Overview
Description
This is one of the prettiest and most interesting regions of France for a holiday, noted for excellent food & wine. Tournon is a hilltop bastide town, also dating from the 12th Century. There are many ancient chateaux and mediaeval towns to explore, easy canoeing on the River Lot and some of the largest underground caves in Europe, including Peche-Merle with its prehistoric cave paintings. Chateau du Trichot is in Aquitaine / Lot-et Garonne, near Tournon d'Agenais. See www.chateau-rentals.com for floorplans.Chateau du Trichot has its own large (6m x 12m) fenced swimming pool and floodlit Tennis Court. Also provided is Table Tennis, TV , hi-fi and a Grand piano. There is a King size four poster bed (with a modern comfortable mattress!) in the huge master bedroom. Sleeps 15 in 6 bedrooms total, 3 with en-suite bathrooms, 2 more bathrooms. The private courtyard has a barbeque, and there are 18 acres of surrounding land, including its own vineyard, with views across beautiful countryside. An adjacent cottage is available (only let with the chateau) to provide 3 more large double bedrooms, bathroom and living space. A huge barn is available for wedding receptions etc, with capacity for up to 140 guests. Tables and chairs can be provided together with details for appropriate caterers.
On entering Chateau du Trichot one sees the enormous stone staircase, and the whole ground floor has stone vaulted ceilings. Upstairs the ceilings are tall, with massive oak beams. Very comfortable. Large stone fireplaces. The Kitchen has 2 electric ovens, micro wave, gas hob, dishwasher and 2 large fridge/freezers. A washing machine and tumble drier are also provided in one of the ground floor bathrooms. See our website www.chateau-rentals.co.uk for floorplans to see bedroom and bathroom layouts for both Chateau and Cottage.

By Emma on 17-Aug-2024We had a wonderful week at Le Trichot. The Chateau was beautiful, clean and really spacious for our group of 4 families with young children. So much for the children to explore. We loved the tennis and the pool was amazing. It could not have been any better and I would recommend very highly. Thank you xxx
Beautiful Chateau
By Jacqueline Buckley on 10-Aug-2024We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely chateau. We were a party of 6 adults, 1 toddler, 1 baby, 5 children, 3 teenagers. The pool and tennis court were great. Comfortable and well equipped.. We enjoyed the local fete one evening.
Perfect in every way
By Jenny Soddy on 03-Aug-2024From the wonderful swimming pool to the all purpose tennis court and all the facilities you would ever need to the amazing family accommodation - this place has it all. Absolutely beautiful and the best bakery in France within a 5 minute walk!!!!
Parfait
Amazing week at Chateau du Trichot
By Silva L on 10-Jul-2021We had a lovely week at Chateau du Trichot with family and friends. The place is absolutely perfect for groups with children of different ages - swimming pool, tennis, table tennis and beautiful and spacious garden kept them entertained all the time. The main house was extremely charming and comfortable with large bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen - we couldn’t ask more. Also the cottage on the side was just great. During the week we were in contact with owners and the housekeeper - can’t thank them enough for all the help and friendliness. The location of the Chateau du Trichot is also great with all the shopping possibilities nearby as well s wide range of activities. Hope to return someday!
Fabulous Family Holiday
By Amanda & Stephen/ Joanna S. on 08-Sep-20185/5 Excellent Joanna S. 8 Sept 2018 Fabulous family Holiday We had a wonderful week at Chateau du Trichot. What a lovely home you have. We saw much to enjoy in the garden, including two deer, humming birds on the lavender and a very sedate hare. The pool was rarely empty and we (attempted to) play tennis ! We all enjoyed evening singing around the Grand Piano, after warm balmy suppers on the Terrace. We packed the car with a lot of local wine and duck to bring home. Murielle was first class and I enjoyed practising my French with her. I also had a chat with your neighbour who popped in with some local fruit, that I hope you''ve enjoyed by now. We enjoyed every moment of it, bar three glasses which we broke, our apologies (two wine and one small tumbler ) I hope everything else was left in order ? Would love to return. Amanda & Stephen
