Fully restored, this 19th century former sea captains residence enjoys stunning south-westerly facing sea views and beyond to the island of Korcula.
The villa is located in the historic seaside village of Viganj (pronounced vee-gan), north of Dubrovnik on the Dalmatian mainland. Being on the mainland, there is no need to catch a ferry to island destinations, saving hours of travel time, especially in peak season. Viganj is opposite the famed island of Korcula, where you can enjoy experiencing the old 12th century walled city - accessible via the little foot ferry that leaves just 100m from the villa.
Viganj has many excellent family run restaurants, serving seafood caught in the bay. The village is also Croatia's premium windsurfing and kiteboarding capital, with great facilities, tuition for beginners and quite a spectical for those on shore to enjoy (the villa's seafront terraces overlook the main areas).
For those wishing to stay closer to shore, the village has delightful little beaches, with boutique bars dotted along the sea edge through the village and beyond.
It's a perfect safe, seaside escape for groups & families.
Just a little about myself and my villa home...I am Richard, the British owner. After buying the property, we spent 3 years of painstaking and dedicated restoration using local craftsmen.
If you choose to come and stay, I can arrange low cost airport (Dubrovnik) transfers to and from the the villa, far cheaper than those offered on line through a general search. Cars can be hired locally for days out. I also offer a free pre-arrival shopping service - just send me a list for provisions you will require for your first evening/breakfast only, and all will be awaiting you upon your arrival. Groceries simply charged as detailed on the receipt.
My sea edge villa home has exposed original stone blending with stylish, contemporary finishings, hi-end sanitary ware & furnishings. Footprints is fully air-conditioned, and heated if you come in the cooler months. The villa actually dates back 2 centuries and its original features have been carefully retained, yet it offers modern elegance in one the most amazing location one would wish to find in Croatia.
You'd fly to Dubrovnik (I can advise about flights and book luxury transfers for you.
My home is right on the sea front, near the 18th century church in the middle of the village so no car is needed, as every facility one requires (beaches, bars, restaurant, shop, water taxi) is no more than 100 metres in either direction.
The TV system runs UKTV2GO - a Internet system to provide top UK and International channels.
Of course, there is free wireless Internet all through the villa.
You may be interested to read in the publication - 'The Croatian Adriatic', published by N&N, available on line and a definitive guide to Croatia, that it states in this region's section - 'the houses & bay of Viganj form what is the most beautiful location on the Adriatic'.
The lovely pool is private and is in the rear courtyard, and a good size of 8.3mx 6m. It's surrounded by sun beds & has a locally made stone dining table for all. The villa is fully gated to secure little wandering guests from escaping.
The front of the villa, overlooking the clear and inviting Adriatic is the real unique feature of my villa. A huge terrace, west facing with comfy settee for lounging, and a further stone table and chairs for sunset dining is such a special place to just take in the beauty with your family and friends.
It's worth noting that Viganj hosts the national, and every few words the World windsurfing championships, so from the terrace you can watch the pro's doing there stuff as well as have a go yourself. Tuition is offered on our beach to beginners. If teenagers are in your party, they will love to 'hang out' with the surfers (one of my first photos shows the beach, (with bars for a beer) from where this exhilarating sport can be enjoyed...or just watched!).

A Wonderful Place To Stay

A Fabulous Time at Footprints Villa
By Julia Goldsmith on 04-Jul-2026We had a fabulous time staying at Footprints villa. We were a family group of seven adults: the villa was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. The location just breathtakingly stunning- majestic and dramatic mountains all around and clear blue sea just a few yards away. Communication with the owner was exceptional beforehand and during our stay the pool was serviced three times and towels refreshed once. We honestly didn't want to come home and highly recommend this beautiful place. Rooms: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5 Rooms: Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and en suite facilities. Very well equipped kitchen. Nearby activities: Bike hire, water sports equipment and boat hire available nearby. Safety: it's a quiet, family orientated place. We had absolutely no safety concerns. Walkability: The road along the sea front is flat, rising up at each end of the village. Food and drinks: There are restaurants in Viganj and many more in Korcula and Orebic, which are within easy reach. There are 3 or 4 supermarkets in Orebic and a smaller convenience store and bakery within 5 minutes walk of the villa. Villa highlights: Luxury, Great view, Quiet, Great value
The Most Incredible Villa!
By Nicola Walker on 27-Jun-2026The most incredible villa! There were 9 adults and we were all so comfortable. Great bedrooms, lots of seperate spaces within the villa and just the most amazing view. We swam in the pool, sat and ate watching the windsurfers and wandered along to a few bars and restaurants. We all absolutely LOVED it. We were incredibly well looked after before the visit and during. Great instructions and then a friendly face on the ground. It really was FIVE stars in every aspect. Thank you! Stunning Seafront Villa
By Becky Lunn on 20-Jun-2026STUNNING SEAFRONT VILLA WITH POOL. A 5 BEDROOM LUXURY HOME. NORTH OF DUBROVNIK. A beautiful house in a beautiful location...We had a wonderful week with 9 adults. The house is right be the sea, in a quite area. Very little traffic, and in easy walking distance of everything you could need - a small supermarket, bars, restaurants, a bakery etc. We swam in the sea every day.As promised, there is a nice breeze in the afternoon that picks up from the sea, which meant that even though the temperatures were up to 32 degrees, it wasn't too hot to sit outside. Watching the wind surfing and kite surfing, whilst having a drink on the sea front was a highlight.All the bedrooms in the house are a good size. The house is recently renovated and the kitchen area is really spacious. We cooked and sat outdoors to eat in the evening and it was perfect. We had a great time and I'd definitely recommend the house to anyone if you are holidaying in Croatia. Date of arrival - 13 June 2026
Wonderful Stay
By Julie Dunlevy on 13-Jun-2026We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this lovely villa. It is in a beautiful location in a quiet village &, literally, four steps away from the crystal clear sea. The front terrace is perfect for appreciating the views & catching sight of the kite surfers doing their thing! The house itself is stylish & well equipped, with some nice “extra” touches like the toiletries & extensive welcome pack. We didn’t really need the air con, but it is good to have when it is really hot. We enjoyed lounging by the pool, having a swim & swimming in the sea. Viganj is a chilled place with a few restaurants & beach bars, all within a short stroll of the villa. We hired a car which allowed us to explore nearby villages. Also, the water taxi over to Korcula Old Town is a must. Well worth a visit & lots of restaurants. Richard was super helpful & his communication & advice was spot on. A Wonderful Holiday at Footprints Villa

It is spacious and stylishly decorated, with a well-equipped kitchen that has everything you need to prepare meals — and there are also some excellent restaurants nearby. The villa sits in a beautiful, unspoilt seaside village with stunning views of the sea and Korcula island. There is plenty to do in and around Viganj — hiking, cycling, kite and wind surfing, wine tasting — and we also loved visiting the nearby islands.
