Our family just returned from an incredible trip to Portugal, where we stayed at Villa Lajes.. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away. The villa itself is stunning, even better than the photos! The rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, with nice air conditioning systems. Our favorite feature was, without a doubt, the private pool. We spent countless hours lounging by the water, and the kids absolutely loved it. The entire outdoor area, including the BBQ and terrace, provided the perfect setting for relaxing evenings and alfresco dining. And even had a separate shower and toilet outside by the pool area. The location was excellent, offering privacy and tranquility while still being a short drive of about half a hour to the nearest town of São Brás De Alportel. And not too far away from the charming town of Lagos, Tavira Loulé and Faro and the beautiful local beaches. Communication with the owner/manager, Paula - the owner was seamless and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Her mum was also very friendly and welcoming. This villa truly felt like a home away from home. It has all you ever need in a perfect home. We've already started talking about our next trip back! This is the second time we have stayed here & it is my favourite place. The villa is lovely with everything you need. A Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room & bed rooms & a beautiful pool area. The surrounding area is pretty with lots of bird life to watch. .If you want to have a peaceful quiet time then it is ideal. It is a 30 minute drive to the nearest town which has several supermarkets & the roads are quite & easy to navigate. The host is very helpful & booking is easy. I totally recommend it.
Tha house and pool had everything we needed and more the we did not use. It is in a fantastically quiet, peaceful and picturesque location. Yes, a car is needed but the roads are very quiet and some of the roadside distant views are incredible. Maria and Paula were super and provided all the very few answers we needed. Could not recommend it enough, brilliant and very special.
Maria made the booking experience easy and answered all queries promptly The owner Paula checked that we had everything we needed and was very helpful in suggesting places to visit, also restaurants to visit which made for an enjoyable holiday.👍
This accommodation exceeded our expectations. Whilst remote it was only half an hour drive to the nearest town Sao Bras De Alportel. where there are 3 large supermarkets. The villa was beautifully furnished with comfortable beds & a fully equipped kitchen. Spotlessly clean. Outside the swimming pool was lovely with an outdoor shower & toilet & sunbeds. & a nice garden to sit in I would definitely stay again & am thinking of coming back next year it was so good. It was so peaceful with loads of nature & birds to watch. Sun rise from the back bedroom was amazing . We stayed for 12 nights & were sorry when our stay came to an end.. Maria & daughter Paula were very helpful.
If you love being away from it all and enjoying the peace and serenity of the hills with no tourists or noise, this is the place for you. The villa is located about 25 minutes drive from the nearest shop. So make sure you stock up on supplies. The location is lovely: windy, warm, fresh and clean. The view is idyllic and the pool is cool and beautiful. The property is spacious and elegant with everything a family needs. The host is very helpful with great tips on where to visit and eat out. This is an ideal place for families especially those who would like to try out their Portuguese with the local people who are all extremely friendly and kind. One thing to note, this villa is located directly beside another villa (so you drive for 25 minutes away from the town and end up in the hills on a tiny, little dirt road with 2 villas side by side, kind of in the middle of nowhere). I was told by the the agent (not the property owner herself) that this villa was not overlooked by any other property. But in fact the next door villa can see into a section of the pool area and you can hear everything each other get up to outside. We were looking for total privacy, so this was a slight disappointment for us, but I imagine most people would be okay with it at it is largely private. There is only one section of the pool area that is overlooked so you can swim in the pool itself without being watched, it's just when you get it of the pool a nosey neighbour could watch you if they wanted to, so no skinny dipping! The villa is stocked with towels, inflatables for the pool, books, tv, and so on. It's a lovely place to spend time with your family and I hope to come back again soon.
