This luxurary villGreek island villa is named after the falcons that swoop over it, situated in gorgeous countryside near the picturesque hill village of Glossa. Its secluded location feels private, despite its proximity to the beaches, the port, the Mamma Mia church and the village itself, and the villa is not overlooked by anything.

The mesmerizing panoramic view takes in the islands of Evia, Skiathos and the Pelion and away to the mainland, as far as Mt Parnassus and closer to home down to the village of Glossa and its port of Loutraki.

The villa itself is built by hand in the traditional style of the island, with vaulted open-beamed ceilings of local chestnut and pine, wooden balconies and tiled roofs, complemented by a modern clean touch and up-to-date fittings and equipment. The interior comprises of eclectic furniture and antiques collected from Greece, France and Ireland, as I worked with both wood and metal for many years now I made other furniture and details in the villa my self.

The main bedroom has a super king size double bed and an en-suite bathroom. The view through double doors looks out over the garden and beyond over the Aegean Sea. The terrace outside leads to the garden and there are seats and a table there offering another place to relax. This light and airy room is decorated with paintings and it has a painted wooden ceiling. There is a full length mirror and plenty of storage space for clothes and suitcases.

Bathing towels are also provided.

For the hot season there is air conditioning.

The second bedroom has a double door styled on the traditional island design. It has two single beds that can be adjoined to make a super king size bed. It is colourful, light and airy with a painted wooden ceiling.

This bedroom also shares a similar view to the main bedroom and also has double doors leading out to a terrace with a great view to wake up to. The wardrobe is has ample space and there is also a full length mirror and air conditioning.

There is a fold up chair and extra mattress available for a fifth person, this arrangement is suitable for a teen or younger and can fit into the twin bedroom.

Both bathrooms have good showers with marble finishes, toilets and basins set in teak. Complete with White company towels, soap and heated towel rails.

Well appointed, airy kitchen and living area with views to the swimming pool and the sea. It has access to the extensive covered veranda and yard. The equipment includes electric cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, hard wood work surfaces, double sink & good quality utensils.

The living is on the 1st floor, and opens up to the extensive balcony. Open plan, with an attractive open wooden ceiling, it is well appointed with a fireplace, wifi, DVD/stereo system. Comfortable furnishings and rugs. It opens onto the veranda at the front of the house and the yard at the rear.

The utility room is located downstairs and home to the heating system, washing machines, freezer, cool boxes, ironing board, drying rack and first aid cabinet.

There are lots of outside spaces to choose from whether it is for sunbathing or for shade. Outside the house has been specifically designed to offer guests the maximum benefit of outdoor living. on one side of the living area there are the double doors on to the large and wide hard wood balcony, on the other side of the living area is the the main entrance into the villa from the lavender and citrus tree lined yard. this are is covered with a chestnut pergola that has jasmine covering a portion of it at one end and straw matting over the dining area. there are large double doors at one end that open up to the area where the vehicles can be parked. this enclosed yard are makes for yet another cosy and intimate area, it is also complete with the outside kitchen and BBQ/rotisserie big enough for a goat!

The private swimming pool which measures 8x4m looks out over the bay. It is located at the side of the villa on a split level. It has steps leading into it and a shallow and deep end. This area is fully Illuminated with switches at either end of the area. There are five wooden sun beds, low tables, umbrellas and a large cushioned bench. There is an outside shower and an orange tree at the far end of this area and next to it stone steps that lead up to the terrace above. The pool area is enclosed tastefully by railings, with a latched gate to restrict access by underage children. Above the pool lounging area is the bbq terrace with more ample space for lounging.

The property extends to 7355 square meters and is set out in terraces, gardens and trees, so providing guests with privacy and space.

The hard wood veranda runs along two sides of the villa and faces south west. The front veranda measures 3m wide x 9m long it provides a perfect space to entertain and dine alfresco whilst taking in the stunning view over Loutraki harbour and the bay beyond. The barbecue area has a fridge, sink and a large user friendly barbecue that also has an electric rotisserie. So whether its a few sardines or a whole goat and three chickens on the menu this set up will deliver.

