POOL HOUSE
A villa which sleeps 4 people overlooking the superb (12m x 6m ) swimming pool. Sleeps 4 in two twin bedrooms with ensuite facilities. Central fully equipped newly refurbished kitchen with dishwasher, full sized gas oven & hob, microwave, fridge freezer, coffee machine. There is open plan lounge and log fire for use in the winter months. Each bedroom and the kitchen area open directly onto the pool. Lovely shaded table to eat and enjoy a drink. Pool House has a terrace over looking the garden affording total privacy for sunbathing together with extensive terracing around the poolside.. We are very flexible with dates, and arrival & departure times. We would prefer holiday durations of 7 days especially during peak times, but we will consider short breaks of 4 days or more. Electricity will be charged at cost during your stay in the winter months.
All towels and linen are provided except beach towels. A small service charge for cleaning and laundry will be charged locally - 100 euros per booking
There is Wifi access with good speeds. A smart TV in Pool House streams off the Internet. All equipment is available, hairdryer, iron, ironing board. If you book for two weeks your linen and towels will be changed and a cleaner will be offered at the end of the first week.
GARDENS
The extensive sub-tropical gardens of Casa Moinho, with 25000 sq metres are there to be enjoyed by guests. Lovely walks in the surrounding countryside, with a well stocked village shop, 2 bars, within walking distance. The main supermarket is 5 mins drive on the edge of Tavira. .
There are now several golf courses within about 15 minutes drive of the property. Benamor, east of Tavira, is a delightful and well-regarded addition for the golfers of the Algarve - it has spectacular views of the hills and the sea to enjoy whilst you are playing and a club house which incorporates a chapel of great beauty. Quinta Ria, again very beautiful 2 -18 hole courses on the edge of the sea. Castro Marim near Vila Real offers a slightly more challenging game. Various courses within 25 mins drive over the border into Spain...Tennis is also available in the area. Deep sea fishing and sailing all within 15/20 mins . Para- gliding, kite surfing, etc. within easy reach at Cabanas and Tavira Island. The beautiful beaches of the Rio Formosa are just 10 mins away by car. Barril Beach is accessible via the Noddy Train at Pedras d'el Rei where you can find all you require for a day at the beach.
Tavira: This is an ancient town of great charm - it boasts over 30 churches and many historic buildings. With narrow streets and alleyways and bars unchanged for decades, it is a place to wander and experience a life fast disappearing. Casa Moinho is well placed for those wishing to explore the little known and still untouched hills of the Algarve...an area time has truly forgotten. But it is also within striking distance of the more lively areas of the Algarve !!
Spain is approx 40kms to the border and Seville is within 2 hours travel.
Superb long sandy beaches masses of room for everyone.

The Location is close to Tavira and Faro. You can also reach Spain in less than one hour. It's the perfect location for a relaxed vacation. It's not in the city but close by. There is also a market with fresh vegetables and seafoood nearby in Tavira. The Host Jonathan is a great, polite and proactive. We had nice chats with him and he recommended us some good places to visit. He was also very easy to reach via Textmessage or phonecall and always responded very quickly

He makes the effort to speak French and I speak English, we understand each other easily. For beaches, there are few within walking distance. You have to walk a long way from the car parks, take a taxi boat or a train. This is the region that is surrounded by salt marshes. There is no double bed, just single beds. The garden is nice and it's its great asset. We enjoyed our quiet stay without being too far from amenities.
