hope to be back!

By Rachel on 12-Oct-2024Clearly haven't written in-between 2019 and now...but have spent so many times since 2019 here, loving it so much. There really is no other place like it. We just love it and to come back this autumn, just the two of us, has been again so special for different reasons. It brings back so many memories of our children but it's been lovely to enjoy the house in another season of life and of another season of the year. Big fires, cold swims, and lots of walks have been so restful and peaceful. We shared a few days with friends who now have Torricella in their hearts as well.
