Description
Located in the Itria Valley near LOCOROTONDO, Trullo San Marco is a delightful, recently restored traditional trulli farmhouse with a private pool, sleeping up to 12 people in 4/7 bedrooms. A magical property with the most amazing views over open countryside to the sea, it is on the edge of the little village of San Marco and also near fascinating old towns with good restaurants and only 20 minutes from the sea. Providing a perfect solution for two families or a larger family or group, this is an unusual villa as, although it is a seven coned trullo, its main living room is a large converted coach-house with a high barrel ceiling so it is spacious without having modern additions. All the original features have been preserved, but it is also well equipped with mod cons. This lovely villa is situated just a few minutes' walk from a small village in the countryside where you can buy everything you need including delicious local produce and fresh bread from a wood oven. Next door to the shop, opposite a mediaeval chapel, is an authentic little bar/cafe with snacks and ice creams at ridiculously cheap prices. Trullo San Marco is also near the small town of Locorotondo (officially listed as 'one of the most beautiful in Italy' and Alex 'Secret Italy' Polizzi's favourite place in Puglia) and within short driving distance of many of Puglia's prettiest little hill towns like Cisternino, Ostuni, Martina Franca and the Trullo town of Alberobello.Bedroom Details

Fabulous Trip
By Lynn Pollard on 04-Jul-2023We were three generations, ten people, celebrating our 50th Anniversary and we had a fabulous stay. The house is charming, rustic as expected of a converted farmhouse but with everything we needed. The jasmine was in full bloom when we arrived and will always be in my memory of Puglia. The central location made it easy to visit many of the lovely towns in the area with a short drive, and having the pool to come home to was great for the kids. The views from the roof deck are amazing, and San Marco is just a five minute walk away, with a well-stocked store and a cafe for morning coffee and pastries and afternoon gelato. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Dinner with Palma was a fun evening, and wine and olive oil tasting at Olimpia with Teresa is not to be missed.
Relaxed and enjoyable stay

We were a multigenerational group, and the facilities were inclusive of all our needs - it is obvious the owners have experience of catering for young children , and the poolside kit plus beach towels etc were really appreciated. San Marco and the local residents , family run shop and coffee bar were so friendly, and the local management team (Nico, Martino & Miriam) could not have done more to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable.
