Description

Set in a quiet river valley close to the border between Tuscany and Umbria, Santa Chiara offers a choice of three chic and well appointed self catering apartments. The areas main highlights including Assisi, Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno and Perugia are all within a 30 minute drive of the property.

Apartment 'Rancale'

This striking apartment oozes character with hand made terracotta floors throughout, exposed stone walls and barrel vaulted ceilings. There's a light and airy open plan living area with cosy lounge and fully fitted kitchen being joined by an impressive stone archway. As well as a family bathroom with bathtub and separate shower cubicle, the master bedroom in Rancale also has its own en-suite shower room with loo and wash-hand basin.
Down the stairs, beyond the stair gate, there's a large private terrace shaded by a pergola with dining table and comfy sun loungers. Leading from the terrace there is a garden with children’s play area.

The ten by five metre swimming pool is situated on a sunny terrace close to the house. The fully fenced and gated area offers quiet and seclusion to relax and unwind. The swimming pool allows easy access to the shallow end via Roman steps. The pool ranges in depth from 1.2m to 2.4m and provides a shallow ledge all the way around its perimeter to help even the least confident of swimmers. The pool is open between May and September. During the early and late season, the swimming pool is covered at night with a summer thermal cover to help keep the overnight temperature loss to a minimum.

At the end of the pool area, there is shaded seating with pergola and wicker seating set, next to this is the children's wendy house and paddling pool as well as table football covered by another pergola.
Home Cooked Meals

​We offer an in house menu with a wide range of freshly prepared home cooked dishes ranging from Italian family favourites, such as Lasagne and Cannelloni, right through to more sophisticated dishes, all ready to pop in your oven and enjoy. For the children we offer a full variety of meals that are freshly made, pre-cooked and can be heated quickly in the microwave.

Great family friendly place

Santa Chiara is a beautiful place with astonishing views and atmosphere. We were travelling with small kid and still were able to find a lot of relax in Santa Chiara space. There are many things to do with a small baby (20 months old) - three different playgrounds and a lot of toys in the apartament. Paul is very friendly and helpfull. We spent in Santa Chiara great time. Many thanks!

Wonderful farmhouse in Umbria

The accommodation is part of an old renovated farmhouse, in a perfect location for those looking for a place to relax at the end of a day of sightseeing (30 minutes from the main tourist areas such as Perugia, Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno, etc.). The pool is ideal for cooling off on hot summer days, and many games for children are also available for guests. The owners live in the farmhouse and are extremely available in case of need, although they are so discreet that you will forget their presence! Ultimately... we recommend it 100%!!! Thanks Paul, we hope to see you again soon!!!

Cool off in the pool

This property is as described, serene, calm and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay. Paul is a great host with many great suggestions. We went in mid June & it was hot, but the pool was perfect for cooling off. Highly recommend if you’re exploring the area. Thank you Paul.
