This charming property is situated in the small sleepy hamlet of St Laurent, which has a couple of farmhouses and a church and is set in the pretty countryside of the Lot, South West France. The property is within walking distance (1 km) to a small village which has a café/bar and is about 7 kms from the medieval Bastide town of Lauzerte, which has a supermarket, bank, bakers, small shops, restaurants and a weekly market. In the peak season there are regular musical events in the square. The property is also near to Montcuq which is a popular lively village with restaurants, a large swimming lake and local shops and a popular, busy Sunday morning market. It is in an ideal location for exploring traditional French villages with local excellent cuisine and good wines from the Cahors vineyards. If you are looking to relax the area is quiet and peaceful, perfect for country walks - it's situated on the pilgrims' route, Santiago de Compostela - or just lazing in the sun by the swimming pool.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August, Ian is a very helpful host and was easy to get hold of before we went. Luckily we didnt need to contact him whilst we were away as everything was perfect. The house was spotlessly clean, even no dust or cobwebs (phew). The kitchen is well stocked and the house has lots of board games stored away and English TV if you need it. The pool is amazing!!!! When we booked, there wasnt really a picture of the pool so we didnt know what to expect, Ian, if you havent already, you should definately get another picture of your pool put on here. It was perfect, the sides were slanted at the deep end so if you find yourself in trouble you can swim to the side and are able to stand again, it has 3 large walk in steps to the pool which was perfect for our 2 year old, he could sit and play in the pool and actually be able to stand up at that part.. the pool lining is soft, so if you unfortunately fall (our eldest is a like a bull in a China shop), it does hurt so much. And it was fenced off from the rest of the garden. The fact that the pool is heated made a huge difference to us, this is the 1st time we've had a heated pool and its definately something that will draw us in in the future, we used it alot more. The area is beautiful and quiet, lots of lovely countryside to walk around and enjoy. only 15 mins from nearest supermarket. I highly recommend this property to and family wishing to holiday in this area of France.
