Villa Tamaris is five minutes walk away from the centre of the village of Durban Corbières near Narbonne and Perpignan and 30 mins drive from the glorious beaches of the Mediterranean. It is a short drive from the airports of Carcassonne, Beziers and Perpignan , a little further to Toulouse, Montpellier and Girona [Northern Spain]
The villa has a stunning panoramic view over the beautiful Corbières Hills that stretch from the Mediterranean to the Spanish border and are steeped in Cathar history.
The area has long hot summers and mild winters with a wealth of castles, ancient monasteries, medieval cities and beautiful beaches.
Villa Tamaris is five minutes' walk from the centre of the lovely village of Durban Corbières with a supermarket, boulangerie, bank, pharmacy, restaurant, bar and several wine caves. There is an organic wine producer a couple of minutes' walk away! The wines are excellent and very good value.
The villa is equipped to a very high standard with a brand new contemporary kitchen and new furniture.
The kitchen is equipped with: Electric hob and oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, cafetiere, toaster and many other conveniences.
The living area is comfortably appointed and is complete with TV (with English TV channels and for use with Firestick) and DVD. Double French sliding doors open out onto a teak deck surrounding the private swimming pool, barbeque and outdoor seating area, which are south facing and sunny all day.
The dining area is part of the overall open plan living space with a large dining table, 6 chairs and is fully equipped with crockery, glassware, utensils and a stunning view of the Cathar castle which is lit up at night.
Bathrooms
The upstairs bathroom services the master bedroom and is equipped with shower, WC and handbasin. The downstairs bathroom services the twin bedroom and is similarly equipped.
Bedrooms
Upstairs in this lovely two bedroomed villa is the master bedroom. This pretty double bedroom has substantial (fitted) wardrobe space and wonderful views across the village and hills
Downstairs there is a twin bedroom with views across the hills and an ensuite bathroom.
Outside
Villa Tamaris is equipped with its own 7.5mx3.5m private pool, which is not overlooked. A teak deck surrounds the pool with a seating area and stone built BBQ. the side garden has lavender, rosemary and oleander planted.

Eating out is a gastronomique delight with restaurants varying from a three-star Michelin in Fontjoncouse to local restaurants proving exceptional cuisine at reasonable prices
Resort description
Visitors can immerse themselves in the ancient history of the area. Medieval castles like Chateau Queribus and Chateau Peyrepertuse sit high on mountainous outcrops commanding the area around them. The beautiful walled city of Carcassonne is a must to visit as are the monasteries at Lagrasse and Fontfroide. This area is Cathar country and historians will find a wealth of history to savour and enjoy. Nearby Narbonne and Beziers have a wonderful array of shops and fresh food markets. Just 15-20 minutes away is the lovely town of Sigean with its highly rated African Reserve. the nearest beaches of La Franqui and Leucate are only 30 minutes away by car with beaches which stretch for miles and safe swimming in the Mediterranean waters.
Windsurfing and other maritime pursuits are also available.
There are lovely seafood restaurants along the promenades. Horse riding, golf, tennis and sailing are all within easy reach and the local hills are criss-crossed with delightful paths for hill walking. The Villa is an ideal base for skiing and winter sports for those who wish to travel to the Pyrenees skiing resorts and the famous principality of Andorra.
Wine in the Languedoc is fast becoming an important wine region and a tour round the region and the locality offer to the Chateau and Caves/cooperatives offer exceptional quality and affordable prices.
