Tournesol gîte is one of three gîtes here at L'Oustal du Viaur.Perched above the Viaur Valley in a peaceful hamlet, Tournesol is an ideal base to explore this lesser known quarter of SW France
Set within spacious shared grounds with our two other family-friendly gîtes, L'Oustal du Viaur is the perfect place for a relaxed holiday where both children and adults can unwind. Families will love the large 12 x 6m swimming pool, while younger guests can enjoy the toddler play area, swings and slide. There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained, from pétanque and table tennis to badminton, swingball and table football — ideal for fun-filled afternoons together. For families who enjoy the outdoors, a variety of walking and hiking routes begin right from the doorstep, offering everything from gentle strolls to more adventurous trails through the beautiful countryside. Conveniently located near the RN88, L'Oustal du Viaur makes an ideal base for discovering the very best of both the Tarn and Aveyron regions. Spend your days exploring some of France’s most beautiful villages, including Cordes-sur-Ciel, Belcastel, Najac and Sauveterre-de-Rouergue, with their medieval streets, (night) markets and family-friendly atmosphere. Eating out is easy and varied, whether you choose a relaxed family meal in nearby Pampelonne or Naucelle, both just 10 minutes away, or treat yourselves to one of the excellent Michelin-starred restaurants in Sauveterre, Albi or Belcastel.
Step inside and feel instantly at home in the spacious kitchen and dining area, fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self-catering family holiday. Whether it’s relaxed breakfasts before a day exploring or family dinners together in the evening, there’s plenty of space for everyone to gather. From the kitchen, you move into the cosy living room — the perfect spot to unwind after a busy day by the pool or visiting local villages. A convenient walk-in shower room and WC are located just nearby on the ground floor. Upstairs, families will appreciate the flexible sleeping arrangements. The bright triple bedroom is ideal for children or young adults, while next door the generous master bedroom provides a peaceful retreat for parents. A family bathroom and separate WC complete the upstairs accommodation, making it easy and comfortable for family stays.
The gîte has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher and plenty of utensils and dishware to make self catering easy.
Check-in is open from 5pm and check-out is by 10am.
Airports are Toulouse (1hr20) and Rodez (40mins summer only). We are 2 minutes away from the RN88 exit Tauriac de Naucelle.
To complete booking we require a 300€ deposit, the rest is paid either before or during the stay. Please not the deposit is not refundable and so we strongly advise you to take out travel insurance to cover any eventualities of cancellation.

By Russell on 25-May-2025Perfect place for our 12 person team of riders and Swannies. They provided water and a hose to allow the boys to prepare their bikes after training and before the big race. Best part was as they didn’t have anyone coming straight in after our visit the leaving time was flexible and we were able to bring the boys back to get showered before they flew back to the UK. By Lorène on 17-May-2026Nous avons passé un très bon séjour entre amis chez Julie. Les gîtes sont très spacieux et tout est pensé pour passer un bon séjour. Nous avons apprécié la grande tablée du gîte Bleuet, parfaite pour affronter le mauvais temps, et la possibilité de se servir du poêle à bois. Nous recommandons vivement ce lieu et espérons pouvoir revenir dans quelques temps.

By Vin on 15-Jun-2019Un super WE chez Julie et Andy! Nous voulions fuir la chaleur toulousaine et passer un WE au calme et au frais entre amis, c’est chose faite. Le cadre est magnifique : charme de la campagne, piscine et vue sur la vallée du Viaur. Le gîte était très bien équipé pour notre petit garçon d’un an. Merci encore à Julie et à sa famille.
