Description
Triangle Cottage is a detached and comfortable self-catering cottage in the centre of picturesque Tawstock village. The village (a conservation area) has a thirteenth century church with some of the finest monuments in Devon. There are beautiful countryside views from the cottage, raised deck area and garden, and attractive woodland and countryside walks/runs from the village. Our holiday cottage has a modern farmhouse kitchen and sleeps 6-8 in 3 comfortable bedrooms but is also cosy for smaller groups. The cottage is centrally heated and double glazed with parking for 2-3 cars.Barnstaple with its lively Pannier market is 1½ miles away. Tawstock is well located for easy access to the North Devon coast and Exmoor, picturesque Appledore and Bideford, beaches at Croyde, Saunton Sands, Westward Ho!, and Instow. RHS Rosemoor and Marwood Gardens are a 20 minute drive. Tawstock is also well placed for the North Devon golf courses and walking and cycling holidays. The nearest access point to the Tarka Trail and coast path is just over a mile away. North Devon is a great place for a holiday for all ages. Our younger guests love visiting 'The Big Sheep', 'The Milky Way' and Combe Martin Dinosaur and Wildlife Park.
Our changeover day is Friday but we can be flexible subject to cleaning arrangements. Cleaning, broadband, heating, and use of linen and towels are included in the rental. The cottage is available for short breaks outside peak weeks for a minimum of 3 nights at 70% (4 nights 75%, 5 nights 80%, 6 nights 90%) of the weekly rate.
We offer a low occupancy (3 people or less) discount of 10% and a couple's (2 persons') discount of 15 % on all weekly rates apart from peak Summer. We are offering 2026 Early Bird Discounts of £50 on full week of £875 at Spring Bank and £75 on peak summer weeks (£1250 per week) booked 8 weeks or more in advance. Please contact the owner to discuss your holiday requirements.
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the rental is required at time of booking and the balance 8 weeks prior to the holiday. A refundable damages deposit of £100 is required with the balancing payment.

By Elisabeth on 15-Aug-2025We despaired of finding anywhere suitable to sleep 8 in N. Devon at a reasonable price. Then we stumbled on Triangle Cottage! A marvelous old family home now with a large airy kitchen added. The new kitchen is large enough to eat in with a view and all mod cons. The comfortable beds were all made up on arrival with nice bed linen, plenty of house towels provided but bring your own beach towels. The house was gleaming and very welcoming. 2 bathrooms so no queue! Beautifully landscaped garden on various levels. The garden also overlooks next door's paddock(?) which has been planted with various specimen trees. Altogether a glorious setting to eat breakfast on the terrace or watch the sunset from the balcony. A large barn owl silently glided out of the tree and onto the roof one night v close up, a rare treat! The comfortable sofas look onto a log burner for cosy evenings. Upstairs there are 2 bookcases whuch are well stocked with interesting books to read, adults and a full bookcase for children! Tawstock is 3 minutes drive from the main road, through a steep lane. We saw almost no traffic whilst there, a few walkers and a couple of horses. There are short walks you can do in the village. You really feel you've escaped the rat race! Only 5 minutes drive to the main station and large Tesco . We went to Putsborough most days, (buy a weekly car park season ticket , we only discovered that too late) or Croyde is nice. Park in the furthest council carpark at Croyde, or there is a N Trust one nearby. Beautiful sandy beaches, they are vast, so space for everyone! We went over to Appledore harbour on Monday evening. The local press band play there every Monday for an hour and a half. V British in the fading light. Check theor Facebook page for details. On Weds evening try visiting Borough Farm, . Sheepdog handling and birds of prey show. Check website. Charges apply. I would say if you can find a slot for Triangle Cottage, go and enjoy it! Heartily recommend
Stunning Cottage!

The kitchen is newly done out and is huge and beautiful with patio doors to the gorgeous balcony and stunning views. Great to have two rooms downstairs with TVs if you have children/friends who want to relax separately. Very close to Barnstaple and lots to do in the area. We will definitely stay again!

An excellent stay

The cottage is roomy, comfortable and clean , with all the facilities you could need and is in a rural location within easy reach of all North Devon's attractions. Glorious views from the outside seating looking out over the hills and we spent several tranquil evenings there watching the birds and other wildlife. The owners were friendly and approachable and twice contacted us to make sure all was ok. Definitely a property to recommend and we hope to return sometime soon.
Beautiful Cottage
By Chris and Andy on 13-Sep-2018We spent a week with part of our family in May and came back for a long weekend on our own at this beautiful cottage It is in a lovely rural village but only 2 miles from Barnstaple, so within easy reach of shops and places to eat. The cottage is so well equipped with everything that we needed for both our stays. We found lots of lovely beaches, for our visit in May and plenty of great gardens to see on our stay in September. The garden at the cottage is beautiful and on both occasions we were able to eat outside. We will be booking to come back next year.
Triangle Cottage
By Reeves family on 28-May-2018We spent the half term holiday here. Four adults and three children. The cottage is just as described. It's beautiful kept with everything that you could want in a home away from home. The gardens are beautiful and we were fortunate with the weather and able to sit out on the balcony for some meals and on the terrace for others. The toys and games kept the children happy while we got ready to go out. There are lots of wonderful beaches, gardens, woodland walks to enjoy in the area. We hope to come back soon.
