Situated in a triangle between Assisi, Perugia & Gubbio, the Owl can accommodate up to 8 people. The pool area with its comfortable sunbeds and sails is wonderful for relaxing and taking in the great views. The 8 metre diameter pool is very sociable. Children and adults alike just love it and the garden with its lizards and wildlife. There is a 'sitting room' with armchairs alongside a dining area and a barbecue with the best view ever! I have an enormous garden planted with ornamental and fruit trees plus a vineyard. It is easy to find a quiet spot to paint or just be! You can go for walks on Monte Cucco, the highest mountain in Umbria and watch the hand gliders, cream cattle and big herds of horses. in May, June and July the mountain wild flower meadows are a sight to behold! The world famous Grotte di Frasassi are nearby where you can see amazing stalagmite and stalactite formations!

The Owl has a large well equipped kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, sink, drainer and drainer cupboard, large fridge/freezer, worktops, microwave, large wooden dining table and benches. All house and pool towels are provided.

There are many good value restaurants close by if you don't feel like cooking! And the best pizzas just down the road! Many wonderful places to visit within an hour of here. Historical hilltop villages and towns, walking up to the highest mountain in Umbria meeting herds of horses and cream cattle, tasting truffles and salamis and great cheeses aged in caves under the mountains, horse riding and tennis just up the road......and much more! in early July, Umbria Jazz festival takes place in Perugia with live music creating a very special atmosphere. Wandering groups playing in the streets and gardens! Plus the exquisite beauty of Perugia.

Many of my guests have done a day trip to Rome using the direct train from just down the road….. you can hire electric bikes and explore the area.

June is a lovely time to come. Glorious wild flower meadows up in the hills and in my garden! July & August are hot but my home is at 500 metres so the evenings are pleasant. Come September and the schools will have gone back so sightseeing is a delight.

There are 3 double bedrooms, 2 with large double beds and the 3rd has bunk beds. There are also 2 sofa beds each for one person, one in its own room and one in the bedroom with the bunk beds. There are 2 shower rooms and a comfortable sitting room with a big settee, tables, armchairs and a selection of books, dvds and games, if by any chance it should rain!

The Owl has its own independent entrance. Outside there's a terrace with a long table, chairs & 2 drying racks. I also offer a discreet use of my washing machine. This is my family home and I can help with advice on places to visit, walks and family restaurants. Fantastic new road links have shortened the time to get to places such as Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno and the East Coast. Even driving up from Rome takes just over 2 hours! Perugia airport is only 20 minutes from us. Ryanair flies there early in the morning so i usually stay at the Premier Inn at London Stansted airport the night before. Good value and really comfy beds. Ancona airport is about 50 minutes from us. You can contact me on WhatsApp.

Regarding car hire....one family told me how they booked a rental car with free cancellation. Then nearer their arrival date they did another search and found the rental cost was much lower! So they cancelled the original booking and rebooked the new quote. Now that's worth a try! They saved nearly 40%!

A Euro 50 cleaning charge is asked for on your departure to save you donning rubber gloves and getting the mop out! After all you are on holiday!
