Description
>Cwary Vean was built by Viscount Clifton, circa 1900. The single storey centrally heated cottage has light, spacious rooms with high ceilings. There are two large bedrooms (a double and a twin) and a family bathroom (walk in power shower). The sitting diner with breakfast bar and two sofas has a very good natured log burner. There is an electric cooker and hob, as well as a microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, washing machine, cafetieres, blender and all the obvious kitchen accessories. There is a porch for boot, cycle, dog washing and clothes drying. There is a covered veranda with table and chairs which is the perfect place to take in the sea view or catch winter sun. The garden patio catches the sun from rising to setting. There is a private gate from the garden onto the lane down to Polurrian beach and the coastal path. Through the main entrance gate there is ample parking for two guest cars if requiredSituated midway between Mullion Village and the beach, Cwary Vean is ideal for walkers or beach lovers, but conveniently placed as a centre to explore the Peninsular's wide diversity of villages, Manor houses, exotic gardens, moors, woods, beaches and estuaries as well as numerous castles both intact and ruined.. A great place to stay
By Rob and Sue Holman on 13-May-2022We stayed at Cwary Vean with our son for a week during May and can thoroughly recommend it as a base for exploring the Lizard peninsula and West Cornwall. The property is ideally located just 5 minutes walk from the nearest beach and the spectacular coastal footpath, with great walks in both directions. It is clean, comfortable, peaceful and homely, with all the facilities one could reasonably require on a week's holiday. The owner lives adjacent to the cottage and is very helpful and friendly.
Cornish Coast hideaway
By Alan Marshall on 22-Apr-2022This was our fifth stay at Quary Vean, it is the kind of place that you want to keep returning to. Tucked away from the main village along a pretty little road flanked by traditional Cornish hedgerows, the house has all the charm of an Edwardian seaside retreat. It is secluded and beautifully maintained inside and out, with lots of its original features, and is light and airy. It has all the amenities you could need for your stay, such as a well appointed kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. Chris the host is attentive yet unobtrusive, and is a mine of information on things to see and do in the area. The wonderful Pollurian Cove is literally 5 minutes away down a track, and the surrounding Lizard Peninsula genuinely has some of the most stunning coastal scenery to be found in the British Isles. A great place to bring your four-legged friends too!
Amazing time great to be back !
By Louise on 15-Apr-2022This was a return trip to the accommodation for us ! And it did not disappoint. We are a family of 4 (2 girls 9 &13) the accommodation was clean and tidy as always and the improvements in the bathroom were great. As the location is so great we didn’t move the car until day 4 of our hols and we enjoyed being able to walk to poldu beach for hot chocolate, mullion cove and up to the Polurrian hotel for a beautiful Sunday lunch. Sausage sandwich’s on the beach watching the sunset and the waves roll in was perfect. The conservatory and boot room are so great for all the wetsuits and sandy stuff. We will be back.
