The villa is one of only a small number of villas situated up a private road. It offers a very relaxing location within walking distance of the beach below.

Villa Franca is a charming and peaceful single storey villa situated down it's own long drive on a hill above Torre Delle Stelle on the beautiful Southern Sardinian Coast. villa has spectacular panoramic views of the sea and the Gulf of Cagliari. The terraced garden has its own fruit trees and offers complete privacy. It also boasts a magnificent pool 13m x 6m designed with an infinity edge offering swimmers unobstructed views of the coastline. There is plenty of space to relax in the sun and contemplate the amazing views and you have a choice of areas to eat either in the shade of the olive trees or on the sheltered veranda at the front of the villa, both of which face the sea. There is also a built-in pizza oven, barbecue and outdoor shower.

The 3 bedrooms are all ensuite with their own separate entrances offering guests both independence and privacy. The villa is fully air conditioned with all mod-cons including washing machine and dishwasher. The front of the villa has a covered veranda where dining alfresco is a pleasure whatever the weather!

There is a lovely white sandy beach 10-15 minutes walk down our private road and path. Or if you prefer there is a shady car park behind the beach (preferable for young children).

As you drive down into Torre there are tennis courts. You will also find the Palmira supermarket which has a butcher, fishmonger and small bar attached to it. The easiest way to find them is to follow the signs to the supermarket. In the evening there is a restaurant attached to the bar where you can eat inside or in the open air courtyard. There are also a couple of unobtrusive beach bars at one end of the beach.

Surrounding area: Cagliari theou continue on the road past the beach you will come to the beautiful old part of the city.

If you turn left at the bottom of our hill you will be heading towards Villasimius approx 20 – 25 mins away. On this route you will see more really breathtaking views and lots more stunning beaches to choose from.

4 mins drive away in Solanas is the well known Ristorante da Barbara. In Villasimius there are more excellent restaurants, bars and shops situated off the main street.
you want to travel further beyond Villasimius is the Costa Rei where the beach runs for miles.

The nearest airport is Elmas (Cagliari) airport. All main airlines fly to Sardinia - EasyJet, Ryanair, BA. The airport is approximately 40-45 minutes away. All the usual car hire companies are situated at the airport.
Villasimius marina: Boat hire is available in Villasimius, approx 20 minutes drive away going eastwards along coastal road:

Fantastisch

By Angelika S on 29-Jul-2019

We really enjoyed the stay in the villa, as it was pleasantly quiet due to the location. In addition, of course, the view from de Villa is really gorgeous. The communication with Kim and Francesco on site was great and worked smoothly. Both were very helpful and courteous! We can recommend the villa unreservedly :-)

A fantastic villa with stunning views

By Anthony A on 17-Jul-2019

We really enjoyed our relaxing stay at lovely Villa Franca. We particularly loved the pool and outside space with various different areas to use, all with beautiful views. The entire villa was clean inside and out and is very well equipped. It is also well situated with a small supermarket, a couple of restaurants (Il Sagittario do good pizza, including takeaway in the evening and the staff are very friendly) and beaches a short drive away. Villasimius is about 20 minutes by car and the marina, beaches and town well worth a visit, there are also larger supermarkets there. Communication with Kim was excellent from booking onwards and we had a warm welcome from Francesco who gave recommendations and was on hand throughout our stay should we have any questions or problems. We would love to return one day and certainly recommend this villa, thank you Kim, David and Francesco

Amazing!

By Andrea O on 08-Jul-2019

We have recently returned from the villa and have to say it is beautiful. Kim was really helpful right from the point of booking to just before we left. The villa is really well equipped and has so much space - both inside and out. The pool area and garden are a delight. A car is definitely needed in my opinion, and you will want to get out and explore the many amazing beaches nearby!

The perfect Villa Holiday

The Perfect Villa Holiday
Date of Stay
23 Jun 2018
Description & Photos of the villa Provided are completely accurate Property & surrounds spotlessly clean The Infinity Swimming Pool was amazing - the pictures do not do it justice All ensuite rooms means you get the best of both worlds - Hotel & Villa Holiday.
Kim, the owner & Francesco "local property manager"provided the best possible service from Booking to the time of departing for home.
Excellent Beaches & scenery & the bars & restaurants in the village were casual & great value Try 2 restaurants in the near by Village of Solanas - Il Veliero (casual with excellent Staff) & Da Barbara slightly more formal but still very reasonably priced - Supplies House wine from its own Winery which is excellent Would 100% recommend booking this Villa & would love to return soon.

Fabulous Villa

By Nicole H on 24-Jul-2017

We had an amazing 2 week stay at Villa Franca. The villa is cool, spacious and well appointed & we loved the traditional style. The main attraction is the beautiful private garden with the stunning views. The pool is large & kept spotlessly clean - we loved watching the swifts dip in the pool in the afternoons. Everything contributing to the complete relaxation that this villa offers.

There are a couple of good supermarkets & a fishmonger in the village. We enjoyed the restaurant next to the supermarket - all very low key, which added to the charm - they do great pizzas & will do takeaway.

We also enjoyed visiting Villasimus, the nearest town, especially the artisan ice cream parlour Amore Mio!

The coastline is stunning and there are so many beautiful sandy beaches within a short driving distance of the villa.

This was a perfect holiday, Thanks to Kim & Francesco for everything.

Would love to return soon.

