The villa is situated on the edge of the quaint village of Archez and is accessed via a concrete driveway through its own private gated entrance. The property has stunning views of Mount Maroma and the National Park, which is less than 10 minuets drive, and across the villages of Archez and Canillas de Albaida, both of which are less than five minutes walk away and have small supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, a good selection of traditional bars and restaurants as well as some wonderful Spanish history and charm such as the 13th century bell tower in Archez.

There are three air conditioned double bedrooms two of which are en-suite. A travel cot is also available on request at no extra charge.. The spacious air conditioned open plan lounge has a light and airy traditional Spanish feel with a contemporary flat screen television and log burner for cosy winter evenings. WiFi is also included. Off the lounge is the first double bedroom with kingsize bed. Also off the lounge is a day room which has a pull out sofa bed. Through the day room is the twin bedroom with en-suite. This bedroom also benefits from its own independant access. Steps from the lounge lead up through a door to the mezzanine master double bedroom which has a dressing area and en-suite wet room. This bedroom also benefits from its own access through French doors to a secluded sun terrace which overlooks the pool and gardens and has far reaching views across Maroma, Archez and Canillas de Albaida. Downstairs, the fully fitted kitchen with double doors leads to the terrace and pool offering an excellent outdoor living space complete with dining area and BBQ. There is also a glazed terrace for year round enjoyment. Malaga airport is approximately 1 hours drive, Granada 1.5 hours and Seville, 2.5 hours. The beautiful beaches are approximately 20 minutes away and two 18 hole golf courses are within easy drive.

Beautiful extremely well equipped villa in a stunning location.

By David Eastop on 21-Jul-2018

We (a family of 4) had a fantastic 3 week break at Casa Buena Vista in July/August with unbroken sunshine and temperatures in the 30s every day.

The villa is extremely well presented and equipped. The air conditioned bedrooms were very comfortable and the air conditioning an absolute godsend to counteract the heat of the Spaipnish climate at the height of the summer. The kitchen has everything we needed and we made good use of the charcoal barbecue to take advantage of the fantastic weather and the opportunity for al fresco dining. The WiFi was excellent, both speed and range of signal, and the TV options were great (although we didn’t use it very often).

The view from the pool terrace was stunning and we all made use of the pool each day to cool off. We dined under the shade of the sun umbrella each night and enjoyed sitting on the swing seat watching the sun set behind the Andalusian hills opposite the villa whilst enjoying some Cava, or Rioja.

We found the drying area at the back of the villa real useful for drying off swimming gear/towels etc each day and the conservatory/sun room was ideal for sheltering from the hottest part of the day.

Once you get used to the hairpin bends on the road up to Archez from the motorway (around 25 minute drive), the location is superb, with plenty to do. Both the centre of Archez and Canillas De Albaida are a short stroll from the villa which is ideal for popping out for fresh bread or fresh fruit each day without having to drive. Best to decide whether you want the up hill walk on the way to or from the local store - as that will determine whether you go up the hill to Canillas or down the hill to Archez. Both have plenty of options for eating out - we particularly liked Venta El Curro in Archez - down to the bottom of the hill and across the bridge (you can see it from the terrace of the villa) whilst the Bar Extremena is convenient, with rustic food, large portions but fairly simply presented. The Gelateria in Competa is worth a visit for an ice cream and La Posada in Canillas was good for a lunch in the sun in the square.

Besides soaking up the sun and enjoying the pool, the key highlights for us were a visit to the Alhambra at Granada (around an hour and a half drive but make sure to book your tickets in advance), the Cueva de Nerja (also worth booking tickets in advance) and the water park at Torre Del Mar.

A fantastic holiday in an excellent villa in a beautiful part of Spain

Fab villa with super views

By Imogen Sibley on 13-Jul-2018

We arrived at this villa late in the evening in the dark, almost midnight… The key had already been left securely for us by the caretakers of this property. The road to Archez was winding and steep but we found the property with no problem at all thanks to the directions given to us in advance by the owners. Having seen the pictures on the website of the property we knew that it was in a stunning position... however, nothing can prepare you for the amazing views that greeted us upon waking the following morning! The views are completely stunning looking over to the mountains and down the valley in the direction of the sea (not quite a sea view)
The villa is lovely and well equipped to cope with your holiday needs and there is a barbecue for alfresco cooking. The fab pool was in constant use and the villa and outside seating area is well maintained by the caretakers who look after the property for the owners. They were also happy to help if any problems arose or information was needed.

