Description
Recently refurbished to a very high standard and only 20 minutes from Faro Airport, this villa sits in the beautifully landscaped gardens of the Vilar do Golf resort, which is in the very centre of Quinta do Lago. The house is very well equipped and includes fully fitted kitchen with all necessary appliances. The lounge and dining area have satellite television, dvd player, land-line telephone and sofa bed. The two patio doors lead out onto a private terrace and open parkland. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with plenty of wardrobe space. The main bedroom also has satellite TV and phone. There are also two bathrooms, one en-suite. The house has air conditioning and heating throughout. There is also wireless broadband available.
The house is situated approximately 1.5 km from the beautiful Quinta do Lago beach which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus.
The resort borders the championship Quinta do Lago golf courses (36 holes) which surrounds Vilar do Golf. It is less than a five minute walk to the first tee box of both Quinta do Lago North and South courses as well as the Paul McGinley golf academy and driving range. Golf bookings can be made at the 24 hour reception where guests can obtain discounts on green fees.
Three outdoor swimming pools are available on the resort, one of which is exclusively for young children. There is also an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi. The pools are attended by lifeguards.
Vilar do golf has an excellent Children’s club and there are regular movie nights for kids at the pool area (seasonal).
There is a fully equipped fitness centre and beauty salon on site. In addition, bicycles can be hired at the reception area. There is also a family medical centre on the resort.
The Jim Stewart tennis academy is only a five minute walk away. This is the top tennis school in the area and provides junior and adult academy courses for all ages. Courts can also be booked for casual tennis.
Walkers and cyclists can explore the Ria Formosa, an environmentally protected nature reserve which is situated very close to the resort. The nearby lake in Quinta do Lago provides facilities for sailing, windsurfing, paddle boating and kayaking.
Within a few minutes walking distance of the house are the Bobby Jones Bar and Grill, a coffee bar, an on-site supermarket as well as the Quinta do Lago Golf Club restaurant and Koko Lane cafe and bistro.
Other excellent restaurants are located close by within Quinta do Lago and just outside the resort. A longer walk or short car journey will take you to the Quinta do Lago shopping mall with some 40 shops, several restaurants and a dental clinic. There are a wide variety of very good restaurants in the general area, catering for all budgets.
The villa is particularly popular with families, couples, walkers and golfers.

Leave ReviewGreat Villa set in beautiful surrounds
By David on 02-Apr-2014We stayed here for a week in April of this year. The Villa was easy to find and easy to get to from the airport with travel time around 30 minutes. The Villa itself is very well laid out and it looked like everything had just been refurbished to a very high standard just recently. The kitchen had everything you would have at home so cooking proper dinners was easy. Upstairs there was a massive on-suite with a bath & shower and a spacious second bathroom with a large shower. There is Satellite TV and broadband is available but costs extra but worth it. There are two sliding doors at the back with a veranda that is not overlooked and was were spent most of our eating time. On site there is a pool center with outdoor and indoor pools & a hot tub. There is also a kids club & poolside bar but they weren't open yet. We were told they would open the following week though for the season so if you have young kids I'd just double check that. There is a shop a couple of minutes walk which has the essentials (and great local wine).. A car is a must here if you plan on exploring at all. If you don't and are only there for the golf and the beach you would get away without one. There is a bar and restaurant about two minutes walk away which does both bar food and full dinner menu. Overall an excellent experience which I've been recommending to friends. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway.
Best holiday ever !
By Lil on 26-Jul-2014This is our sixth holiday here in Vilar do Golf and last year we came back to find this property had been totally refurbished. The accommodation is just great. It is always spotlessly clean and is fully equipped throughout. It is perfectly situated and the resort amenities are excellent with beautiful pools (indoor and out) and the beach just goes on forever. We can' t wait to go back. Looking at the site again today brings back happy memories!!
Summer bliss
By Maria on 25-Aug-2014We stayed two weeks on a family holiday and the location and facilities available at the property were perfect for what we needed. The house was lovely and clean and very well presented and maintained. Onsite facilities including restaurant, swimming pools, mini-golf, shop and reception area, including bicycle hire, are all within an easy walk of the house. Beautiful beaches and lake water sports are only a short drive away and were popular with our active boys! Overall, we had a very relaxing holiday in beautifully peaceful surroundings. Vilar do Golf
By Howard on 03-Sep-2014We had a great two weeks here. Enjoyed the resort and the house. Prices on the resort were very reasonable. Loads of places to eat locally but recommend a car to make the most of them and explore locally. House kitted with what you need on holiday and then some. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Adventure Seekers.
Vilar do Golf holiday
By Colum B on 20-Sep-2014Stayed for 8 days at Villa 165 at Vilar do Golf in Quinta do Lago. Two storey, two bedroom (including en suite with bath) and separate shower room with w.c. The villa had been recently refurbished and was in excellent condition. It felt like home from home with all the mod cons ..... kitchen with washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and electric cooker. All utensils, cutlery and crockery were provided. The main living area had two comfortable sofas, dining table and seating for six. Colour TV and dvd player above fireplace. Air conditioning downstairs and in both bedrooms upstairs with remote control. All windows and downstairs access via sliding glass windows to patio have mesh protectors to keep out insects. Patio area has garden table and seating for six and two sun loungers. A grassy area extends from the patio area and separation from adjacent villas is by small hedgerow. During this stay in September we enjoyed beautiful weather in the mid 20sC and the peace and tranquility. The superb pool area (3 pools / indoor pool / bar with dining facilities) was a short walk from the villa. The reception was a similar distance including cafe and small, but good supermarket for all the essentials and a medical centre. Large supermarkets in Almancil. Also, a couple of minutes from villa was The Bobby Jones Bar and Restaurant open from 5pm in afternoon till late. The grounds around Vilar do Golf are beautifully planted and very well maintained. The golf courses are beautiful. Car hire is probably essential ...airport about 20 mins away. We found all the staff to be excellent. Exceptionally helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this villa for a holiday. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway.
Golf & relaxation
By Brendan on 06-Nov-2014Have stayed in Vilar do Golf for 10 years now in Sept/Oct each year for a golf holiday with friends. It is the ideal location for this type of holiday in so many ways. The accommodation is superb and was recently updated to a very high standard. The house lacks for nothing and the facilities on-site are excellent with very friendly and welcoming staff. Golf is just a stroll away to the two fine courses in Quinta Do Lago, with a host of other top courses just 10-20 mins away by car/taxi. Getting around is easy. There is great value onsite and also many fine restaurants in the surrounding area. On your day(s) off from golf, you can walk, cycle, practise at the range or chill by the pool with a good book. All you have to do is decide. Would highly recommend this villa & location and I am looking forward to next year already. Brendan; Dublin Nov 2014