A superb holiday villa

By Simon B on 21-Jun-2017

Our party of 5 adults enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing weeks holiday at Villa Franca. We have previously booked villa holidays with companies such as Simpson's and while you have to book your own flights and car, Villa Franca is just as good. Positioned up a hillside track, the villa enjoys superb views of the near by bay and across to Cagliari. The infinity pool is large and beautifully clean, perfect for whiling away the time bobbing on a li-low in the sun. The villa is private and not overlooked. It's quite rustic in design, but with all mod-cons including air conditioning (which we didn't use as the shutters kept the bedrooms cool), dishwasher etc. The bedrooms are all large and comfortable with their own high quality bathrooms. Francesco is the local contact who is very helpful and who speaks very good English. There are many excellent restaurants pretty close by and also I believe nice sandy beaches, although we couldn't bring ourselves to leave the pool and its views. For added fun, try making your own pizza's in the villa's pizza oven. Everyone had a role from dough making to fire chief and the results were excellent. Do yourself a favour and book into Villa Franca. You really won't regret it!

Fabulous Location

By Lily S on 21-Nov-2016

Our family of six had an idyllic, relaxing stay at this beautiful villa. The fabulous large infinity pool kept calling to us, but we did venture out to a couple of lovely beaches just down the coast. Francesco was very attentive and helpful throughout our 2 week stay. I would love to return to this place in paradise at some time in the future and thoroughly recommend it for a relaxing vacation.

Stunning pool with a view you can't tire of

By Tina K on 11-Aug-2015

We have recently returned from 10 days in Sardinia, a week of which was spent at Villa Franca. Having booked private villas most years for holidays we always carefully read the descriptions and hope that everything meets our expectations. Villa Franca did exactly that. From the flexibility of our arrival, where we were met by Francesco, we knew this was the right choice. Its always great to know there is someone local to call on if you really need them. (In fact the only thing we needed was a cork screw - which had gone missing!) Each bedroom has it's own bathroom which is unexpected but useful. Despite the very hot weather we only turned on the aircon once as the villa stays beautifully cool. The huge kitchens (yes plural) are very well equipped, with useful plastic glasses etc for outdoors. Everything was spotless. The photos on here do not do the outside area justice. It is huge and the pool is much larger than most - and then there's the view to the sea and the little white boats. There is a completely covered area to the side of the house, lit up with little fairy lights at night, which is sheltered and cool in the day and cosy at night. To be honest we were rarely inside. Its an easy distance to get to from the airport, although we chose to spend a few days in Cagliari first. Villa Franca was a cool and peaceful retreat afterwards. In the vicinty of the villa there are so many stunning beaches. We chose Solanas (turn left out of the little lane) as it had umbrellas and sunbeds to hire, and the locals were really friendly. Also make a trip to Villasimius and further up the east coast where the coast road is stunning and the beaches just amazing. We recommend Da Barbara (so does everyone else) but also La Vela in the marina at Villasimius - Tuna and smoked swordfish carpaccio. And if you are in Cagliari try Antica in Rue Sardegna - great food. The supermarket that is recommended in Torre was fab, when they realised we were English we were given more wine to try, local salsicche etc. In fact there were few Brits there which was also really quite nice. On top of this Kim was so helpful beforehand that I was confident all would be well. And with Francesco there to help locally, it was far better organised than some of the high end luxury villa package companies out there. All very reassuring. Would I recommend the Villa - yes but not too loudly in case it's not available for us again when we want it

We will be back!

By Melanie J on 27-Apr-2015

Spectacular views! It is not surprising an earlier guest had decided to paint the view and to include a copy in the guest book at the villa. An absolutely unbeatable location, a really wonderful week - just one is really not enough. We were so enchanted with the pool and vista that we have to admit we did not explore the island as much as we intended. We were so happy to stay put as the setting of Villa Franca is so peaceful and relaxing. We all unwound by the pool looking out at views across the Bay toward Pula and beyond. We had lunch in the shade of the olive trees and in the evening we would watch the sun melt into the most breath-taking sunsets. The children loved the pool and we also spent time on the beautiful beach below with it's crystal clear water that was very safe for them to play in. We appreciated the tasteful interiors of Villa Franca, a holiday hideaway where care has been taken to provide everything to make for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Francesco, the agent, was really friendly and helpful. He made sure we felt at home from the start. We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and we will definitely be back.

Spectacular setting for a relaxing holiday

By Muss Family on 27-Jun-2010

Villa Franca,
Date of Stay
12 Jun 2010

We stayed at Villa Franca in mid-June 2010. The setting for the villa is tremendous as it is set on a hillside with spectacular views across Torre Delle Stelle to the sea. Dealing with Kim the owner is a pleasure as she tries to ensure that everything is done in a professional yet friendly manner. The rooms are airy and they have been furnished in a simple yet delightful way. The weather was a little mixed at times and as the World Cup was on we were grateful for the fantastic satellite tv system which had hundreds of channels available. The approach to the villa is made via a steep and twisting track which may not be to the liking of nervous drivers but the views are well worth the extra care when driving and caused us no problems whatsoever. A car is an absolute must as apart from the nearby villas you will need to drive to the beaches, bars and restaurants of the area. We particularly enjoyed the fantastic beaches to be found around the nearby Villasimius area. As it was early in the summer the pool was quite cool but was greatly appreciated when the weather was hot and sunny. We had a small problem with one of the toilets which was fixed promptly by Francesco. We would have no hesitation in suggesting that you stay at this villa
