8/9/2022 at 6:12 AM
We have just returned home from our 2 week stay at The Farm of the Seven Olive Trees. A traditional rustic Spanish farmhouse set amongst the hills and olive trees of Montefrio. A house with a colourful past whose walls have many stories. Here is its latest story which we feel privileged to have been part of. This is our story. Firstly if you are looking for opulent flat screen TV’s, hi-tech gadgets and the luxuries and excesses of modern living then The House of Seven Olive Trees probably isn’t for you. If you desire an authentic experience that can’t be bought from a brochure and an opportunity to be transported back to simpler times amongst the olive trees which are the very heartbeat of Montefrio, stunning panoramic scenery and sunsets that render you speechless then The Farm of the Seven Olive Trees could just be your nirvana. We finished our stay as a family by all agreeing it was our best family holiday together. We combined lazy days by the pool enjoying all too precious family time just taking in the surroundings and atmosphere with day trips to more famous landmarks such as Granada and the famous Alhambra, Sierra Nevada mountains and further afield the Andalusian capital Seville. However Montefrio kept calling us back and had captured our hearts, some of our best memories were much simpler ones however, just enjoying a respite from the mid-afternoon sun by sitting in the shade in some of the local bars enjoying cold drinks, delicious warm tapas (that are usually served free!) and enjoying the infectious hospitality and smiles of the locals that somehow managed to outshine and surpass the scenery which has been voted one of the top ten village views of the world. We finished the holiday by running out of time! We all wanted one last round of tapas, swim in the pool, sunset and bottle of wine! However more importantly we left a much happier, content and closer family for our experinces. Like the romantic Montefrio sunsets I enjoyed sharing each evening with my wife on the terrace. All good things come to an end but Montefrio and The House of the Seven Olive Tree will always live on in our memories. As we didn’t get to see and do everything we wanted to do we have the perfect excuse to come back for that dish we never got to order from Bar Pregonero! When we do come back I truly hope absolutely nothing has changed.
We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful villa. I am always looking for a place like this to stay and they are so rare to find. Romantic authentic rustic and beautiful. The views and location are stunning. The pool was big and provided hours of entertainment. the separate casita was brilliant for hosting friends and mother. Montefrio is a beautiful walk away and is a real gem if authentic Spain is what you are looking for. We loved it, very pretty, friendly and full of character. Margaret the owner was the perfect host providing gems of advice and wisdom, and always replied to our enquiries straight away so generously. 30/8/2017 at 08:44
