Description

A grown up and tranquil place, Wagon Hill is perfect for a chilled getaway. Situated just 15 minutes drive from the "Les Plus Les beaux Villages" 13th Century town of Monflanquin and between the communes of Salles and Monsempron-Libos, which holds one of the largest markets in South West France every Thursday. Wagon Hill is a south facing two bedroomed ensuite modernised gite. Separated from owner's farmhouse by a large open tobacco barn and perched on top of rolling meadows, overlooking woods and surrounded by plum trees, it's easy to unwind and enjoy the quietness.
Wagon Hill has been finished to a high standard and has a private pool (6mx3m) and private parking; an open plan sitting, dining room and well equipped modern kitchen with separate utility room and WC.
The gite benefits from Fibre WIFI, TV and Google home.
Outside the terrace has sun loungers, dining table and gas bbq, with incredible views to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. A large garden in which to potter and ponder or stare at the stars in a non-polluted sky.
All linen, towels, pool towels and hairdryers are supplied. The gite is a no pet and non-smoking property.

Wagon Hill is 45 mins away from Bergerac airport; 1.5 hrs away from Toulouse airport and 2 hrs from Bordeaux airport. Driving from Calais, Roscoff and Cherbourg it’s a 9 hr drive.
How active you are is up to you, sitting in area of the 'Golden Triangle' the medieval Bastide towns of Monflanquin, Villeréal and Monpazier are a short drive and straying a little further you can kayak or boat trip on the Dordogne River. Local markets, night markets, brocantes, vineyards and restaurants are here to be discovered or you can chill by the pool, watching the deer, hare, birds of prey and our resident barn owl might even make an appearance. We are happy to book yoga sessions, Swedish massage, kayaking, cake decorating classes and bbq courses, all of which are within 40 minutes.
However you wish to spend your holiday, we look forward to meeting you!

Simply Perfect

By Sara Marshall on 29-Jun-2024

Absolutely wonderfully place to stay. The Gite is done to a very high standard, spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Brenda and Davy are perfect hosts, giving you both privacy but there if you need anything. Great location for visiting chateaus, canoeing down the Dordogne, Night and day markets, or just enjoying the countryside.

Perfect place to relax

By Huw & Sam on 22-Jun-2024

Everything about the stay was fantastic. The house was very comfortable with everything we needed, the outside area with the pool was perfect and the views and peace were something else entirely. The house was well situated for beautiful villages and towns & the supermarkets were close by. Our hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcome, they were there if we needed anything. Highly recommend a stay here!

A wonderful, peaceful, perfect retreat.

My wife and I stayed for a week in June 2024. Brenda and David are fantastic hosts. They greeted us on arrival and provided us with a welcome hamper. The gites is amazing. Everything you could possibly need is provided . There are incredible views across open countryside. The loudest sound you'll typically hear come from the birds and insects. At night, the stars are bright due to no light pollution. The pool is great for a cooling dip! Our hosts were always available if we needed them, but never intrusive. You'll need a car to get around, and a visit to a Chateau or two is a must. We simply cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you like peace, tranquility, amazing views, and an escape from hustle & bustle then you will not be disappointed! We'll be back for sure.
