The barn had everything we needed for our stay. The deck in the back garden was ideal for our BBQ dinners. There is a lot to do not far from the barn but we primarily visited the local beaches and found the Atlantic a very swimmable temperature! A lovely quiet location with just a couple of other properties but still close to the village for amenities. The owner, Steve, was very helpful throughout and made everything straightforward. I would definitely recommend this barn if you're looking for a peaceful getaway in a clean, up to date property.
The holiday we were hoping for 4 of 5 The lovely property gave us just the holiday we were looking for. It was comfortable and very easy to live in. Everything worked as it should, including the wifi. We loved watching the birds and wandering along the paths nearby. The weather was super, we visited a different beach on each of our 8 afternoons, some sandy, some with rock pools, we paddled and sat in the sun. Many thanks to Stephen for answering my questions so patiently, for allowing us to book mid-week and for the wine on arrival Review Submitted: 28-Oct-2016 Date of Stay: October 2016 Source: HomeAway Owner's Response: We are so glad it was the holiday you was looking for and you enjoyed our barn in which we try and make your stay a most memorable one for all the right reasons, you're more than welcome back.
Lovely converted barn. Ideal getaway in the vendee. 4 of 5 Really enjoyed a 12 night stay at the barn. Very comfortable & spacious in the heart of quiet countryside but within less than 15 min drive to the coastal towns and beautiful sandy beaches. We loved the comfortable lounge area with large screen TV and the modern kitchen area that has all the equipment you might need. The decking area is also ideal for enjoying the sunshine. We enjoyed day trips to Puy du Fou theme park and Futuroscope. La Rochelle is an hours drive and worth a visit. Definitely the attraction to the Vendee are the golden sandy beaches and there are numerous to pick from for swimming and water sports. You definitely need a car to get about but if you don't mind that and want peace and quiet then the barn is ideal. The only issue we experienced was access to the WiFi that was less accessible than we would have liked. Hopefully the owner will sort that as it wouldn't take much to improve. Overall this is a very nice gite and we would be happy to stay there again if we return to the Vendee. Review Submitted: 06-Aug-2017 Date of Stay: July 2017 Source: HomeAway Owner's Response: We are really glad you enjoyed our barn and the local area. The wifi is a issue we are having difficulties with at the minute moment and are taking steps to resolve these.
