The villa was not within walking distance of shops and attractions and we had to hire 2 x cars in order to do our shopping and to take the children out. . The hot tub we were told was working was actually broken and full of scum, Julie told us that it had broken 2 days previously. . The villa was full of cockroaches and we were all covered in mosquito bites on the first day. Julie said that this was because she had emptied all the water from the broken hot tub and therefore all the cockroaches and mosquitos were coming in and around the villa due to this. . The electricity constantly cut off. We were having to get up all through the night to switch the power back on (as instructed by Julie on arrival) as we had a fridge and freezer full of drinks and food. . The air con unit in the children's room made extremely loud noises all night and then after a few days it started leaking and then packed in all together. Julie said this was because the air con was 20 years old. Julie said she was aware of how noisy the unit was as previous guests had complained about it. . We had to keep a hose pipe across the outside area and into the pool as instructed by Julie in order to keep the water in the pool topped up. . The plumber turned up during our second day as the outside BBQ sink had no pipe, just a bucket underneath that we were instructed to empty when full, and also to fix the tap in the toilet between 2 upstairs bedrooms as we were unable to wash our hands after using the toilet. . Eventually the amount of cockroaches in the villa was really upsetting everyone and the number of bites despite using repellents, etc was just too much and we therefore made the decision to leave the villa 4 days early and go to a hotel.
All fourteen of us had a great week in a fantastic house. The pool and the outside kitchen gave us the possibility to be together in the poolarea. The house had enought bedrooms and toilets to make the stay comfortable. Thank you Julie for all help and the service you provide us with. Good luck in the future! Since your visit we have had another little girl called Daisy to stay & she was never out of the pool---her parents were very pleased to be able to stay cool & keep a watchful eye from under the new large, shady, pergola. Nine adults ranging from 18yrs to 64 years stayed in villa for 7 nights. We were there for a family wedding. Not an area of Spain I have been to before, the Villa sits in a quiet area and is very private. Accommodation was perfect for our needs and everyone had their own bathroom and space. The pool area was wonderful and had a full outside kitchen area. We did as a whole spend a lot of our time around the pool area. The villa has every piece of equipment you need and more. (No need to pack towels) The owner provides an excellent customer service and is very experienced and knowledgeable and on hand if you need her. Ideal for a couple of families or an event. Would recommend car hire. Some stunning beaches about 20mins away. Some great shopping also. Weather was wonderful. Would highly recommend. We had a splendid holiday in the big house, early July 2015. We booked the house for my father-in-law's 80th birthday, and stayed there comfortably with three adult couples and 8 kids (10-22 yrs) in all, with three more relatives visiting during the waking hours. The house is very nice, but we didn't stay much indoors except for sleeping (A/C and fans secured good sleep). The gem of the house is the large patio area that held ample space for the 17 of us. There's a pergola shading the sunchairs by the pool (built after the images in the ad were taken) which was excellent, and there's a complete semi-outdoor kitchen adjacent to the dining table, which is immensely useful because it allows cooking at home even in the warm Spanish summer. The patio with wicker furniture is also very comfortable, not least late in the evening. Julie was very accommodating, and assisted us in any way, including fixing the catering for the 80th anniversary and driving the seniors to the airport. She's a very reliable and friendly landlord who goes to great lengths to ensure the well-being of her tenants. We've rented a number of houses before, and she certainly gets a full score from us. The beach in nearby Guardamar is excellent, and there is an adequate selection of supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants etc within walking distance in Ciudad Quesada. All the holiday facilities you'd expect from a destination such as Torrevieja (go-carts, the Aquapark etc) are easily accessible by car. There are ambulant local markets and the odd festival/carnival in neary towns. This notwithstanding, the region in general is possibly the least interesting one in the whole of Spain. Quesada seems to be a second home "urbanication" for wealthy Scandinavians, brits etc, with little if anything in the way of local colorite. You'd have to drive a couple hours to find any place of real interest. But the house, the climate, the beach and the touristic facilites get top marks from us! We are two families that have holidayed together for the last ten years, the last 6 of which we have been searching for the ideal villa and location. This year we found it. From the off Julie was the perfect hostess. Bringing us a fantastic welcome pack of bread, cheese, wine and beer amongst other things that saved us rushing out to the shops. The villa suited our two families perfectly with the bedrooms just right for ages from 52 down to 13. (12 people in total) There is a large free form pool and a brilliant outdoor kitchen and dining table that fitted everyone around it. You didn't have to move more than a few feet to get food and drink or be sunbathing or swimming. Two fridges, a hob and a dishwasher meant we didn't have to use the main kitchen at all. The location is brilliant being about 15 minutes walk to the edge of Quesada and two minutes from a local mini market, The Coopers Arms and a couple of restaurants. Julie dropped in a couple of times to make sure everything was OK , if there was a problem it was sorted straightaway. Our party consists of two 19 year olds and two 17 year olds who had said that this was the last year that they would be coming on holiday as a family and would be going away with friends next year. Not now. They all want to go back to Julies next year. I think that probably says it all. Thank You Julie, for everything you did for us.
We booked this beautiful property to have a relaxing girly weekend for 10. It was exactly how I'd hoped it would be..... spotlessly clean, wonderful outdoor facilities (we barely used the indoors) as the weather was lovely and warm. I have recommended this property to several friends and all 10 of us said we'd love to come back. Julie the lovely owner couldn't have been more accommodating she drove us to get groceries, drove us to a local flamenco evening (which she recommended and booked for us) drove us to the beach and local markets, nothing was too much trouble for our lovely host. We ate breakfast at a local cafe and ate a lovely Chinese meal which was incredibly good value. I think we ll be coming back now I know how convenient it all is. The only down side was that none of us wanted to go home. My Response Hi Kate, thank-you very much for your lovely comments.
