Description
TuscanyThis beautiful Tuscan resort comprising four exclusive apartments stands in the heart of Tuscany overlooking the village of Caprese Michelangelo and is set in 100 acres of the most beautiful mountain forests. The relaxing salt water pool complete with Roman steps, sits in a peaceful olive grove with a breath-taking view through the mountains to the fairytale-esque Castle of Michelangelo.
The tranquil location, frequently described as 'paradise on earth' encompasses an abundance of wildlife where the birds sing all night and the fireflies provide a moving display of sparkling light at dusk. In years gone by, the villa which was once a byzantine castle and was then owned by the Vatican and used to house monks from the local monastery. Ideal for walking and cycling, the area is home to many fine restaurants, with truffles and mushrooms being a local speciality, along with delicious Tuscan wines. The encircling mountains and forests have inspired the three greatest artists of the Renaissance and remain largely unspoiled today.
Wild boar, deer and porcupines are regularly seen on the grounds.
Beautiful small private resort with saltwater swimming pool overlooking the castle of Michelangelo. Great restaurants all around us very economical prices tons of things to see and do.
Fantastic area with many fabulous restaurants very economical prices so much to see and do mediaeval towns and monasteries around us. Great place for walking and cycling easy access to the cities by train Rome, Florence and Venice.

By Matt & Katie on 25-Nov-2025My goodness what a special place this is. We loved everything about it. The owner Freyja could not have been more kind and helpful. We did so much as it’s got a great variety of things to do and visit all around from the thermal spa to the olive oil tour and lunch. We visited the monastery of La Verna which was spectacular. We loved the food at the Buca Di Michelangelo restaurant and Il Cerro. Our apartment was beautiful and had everything we needed. We are going to book to return in the summer.