The villa consists of a large sitting area with kitchen adjacent, a good sized double bedroom, a twin room with ensuite and a sofa bed in another room on the ground floor plus a bathroom. Upstairs is an ensuite double with a balcony with amazing views. All the bedrooms have Aircon as does the living room. The room with the sofa bed has a ceiling fan. At no point did we find the Villa too hot and was very comfortable to stay in with temperatures in the 30s.
Within a two minute walk is a local cafe/restaurant called La Extramena which catered for families very well and had a good choice of food . It was open late in the evening so you didn’t have to rush back from your day to go and find somewhere local to eat.
We had day trips to Nerja and Frigliana, plus other beaches along the coast. The only thing we would’ve done differently had we realised, was to hire a slightly smaller car than we thought we needed as the roads are mainly very windy mountain roads, (some even have barriers!!) Satnav is definitely worth including in your hire car.
Local supermarket in Archez supplied the basics we needed for breakfast (fresh bread, Melon etc) bigger more well stocked one in Competa a short drive away
Two cats live in the outbuilding of the villa which we were more than happy with as we have cats ourselves. They are catered for so don’t need feeding and they don’t go in the villa and they just slept mostly!
We did not know this area at all so we were really happy to find such a lovely place and discover a new area. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a bit of peace and quiet and some lovely views.

Family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 teenagers.
Flight from East Midlands to Malaga 2 hours 40. Drive from Malaga to villa approx 45 min.
Car hire via Doyouspain website (Record car Hire)

Stunning location, so peaceful

By Julie H. on 25-Sep-2017

A lovely house, very airy and spacious. Pool was gorgeous with stunning views from the pool area. A lovely breeze kept the temperatures comfortable. Visited Competa most days for grocery shopping, coffee and a wander round. Highly recommended.

Beautiful villa with amazing views

By Anne D. on 05-Sep-2017

Had a very peaceful break in this lovely home. Archez is small and hilly, but had everything we needed. I would say you really need a car to enjoy this area fully.

Stunning location - peaceful & relaxing

By Leanne A. on 24-Jun-2017

My husband and I have just returned from 11 incredibly relaxing nights at Casa Buena Vista. Situated in the mountains, the views from this villa are spectacular from the pool, terrace & upstairs bedroom & terrace. A very peaceful area so I recommend a car as it's hilly of course! The supermarkets in both Archez & Canailla de Abedas are ample - the latter selling lovely bread & pastries. Bigger supermarkets available in Competa which is only a 10 minute drive away & very worthwhile visiting - go to the plaza and people watch having a meal or drink! The property is very well kept & had everything we needed. The pool is just fabulous for hot days - and it was very hot during our visigt. You wont be disappointed by this place - I'm missing the views so much & we only got back yesterday. The owners are very helpful indeed.

Great villa - spacious with stunning views

By Laura O on 09-Jun-2016

Wow! Buena Vista lives up to its name with amazing views accross the mountains. Such a peaceful location yet within easy walking distance of the lovely village of Archez, where you can buy fresh bread and groceries 7 days a week, as well as wondering arounds the pretty Spanish streets. The villa has the best of both worlds; a relaxed day by the Pool overlooking such a gorgeous landscape feels remote and peaceful, but when the kids got bored there was always an open air market, bazaar, or gelataria nearby to occupy them for an hour. Canillas and competa are less than 5 mins drive away and offer some great friendly restaurants and cafes and atmospheric tavernas. The villa had everything we needed (and we needed a lot being 2 adults, 3 kids and 2 tots) and the owners were really accommodating with any requirementsand questions we had. The kitchen was modern and light with doors to the outdoor area for alfresco dining with ease and the sun room was a godsend on hotter days when the children needed a bit of shade while they ate. The shutters and air con made for cool nights and easy sleep and the overall feel of Buena Vista was well thought out, very comfortable and above all, incredibly relaxing. A wonderful holiday - we will be sure to return.
