I hear you say what is a Trullo, a Trullo is a round stone building with conical roofs being dry wall construction without mortar dating back to the 14th century. As the story goes this type of construction allowed for the homes to be dismantled in a hurry in order to evade taxes on new settlements under the Kingdom of Naples and certainly a good way to deter unruly lords.
Whilst in Puglia be sure to explore the Itria valley to visit the old town in Locorotondo, Baroque architecture in Martina Franca, white city of Ostuni, to name a few. You are also well placed for a day trip to the beach on either the Adriatic or Ionian coastline
