Overview
Description
TRULLO TERRABRONZATA lies secluded and close to the pretty and historic town of Cisternino. The location is very rural. It successfully merges the traditional, centuries old Trullo construction with contemporary living on two levels featuring all modern comforts and crisp interior design with antique appointments.
There are two bathrooms and a further guest bathroom with a shower. A twin bedroom and two double bedrooms sleeping six are located to provide cooler conditions, with fans and with central heating for the colder months. The oak kitchen is a bespoke Mark Wilkinson design, with quality appliances. A dining room next to the kitchen seats six and leads on to a large elevated dining terrace seating ten, and seating area. The sitting room is lateral with the dining and kitchen.
There is a television (for DVD only/ library on site ) but also with hundreds of Italian channels ! We have a CD/Ipod docking system and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth enabled for your choice of music. The sitting area has the view over a front terrace. A larger raised terrace has majestic views over many olive groves. The pool and dining/sunbathing terraces are located within almost two acres of garden with ancient olives, and extensive new planting maturing over fourteen years.
We have recently installed a large custom designed barbecue and naturally, had to have anther table ! With three external dining areas and one internal, we could almost sit 40 people now. For wining and dining, Puglia has much to offer. Cisternino is famed for it’s meat restaurants and within a short drive many adjacent towns have excellent dining options. Seasonal produce is cooked with ancient traditional recipes and more often with a vogue- ish twist. Puglia is one of Italy’s main olive oil producers and excellent wines such as Primitivo and Negromaro are delicious and becoming internationally recognised.
The pool is 10 x 5 metres with walk in steps, and has an adjacent shower, and a large shades pergola area. * Also please view our website on : pugliarental.org

So Good you’ll struggle to leave
By Geoff on 23-Jul-2026We had a fantastic stay at the Ancient Trullo with Pool. The property is stunning and even better in person. The house is beautifully finished and full of character, clearly reflecting the owners’ personal taste. Artwork, sculptures and thoughtful details are everywhere, and everything feels very high quality. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, and the outdoor terrace with a large dining table was perfect for meals and relaxing together. The house itself is very comfortable, and the gardens are mature, colourful and beautifully maintained, with plenty of places to sit and relax, including a hammock. The pool area is also excellent, with lots of space to unwind. Anthony, the property manager, was excellent — friendly, helpful, and very responsive. He kept the pool in great condition, sorted any issues quickly, and gave us great local recommendations. We also booked a private chef, Massimo Mancarella for a couple of evenings, which was a real highlight. He prepared 2 wonderful four-course meal and happily adapted dishes for vegetarians. He was friendly, professional, and took care of everything from cooking to full clean-up. We would highly recommend booking him if you can. The owners also checked in during our stay and provided a very helpful list of local recommendations, which was much appreciated. Our only complaint is that the property is so nice we barely left it — but that says everything. A beautiful, characterful property that feels very thoughtfully created. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it.

Hi Geoff and family. Thank you so much for your lovely review. Thrilled that you found the house enjoyable enough to spend much of your time there . We’re also pleased that you gave our chef a two day gig and that it was a great experience. We’re here and delighted to await any return visits.
An incredible retreat in Puglia
By Jeremy Bennett on 25-Jul-2025Trullo Terrabronzata was an amazing property for our family break in Puglia (Two adults and two teenage boys) . With beautiful outdoor space (pool area, outdoor kitchen and a stunning balcony to eat in the morning and evening), through to the incredibly well furnished interior. The property has all the mod cons you'd want whilst also feeling like you were in a traditional Trullo. Cisternino is a 5 minute drive with some amazing restaurants and many other gorgeous Puglia towns are an easy drive away. The owner was a great communicator and made sure the stay was a pleasant as it could be. We were given some great eating recommendations! For anyone wanting a relaxing property to be able to explore the Puglia region of Italy, you'd be hard pushed to find a better one than Trullo Terrabronzata. 100% recommended.

