Description

PLEASE NOTE: SPECIAL OFFER FOR EASTER BREAK HOLIDAYS: £250 OFF PER WEEK BETWEEN 23 MARCH - 20 APRIL
This charming villa is only 5 minutes' walk from the traditional French village centre, on the outskirts of Montpellier, with its ancient church and delightful river walks. It's only 10 mins by car to the beautiful historic centre of Montpellier. Access to the house is via a short private drive into the pleasantly landscaped grounds.

It is very generously laid out with spacious lounges, terraces to the front garden and cool terraces in the back. The large, rambling and secluded garden with its own generous pool, terraces and barbecue area has been landscaped to preserve the natural beauty of the original Languedocian Garrigue. Garden furniture around the pool and patios, and a built-in outdoor barbecue provide an inviting opportunity to relax late into the warm summer nights.

The interior of the house is tastefully furnished with a spacious living room with large screen LED 3D TV; second spacious living room with French door to the back terrace, and windows overlooking the back garden; dining room with French doors to the shaded back terrace; fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher.

There are 5 comfortable bedrooms, 1 with double beds, 3 with King size beds, 1 with a full-size double bunk bed for 2, adults or children. One of the upstairs bedrooms has its own balcony; there is also a study with a sofa bed for 1 or 2, leading onto the front terrace; 3 bathrooms, separate WC; the basement is spacious with provision for up to two cars. It also has a laundry area with a washing machine and drier, and an additional fridge/freezer. There is also a play area in the basement with a table tennis table, and various weights equipment.

Prices are given in the prices table on a weekly basis throughout the year.
30% deposit to secure booking. Damage deposit of £350 and rest of payment 6 weeks before the holiday. Please note, if unforeseeable circumstances, f.ex accident or illness, necessitate a change of plan, we will endeavour to give you alternative dates for your booking, and if not possible, refund your deposit, or if already paid in full, refund your total costs.
Please note electricity will be charged according to your usage, to save energy and also to avoid heavy bills by over-usage. In the peak season these costs are anyway small, around £50.

Grabels is also know of being part of the Camino de Santiago, also known as the Way of St. James (Jakobsweg), extending from different countries of Europe, and even North Africa, on its way to Santiago de Compostela.
The route through Grabels is picked up from Arles via Montpellier and leads via the Pont du Diable to St Guilhem-le-Desert and beyond towards Montarnaud.
If you walk some (even small) distance from Grabels you can obtain the famous pilgrim stamp in the church of Grabels as proof of having joined the route.

Fabulous holiday

By Tony Sandells on 27-Aug-2022

We enjoyed a fabulous holiday full of delights ranging from flamingo-watching at Palavas salt-flats to fireworks at the Grabels Chateau, which was just 10 minutes away after a quick wine stop at the gorgeous bar in town. We loved Guilhem-le-Desert, especially the Pont Diable - some fantastic views and a day well spent in the quaint medieval village full of fascinating trinkets. We visited Pecanas village as well, and followed the trail using a map from the office de tourisme in town. The village itself has a great variety of shops and a long history! Our mornings now won`t be the same without a croissant from the town bakery. We went to the Sunday brocante on the Montpellier Peyrou and were amazed at the deals on offer - it was a highlight of the week for sure.¨The house has been lovely, and the pool was a welcome relief after sport to cool down and soak up the sun. Thanks for a great week. The Sandells

GREAT!

By Terje Devold on 03-Aug-2022

893terjed Alesund, Norway Great! Left on Jul 20, 2022 for a stay in Jul 2022 Four Norwegian couples in our sixties ended a 6 days bike ride from Bordeaux to Toulouse in this wonderful villa in the outskirts of Montpellier for a weeks rest. What a wonderful villa and village! Despite 35-37 degrees we managed to have wonderful days by the pool and in the shadows in the beautiful garden. The village supplied us with all we needed - even a free jazz festival! Christine as the owner and Claire as the local manager gave us detailed instructions and great advise on what to do and where. Thanks a lot! Highly recommended!

Everlasting Memories

By Bull/Washle on 31-Jul-2021

On our long 15 hour car journey to the Villa we was asked by one of the boys; what is a childhood memory? Well this holiday summed this up for us! Hours splashed away in the pool with favorite games like Marco polo and water polo being amongst our favorites. We had amazing days out, visiting the port/fishing town of Montpellier, to go-karting , canoe rapids and Sete beach; not to forget the endless trips to supermarkets for french sticks, all sorts of cheese, fresh fish and salads. We have been so well fed and watered, it will feel strange not having a beer or a G&T for a midday refreshment. ( opps nearly forgot the amazing trip to a local vineyard aswell!). After the previous years covid has made us endured, we are so grateful and thankful for our trip here. The villa smashed all of our expectations out of the park and we are leaving here feeling lucky and privilege to have this in our memory bank. Thank you for having us! Ps - its safe to says the boys now know the meaning of a childhood memory and best of all, they have experienced one to keep forever! X
