Description
Villa Erdyma is situated 2km from Rethymnon on the north coast of Crete. It has a good sized pool set within attractive gardens and sunbathing terraces. (the pool is about 1.2mtrs to 1.4mtrs deep, which makes it unsuitable for young children, unless they are competent swimmers, or there is close adult supervision........the pool and sun bathing area is,however, fenced off) There is a large roof terrace with views of sea and mountains. Accommodation comprises:- 2 large A/C bedrooms (1 en-suite ) both with large wardrobes (and plenty of hangers !) 2 bathrooms, both with baths (with shower attachments) sinks and wc, a well equipped kitchen, a laundry/utility room, a large A/C lounge/diner with an open fireplace, 2 x 2 seater settees and a dining table and 4 chairs, and covered terraces from both the lounge and the bedrooms. Good beaches are 15 minutes away by car, and a large s/market 10 minutes walk. Linen and towels are changed weekly.The garden has many mature plants including Bourgainvilleas, Hibiscus (shrubs and trees), roses, pomegranite tree, Orange and lemon trees, Olive trees, Bottle brush tree, decorative fig tree, Gerananiums, Jasmine plants, stephanotis plant, and many other trees shrubs and flowers. Clever perimeter planting gives the villa a high degree of privacy. There are 6 good quality sun beds and plenty of plastic tables and chairs, along with a couple of parasols, and a poolside shower.There is also a large BBQ.
We have been renting out our beautiful villa for 23 years. (most of that time through another site which, several years ago, totally changed it's method of operation, which has gained it exceptionally poor reviews, and with which we no longer wished to be associated) Our guests have always been very highly satisfied, and we are very proud of the reviews that we have received.
Car rental: We have found that the best car rental rates can usually be found via 'travel supermarket.com', or 'argus', or we can arrange a rental from a small local company.

During our stay, the local temperatures climbed, but with the air conditioning and the beautiful swimming pool, which were a god send, the villa was very comfortable. The accommodation is well furnished with everything you might need for your stay, plus more. The detached villa gives many sitting areas to enjoy the sunshine or shade no matter what time of the day. We could not find. anything to fault the property, definitely worth a return visit.
Beautiful villa
By Stephanie Mast-Hughes on 30-Jul-2025We loved the week we stayed at the villa Erdyma. The pool and garden are just beautiful, as are the views. We liked walking into the village, a 5-10 min walk, eating at the local taverna in the evenings and shopping at the well stocked supermarket for bread, cheese and fruit in the morning. It is a short drive to Rethymno, a lovely harbour town and we also loved visiting nearby Panormo beach. Robert and Wendy gave us really useful info before our stay, including the best tavernas and beaches to visit. If possible we would return to Atsipopoulo and know that Robert and Wendy will ensure we have a great stay.
Excellent villa with pool away from everyone

Villa equipped with everything we needed… owner organised a car to pick us up from airport which we used for entire stay. Pool perfect for cooling off after high temperatures took us by surprise. Thank goodness for air conditioning!

Lovely villa
By Caroline on 08-Jul-2022We enjoyed a fantastic week in this villa. The gardens are stunning and the pool was warm and a good size. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the roof terrace in an evening and watching the sunsets. The villa was spacious, clean and well-equipped. There are plenty of shops within walking distance and Rethymnon is only a short drive away. Robert was so easy to communicate with and gave us so many helpful tips and recommendations. Katerina, who looks after the villa, was so kind and even left a delicious dinner for us when we arrived on our first night. We would definitely recommend this villa.
Fantastic place to relax
By Antonio C. on 21-Jul-2021We stayed at Bob and Wendy’s Villa Erdyma for almost two weeks and we loved it. The pictures really do not do any justice to the beauty of the place. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfy. The house has all comfort: tv, wifi, satellite, separate laundry room, books, private parking. The 4 terraces are big and their distribution offer moments of relax and shadow at any moment of the day. The pool and the garden are fabulous and much larger than what the pics suggest - we had lots of great moments of fun and relax there. Katerina and Bob are v welcoming, and make the stay so enjoyable. The area is quiet and non touristy: local kids play in the street safely, and you can hear just local animals. The village has all basic shops and some nice restaurants. The place is a great base to explore the mid west and west of Crete, as it is just 3’ from the main “highway”.