Stunning Villa
By Keeble Family on 01-Aug-2025We stayed here 1-10th August 2025. The villa does not disappoint, if anything the pictures don't due it justice, it has been dressed and styled in a fabulous way. Everything you could ask for has been thought about & available to use, just replace what you use, lovely Ethos. I have never seen so many coat hangers! You absolutely need a car but Cisternino is only a 4 minute drive and Ostuni (Beautiful and packed with restaurants) about 25 mins. Don't be fooled by Cisternino, you need to go down all the alleys/street to find the restaurants and squares, there is much more there than it initially looks. The area is very 'Italian' and not what we would consider touristy so felt we got to see real Italy. There is a deli/butchers about 2 roundabouts up from the villa, from 7.30pm is turns into an self service type Eatery - it was fabulous, well worth a visit. We also had a couple of great meals in Torre Canne - Ristorante Al Buco and Amare. We visited all the local towns and beaches. My biggest concern with the villa was the lack of Air conditioning but it is not needed, the way the villa is designed the rooms stay cool you get a lovely constant breeze through the bedrooms when the windows are open, we closed them at night due to mosquitos, there are ceiling fans in all the bedrooms, do not be put of due to no air con. Pool is not heated but once we were in we were fine! Massive thanks to Anthony, he sent us pin and address details, welcomed us and checked in to make sure all okay. Loved our 9 nights, thank you.
Seclusion, beauty & convenience
By Giles & family, West London on 16-Aug-2022From the moment we arrived, we regretted not having booked this lovely trullo house for longer than a week. It's very near the charming town of Cisternino, with it's intricate streets, abundant restaurants and commanding view over the valle d'Itria - and, also well located for edge of town supermarkets - e.g., an excellent Carrefour Express is 5 minutes away by car, and open seven days a week. Our arrival and departure was deftly handled by estate managers Anthony and Hayley, completely removing any unwelcome stress. The house is spacious - it has been expertly designed by its owners, both designers, to offer multiple areas in which to lounge, converse or dine, both inside and out - there's the right terrace for every time of the day! The kitchen is equipped with condiments so, after a quick shop, it's extremely easy to cook and to entertain. Bedrooms are in the lower ground floor, and well sheltered by the clever landscape design, so, even though we had mid to later 30 degree temperatures, the bedrooms, with fans, remained cool and comfortable. The pool is glorious, and has a sheltered and incredibly comfy seating area under a canvas-roofed pergola. It is almost completely private, although set in a open landscape of oleanders, cypresses and olive trees. We really couldn't recommend this property highly enough, and would love to return in the coming years.
A wonderful, relaxing place to fill your soul.
By Jo W. London on 20-May-2022You know when you look back on a holiday and reminisce on the places you’ve seen, the beaches you swam on, the great food you had and where you put all your stresses behind you.... This holiday will always be remembered as “the one in the Trullo”. I almost don’t want to say how wonderful it was, as then I would be letting everyone in on the secret. From the warmest welcome on arrival (it was late and we’d been delayed), being shown around and feeling like Alice in Wonderland, then sleeping in comfy, tasteful bedrooms, having the joy of a fully equipped kitchen and using elegant tableware and finding ourselves relaxing by a beautiful pool and consequently not leaving the Trullo for 3 days! (apart from grocery shopping) Not like us at all! It was the place to be. It felt special to constantly be struck by a piece of art on the wall or a blown glass ornament, the little touches here and there and the scenery. The website pictures don’t lie. “It was lush”, according to our 2 adult kids. They are not prone to compliments! I wouldn’t recommend it for families with under 16s as there are too many breakables and the pool doesn’t have a shallow end but for 6 adults sharing good times and have a taste for nicer things than your average villa, the kids were right. “It’s Lush”. A Blissful Week in Puglia
By Alison Lapthorn on 18-Jun-2022We stayed at Trullo Terrabronzata in June 2022 for our first family break after lockdown and it didn’t disappoint. The house is stunningly styled, with beautiful tranquil outside space and is very well-equipped. The pool area is delightful and there are many different options for eating and relaxing out of doors to choose from, depending on the time of day and your desire for sun or shade. The location is wonderfully peaceful, yet 5 minutes’ drive from the shops and restaurants of Cisternino. We fell in love with Puglia, and there are many delightful towns in the area to visit, offering excellent restaurants. The owners Mark and Stephen were extremely helpful and hospitable, and we would love to return one day.
