Our villa Casa Cathcal is a legally registered rental property with the Portuguese Ministry of Tourism licence number 15038/AL which gives clients the security they can check they are renting off the owner not a website scam This spacious single storey villa has air conditioning in all bedrooms, lounge & kitchen which is included in the rental costs. The villa accommodation comprises 2 double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms,1 twin bedded room with an en-suite shower room with disabled access and facilities the 4th bedroom is twin bedded with a separate full bathroom. The well furnished lounge/dinning room has a Multi Channel streamed WIFI TV system ,Wi-Fi ADSL availability. The spacious fully fitted kitchen completely renovated for 2024 with large breakfast table is equipped with all modern appliances. The large pool with a child section can be heated at an agreed cost before arrival is set inside a gated CHILD SAFETY FENCING system. There is an extensive patio area surrounded by walled gardens for privacy, also in this area is a poolside WC/laundry with wash/mc for clients use. Outside the kitchen is a superb BBQ area . There is both security & fire alarm systems in the villa, a floor safe and all windows have triple glazing incorporating Venetian Blinds and external mosquito nets

THE CASA CATHCAL HAS RECENTLY HAD MAJOR RE-FURBISHMENTS CARRIED OUT .It now has the additions of CHILD SAFETY POOL FENCING both fixed and removable giving the facility for parties with non swimmers/children to isolate access to the pool. The entire villa is surrounded by walled and hedged gardens making it a totally enclosed and secure private property and is accessed from the exterior through electrically operated gates with coded key pads along with a telephone intercom system. The good size patio/garden area is to the south side so it gets the sun all day and this is where the superb full size swimming pool is situated. The pool itself with pool lighting has a internal walled off section which is very shallow and ideal for supervised children and non swimmers. There are ample top quality sun loungers, sun umbrellas, additional tables/chairs plus other equipment on the surrounding patio area including a poolside external shower along with an outside laundry/WC, complete with washing machine and sink solely for clients use. To the side of the pool area is a large covered barbecue, it is adjacent to the kitchen making it a fabulous spot for Al-fresco meals around the adjacent large fixed tiled table which can now be covered by an electrically operated awning giving a superb shaded eating area. In fact during the summer months it is ideal for every meal time having hosted not only BBQs but dinner parties as well. A short walk takes you to bars ,restaurants, supermarkets,
we even have an Aldi close by
The refurbishments are to both the interior and exterior of the Villa both having state of the arts insulation systems fitted along with all modern lighting throughout: The all new Air Conditioning is now a high tech eco system which will both heat (for winter) or cool in a matter of minutes and is fitted in all bedrooms ,kitchen and lounge. The lounge/dinning room has ample sofas, armchairs. stools, full size dinning table and chairs for 8 adults along with a DVD/CD player and radio and Flat Screen tv. . We have installed an internet streaming system this gets numerous channels including all bbc , itv , sports, films etc and along with the upgraded WIFI has proved very reliable but if there if the internet crashes or gets overloaded we lose this supply so we do not guarantee this facility will be continuous. The large kitchen is equipped with all top quality modern appliances including a superb fixed granite breakfast table for 8 people, built in high level double oven and grill, separate hob, microwave. large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and several more appliances. As this is our family villa you will find more than sufficient amounts of crockery, glasses, utensils, BBQ equipment for use. All linen, bedding, bath/hand towels are provided .We now provide one pool towel per client ie 8 in total which saves on suitcase luggage when travelling, clients must launder the pool towels themselves.
Where to go: The beaches are only about 2km away at the end of our road ,you could walk but it is a couple of minutes in the car. We do recommend car hire but as the local amenities are now so good it is not essential but highly advisable, the supermarkets around Vale de Parra offer a wide range of foods ,household goods, baby foods and products and also have cash machine facilities. There is a pharmacy in the village and a bank and walking to local restaurants and bars is easy with a short drive giving a massive choice .On the beaches there are many water sport activities such as jet-ski, para-sailing, water- skiing, banana-boat, etc. The beach bars and restaurants which are dotted along the miles of beaches and coves are a real treat with reasonably priced drinks and food in the most delightful settings. There are excellent Aquatic Parks and the famous dolphins at Zoo Marine just a short drive away as is the Algarve Shopping Centre at Guia with its hypermarket and international outlets and shops.
The Cathcal is managed by our Housekeeper/Maid Lucinda who cleans the villa 5 days ( usually 6 ) a week Sunday is always her day off, she has been with us for many years and is a very special friend to ourselves and many regular clients going back a long time. She is assisted by husband Manuel who sees to the pool and gardens. They both try to be in the background as much as possible but certain things must be continuously cleaned and maintained, the pool being a major one, this we take great pride in especially the quality of the water which is checked daily usually very early in the mornings .Lucinda whose English is limited is always the first to go to for any help or advice ie how does this work ? but you have the back up of the office where the keys were collected from and Manuel (Lucindas brother) or Alistair will sort everything else you might need assistance on.
