Description
Heritage Cottage at PK CottagesHeritage Cottage is a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and countryside tranquillity, all in one great location, close to lots to see and do. With space for up to 5 guests, and upto 2 well behaved dogs, this cottage retreat offers everything you need for a relaxing break.
Heritage Cottage is thoughtfully laid out to ensure you have a great stay. On the ground floor, you'll find a comfortable living room with a Freeview TV, perfect for relaxing after a day out. The spacious kitchen and dining area includes everything you need, including a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, oven, fridge and microwave. There is a washing machine and freezer on the ground floor too. There's also a modern shower room with a shower cubicle and toilet. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms – one with a double bed, and the other with three single beds – along with a separate toilet for added convenience.
The cottage is situated on a small shared courtyard, with its own garden furniture, overlooking the historic Bempton Mill and is surrounded by wonderful East Yorkshire countryside. Just a walk or a short drive away from the cottage you'll also find the wonderful RSPB Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve, home to thousands of seabirds, including the famous puffins and miles of rugged coastline and award winning beaches.
Traditional seaside towns are also within easy reach including, Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough with a selection of great restaurants, beaches, funfairs and arcades. History buffs will be satisfied too as they will love the nearby Sewerby Hall and Gardens, an elegant stately home set in stunning grounds with a zoo, café, and breathtaking sea views— all less than 10 minutes by car from the cottage. A little closer to nature, Danes Dyke, a woodland nature reserve and beach, offers beautiful walking trails and is also just a short drive or cycle away.
For those willing to venture a little further, York and the North York Moors National Park make excellent day trips, all within 45–80 minutes’ drive. And if you’re a fan of heritage railways or Harry Potter, a trip to Goathland (the filming location for Hogsmeade Station) is well worth the scenic journey.
With so much to do and see, this is the ideal base for exploring Yorkshire’s coast and countryside. Plus, we are dog friendly too, so the whole family can enjoy the getaway!

- Upto 2 well behaved dogs are welcome in your cottage for a fee of £25 per stay - just add a pet to your stay when booking
- Check in time is 4pm on your day of arrival and check out is 10am.
- Heritage Cottage is part of PK Cottages which is a small family run site with 4 cottages in total, so if you have a larger family/group and need a second cottage on the same site please get in touch.
Getting to Heritage Cottage is easy and straightforward. Located between Bridlington and Filey, the cottage is accessible via the A165 and is well-connected to major routes from Hull, York, and Leeds. Once booked, we will send full detailed directions. There is a safe secure key box and guests are given the code for this a few days before they arrive.
Payment is made via a secure link which will be sent to you once booked. We take a small deposit unless the stay is within 6 weeks of the booking date in which case we take full payment. There is a £125 Damage deposit which is then refunded within 7 days of your stay if the cottage is left as it is found.

Fantastic Place to Stay!
By Gav Scott on 25-Jul-2025Fantastic Place to Stay ! Just returned from PK Cottages. Location is perfect (especially if you like birds) . Spacious and modern , brilliantly laid out. Had some lovely walks from here - Bempton Cliffs is about 40 mins away on foot and 5 mins by car. I'm now planning a "Puffin" room in our house. Can't wait to re-book for later in the year. Wonderful hosts and thank you for going the extra mile. We're going to plan our trips to the East Coast further in advance so we can book these amazing cottages.

From a welcome pack with coffee & tea etc to ensuring that they are always on hand for any issues that could arrive. The cottages are well equipped, comfortable and very well maintained. Absolutely Perfect Stay

Plenty of parking made it super convenient, and the property was spotless and well-equipped with everything we could possibly need. Communication was clear and seamless. We felt right at home and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!