The yard at the rear of the villa is next to the barbecue. This is the main entrance to the villa from the car park area. Large double doors open onto this area with its shaded pergola and dining area that allow for a cool and relaxed dining alternative when the sun is at its zenith. Sitting here with the citrus trees, jasmine lots of Jasmine is a wonderful experience.

The large wooden veranda is reached through the double doors from the living area. It also leads around the side of the house to the barbecue area and the dining area in the yard at the rear of the villa. Here there are plenty of places to sit and relax.

All linen, house towels and bathing/beach towels are included.
The property is cleaned once a week, more if required for a small additional charge.
The pool is maintained every two to three days to ensure that it is in good condition.

The large garden set on a ancient stone terraced vineyard with a wide variety of herbs, shrubs and trees, has paths enabling one to walk there and to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Due to the situation of the property on the apex of a hill, and the steep slopes around the house, it is not suitable for wheelchair users, or indeed people with mobility difficulties. There are stairs inside and outside as it is a two storey villa. This is worth taking in to consideration if you are not accustomed to stairs.

Car hire is necessary in order to get around and to explore. I can recommend a local car hire family run company which will deliver the car to the port of your arrival and collect from your departure port.

On arriving you will also be met and brought to the villa where you will be welcomed and shown around.

The closest airport Skiathos (JSI) is on the next island closer to the mainland. A transfer taxi from the airport to the port takes five minutes. there are a number of ferry operators here and tickets can be pre booked online. There is also a sea taxi called SeaCab which is useful to avoid waiting if necessary, this can be pre booked easily on their website. The crossing time is 15 minutes in the taxi or hydrofoil or 30 minutes on the conventional ferry.

The other options are to fly to Thessaloniki and then take a ferry to Skopelos town, this is available during the summer season months only. Or to fly to Athens and take a connecting flight to Skiathos. Sometimes the airport in Volos is also operating.

I can help and advice on travel arrangements. I look forward to hearing from you!

We loved our stay here. I would say the road leading up to the villa, you most definitely , need a four by four. Once there however, the peace, serenity and views are so worthwhile. You are overlooked by no one and have total privacy. Thank you Shane you were always so helpful and every question we had was answered promptly. We so enjoyed our stay.

Highly recommended!

Villa Eleonorae is a rather special place. Located 300m up the side of a hill looking over surrounding Islands and down to the little port near Glossa. The pictures really don’t do it justice. No neighbours so you have complete and total privacy. My wife and I are a well travelled couple, but we have never had such a relaxing summer holiday. We enjoyed endless cloudless days relaxing by the immaculately maintained pool. We visited 14 beaches and restaurants all over the Island but the nearby tiny towns of Glossa and Loutraki have a great selection of places to eat, although Skopelos Town has a much larger range of restaurants and shops and well worth a visit. Beaches are all really nice with beautiful clear water (with was 28 degrees when we were there – like a swimming pool!). Some had music playing, others had little or no facilities. We had one beach all to ourselves for a couple of hours. On our wedding anniversary, we got up early to see dawn rise behind the little Agios Ioannis church (featured in the Mamma-Mia film). Staggered up and down the stairs then had a swim on the little deserted beach. Dreamy. The little local supermarket is fantastic – they had all we needed and the happiest shop-keeper lady ever!! We loved the comfy bed, duvet and sheets too, with good air conditioning making night time very comfortable. The owner Shane couldn’t have been more helpful – giving us recommendations for car hire (Magic Cars who were excellent to deal with ) to restaurant ideas (all good ones!). All in all, a really top top holiday, and such a dreamy location. Highly recommended!

Perfect in every way

We had an amazing stay at Shane’s place. It was the second villa we stayed at during our visit to Skopelos and by far the best. The house is very well appointed and comfortable. The bedrooms are lovely and cool. The pool is a good size and is kept very clean but it is the view from the terrace that we will remember. It really takes your breath away and you can stare at it for hours. If this villa is on your shortlist I would say go for it. Shane, Anthoula and Elen were always on hand if needed. 10 out of 10, thank you.
