EATING OUT

Skopelos Town and Port is a mere 10-minute drive away from the villa. Within the beautiful town you will find a selection of wonderful restaurants, bars and fish taverns serving fresh locally caught fish. Along with the traditional Greek dishes like as souvlaki, kleftiko and moussaka, try the local delicacy of pork with home grown plums. You definitely won’t regret it. Also, whilst on the island we strongly recommend Agnanti restaurant which is located in Glossa. Just remember to book well in advance! All restaurants offer a large selection of both vegetarian and vegan options.

BEACHES

The nearest beach to the villa is Glyfoneri which is approx. 10-minute drive. For a beach with more of a lively atmosphere, try Glysteria beach and bar located approx. 20min drive from the villa. Another beautiful, secluded beach is located in Stafylos which is approximately a 10-minute drive from Skopelos Town.

The well-known and famous beaches and bars of Milia and Kastani, from the film Mamma Mia, are also within easy reach of the villa.

Also, don’t forget the long, beautiful beach of Panormos which boasts plenty of free to use sunbeds and a large variety of beach fronted restaurants.

GETTING TO AND FROM THE VILLA

The island of Skopelos does not have its own airport. The nearest airport is located on Skiathos. Getting to Skopelos from Skiathos is very easy. The port of Skiathos is a 10minute taxi drive from the airport. From there, you can board one of several regular ferry boats to Skopelos Town. All are reasonable priced. However, for those who require a ferry service out of regular ferry service hours, there are a few water taxis that can get you to Skopelos. Please note these taxis usually only take you to the northern port of Glossa. There is a regular bus service to Skopelos Town from Glossa Port. We recommended that you check the timetables before your departure.

CAR HIRE

Due to the location of Villa Aeolos, we strongly advise the hiring of a vehicle during your stay. There are several hire car companies located within Skopelos Town for you to choose from. If requested, we will be pleased to assist you on help and advice where best to hire a vehicle from.

Please note that we recommend that once the villa has been booked, you check the availability of whatever vehicle you need to hire. There is a limited number of hire companies on the island and rental cars can be booked well in advance of requirement.

THINGS TO DO WHILST HERE (OTHER THAN SUNBATHING AND EATING)

For those guests who prefer a little bit of activity whilst here, you can try kayaking or scuba diving. Again, all the information on these and other activities can be found within the information pack provided.

Additionally, there are many tracks and trails to follow on Skopelos. There is a well-documented book kept at the villa which has been written and well illustrated by local author and trekker, Heather Parsons. The book called ‘Skopelos Trails’ - A Nature & Walking Guide to Skopelos describes the many walks and trails around Skopelos It’s also an excellent book for reference to all flora and fauna of the wonderful island.

Also recommended is a visit to the famous picturesque church Agios Ioannis featured in Mamma Mia.

Heavenly Haven

By Helen Matheson on 25-Aug-2025

When we found this villa we thought it looked too good to be true but it wasn't. When we arrived we were completely blown away! Aeolos is stunning. Its peaceful location is perfect for relaxing days by the pool yet only 10 minutes drive into Skopelos town and multiple beautiful beaches, many of which we explored by boat. There's a view for every mood, endless olives groves from one side and Skopelos port from the dining and pool area. The pool is the biggest and cleanest we've ever had in a villa and the sunbeds are super comfy. We made good use of the bar area, very atmospheric in the evenings with its twinkly lights and soft sofa. The interior is stylish, comfortable and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. Everything was spotless. Janice was a fantastic host and was always at the end of the phone to answer any queries, give advice and make sure we were comfortable and happy. There isn't anything we'd change. Thank you Janice and John for sharing your beautiful home. We're very jealous.

Idyllic getaway.

By Steve on 14-Jul-2025

I can only confirm all the previous reviews. Grab yourself a slice of paradise. Great villa - Immaculate, clean, great pool, everything you might need and more. Great location - peaceful, but 15 mins from town by car (scenic route) Great hosts - Excellent comms. We travelled around the island (a car is a must) And I can honestly say my favourite view was from the breakfast table on the terrace.

Unbeatable Luxury Villa overlooking the lovely Port of Skopelos

By Diane and Peter on 31-May-2025

This was the third time we have stayed at Janice and John's wonderful, spacious villa. It enjoys an outstanding position on the brow of the hills overlooking Skopelos Port, and we love the peacefulness and complete privacy that it provides. Yet it's only a 10 minutes drive into town (taxis 15 euro), and very easy and quick to drive to the best beaches on the west coast of the island. Multiple verandah's and external lounge areas offer shady spots to enjoy a good book, while the exceptionally large pool area, protected by large umbrellas is bathed in sun throughout the day. The everchanging views down onto the port and further out to the island of Alinossos from the veranda or the pool are quite magnificent. The villa itself is Janice and John's home for much of the year and so as you might expect it is extremely well appointed, with large comfortable lounge, dining and kitchen areas, and all the plates, glasses, cutlery and utensils that you could wish for. We loved dining on the verandah overlooking the port. or sitting by the pool bar in the evening. Most importantly Janice is a wonderful hostess, always very prompt in answering questions or providing suggestions, and again going the extra mile to ensure we had another great stay. In every way Villa Aeolos offers an exceptional experience. We can't recommend it highly enough.

A Greek Idyll

By Steve on 22-Jul-2024

We have never before returned to a location, no matter how wonderful. However, this year we broke the trend and returned for a second year to Villa Aeolos on Skopelos. Janice, the owner could not have been more helpful and was determined to make our stay as easy and happy as possible. The villa has all of the facilities that you would hope for in first class accomodation. There is a really great amount of space, allowing you to find sun, shade and peace at all times. The views of the port/town on one side and the hills on the other are simply magnificent. There is plenty to see and do on this very friendly island. This really is a special place!

Wonderful villa with stunning views over Skopelos

By Marianne and Tom on 09-Aug-2024

We have just returned from a wonderful week, at Villa Aelios in Skopelos. The villa was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We so appreciated the welcome pack of essentials and treats that we received on arrival. The grounds were spacious, private and beautifully maintained. The pool is incredible. Large, with a deep and shallow end, perfect temperature. The views from the villa over Skopelos are stunning, we particularly enjoyed overlooking the town at sunrise and at night. Janice is a super host, very helpful and attentive. We can’t recommend highly enough.
